Sumo Nagoya Basho 2013 Day 12



J9e     Seiro (7-4)   vs J11w    Takanoyama (3-8)

Tak was lightning fast here and actually put out Seiro twice but the ref's only noticed the 2nd. Tak slammed Seiro for the win.

J14w    Kotomisen (5-6)  vs J9w     Osunaarashi (7-4)
Koto went too hard so Osuna pushed him out for it. Osuna gets his kachikoshi.

J6w     Homasho (7-4)  vs J3w     Tochinowaka (8-3)
Tochino pushed too hard and almost got taken out from the side but he recovered and pushed out Homasho for the win.

J1e     Takanoiwa (7-4)   vs J13w    Endo (10-1)
Endo pushed away and almost slipped but stayed strong to win this.

 
O1e     Kisenosato (8-3)  vs O2w     Kotooshu (9-2)

Koto  couldn't do much here and ended up being backed up and pushed out.

Y1e     Hakuho (11-0) vs   O1w     Kotoshogiku (7-4)
Haku got the first grip and the only grip here throwing Koto down.

O2e     Kakuryu (7-4)  vs  Y1w     Harumafuji (7-4)
They were  pretty even here until Haru spun Kaku near the edge and got him out.

Day 13

J8e     Asasekiryu (8-4) vs  J9w     Osunaarashi (8-4)
Asa got too low and rushed in so Osuna went to the side and got him.

J11w    Takanoyama (4-8)  vs     J4w     Nionoumi (1-11)

Tak got the side step in for the win here. He has won a few in a row and if he can go to 7-8, he might have a longshot at staying in Juryo.
J13w    Endo (11-1)  vs   J3w     Tochinowaka (9-3)
Endo had a great belt grip from the start while Tochino went with double underhooks. Toch almost had him but Endo held on and swung Toch down. Endo wins the Juryo division crown.

O2e     Kakuryu (7-5)  vs    M3e     Chiyotairyu (7-5)

Chiyo slammed Kaku with the tachi ai and almost won it but he didn't have a 2nd attack and then got pushed back quick.

K1w     Tokitenku (4-8)   vs   O1w     Kotoshogiku (7-5)
Koto won the tachi ai and backed up Toki with no problem to get his kachikoshi.

O1e     Kisenosato (9-3)    vs   Y1w     Harumafuji (8-4)
Haruma got out strengthed early and Kisen struck back hard and Haru just couldn't handle it. He went back and lost.

Y1e     Hakuho (12-0)   vs    O2w     Kotooshu (9-3)

Haku worked from the side and Koto was unable to really get a grip in return. Near the end Koto just gave up and Haku pushed him out. Hakuho clinches the basho.
