CMLL 5/4/2026 Arena Puebla - Batalla de Naciones

The announcer welcomes us to the show as usual.

Asturiano and Makro vs Multy and Rencor

Multy (blue) and Makro (red) go at it. Makro is thrown down by the arm then Makro armdrags him. Multy trips him and is armdragged. Makro headscissors him from the mat and Multy backs off. Makro armdrags him and legsweeps him. They stand off.

Ren and Ast get in. Ast guillotines him. Ast flips out of a hold using the ropes and armdrags him. Ast armbars him on the mat. Ren hip throws him. Ren armdrags him and sweeps him a few times. 

Multy and Mak get back in. Mak springboard crossbodies him then flying headscissors him. Mak goes out and Ren double axe handles him off the apron. Multy gets in and stomps Ast. Ast is popped up and dropkicked out. Mak takes corner lariats then a corner senton.

Ast takes a corner lariat then a corner dropkick to the crotch. Mak runs into double boots from Ren. Ren flying headscissors Multy then backbreakers Ren. Ast gets in and takes down Multy. He armdrags him and top rope diving headscissors him. Ast step up headscissors Ren out and poses. 

Mak trips Multy then cartwheels over him. Mak springboard diving headscissors him. Mak walks up the ropes and diving armdrags him. Mark then does it again to Ren. Ast is popped up and hits a double dropkick. Mak's team hit stereo tope con hilos.

Multy misses a corner splash. Ast top rope crossbodies Ren. Mak then top rope swantons Ren and pins him while Ast pins Multy. Makro's team wins the match.

Thoughts: It was a good opener. They hit some dives and did some basic stuff without overdoing it. Makro had a strong night and came across well. Asturiano made this stuff look easy. 

Meyer and Astro vs Prayer and Rey Apocapalipsis

1st Fall - Ast and Prayer go at it. They trade some holds and Ast armdrags him. Prayer side headlock him and armdrags him. Ast snapmares him and kicks him in the back. Ast armdrags him out to the ramp. Meyer and Rey get in. Rey side headlocks him then Meyer armdrags him. Rey armdrags him and Meyer shoulders him over. Meyer spinning reverse headscissors him from the mat. Meyer spinning headscissors Rey.Prayer flying headscissors Meyer then Ast springboard diving armdrags Prayer. Prayer step up enzugiri's Meyer then is dropkicked by Ast. Rey springboard dropkicks Ast.

Prayer is put on Rey's back. They swept and put in a combination pin + camel clutch. Prayer submits. Meyer's team wins the fall.

2nd Fall - Ast cartwheels over Prayer. Ast walks up the ropes, seated moonsaults and armdrags him. Ast 619's Prayer then springboard diving armdrags him. Ast walks up the buckles and tornillo's Rey. Ast tilt-a-whirl armdrags Rey out.

Prayer chops Meyer down and Meyer chops him. Meyer rolls over his back and armdrags him. Meyer flying headscissors him out. Rey armdrags Meyer then Meyer dropkicks him. Meyer spinning headscissors Rey. Meyer tope con hilos Rey. Ast springboard crossbodies Prayer and is caughting with a swinging side slam. Prayer pins him. Prayer's team wins the fall.

3rd Fall - Rey pulls on Ast's mask then bites him. Ast is held for shots to the gut and a dropkick. Meyer is double teamed. He takes a chop + spinebuster combo and a double legdrop from the heels. Rey throws Ast. Ast flying headscissors Prayer. Rey stomps on Ast. 

Rey pounds on Meyer's head. Meyer takes a double boot out. Ast  takes a pop up drop and a double splash. Ast is abused on the ropes and the rudos bit his foot and fingers. Meyer is double teamed in the corner and stomped on. Rey stands on Meyer's chest. Meyer is back body dropped. 

Ast is back body dropped. Meyer is held for a chop from Prayer. Rey pop up la silla's Rey then Meyer tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Rey. Ast springboard diving headscissors Prayer then tope con hilos him through the ropes. Rey takes a casadora drop from Meyer. Meyer pins Rey. Meyer's team wins the fall and match. 

Thoughts: I liked it. It was similar to the opener. It had a different structure with the faces getting all their offense in first then taking their licks after. It was an easy bout to watch and there weren't any issues here.

Lightning Match - Stigma vs Okumura

Oku shoulders Stig over. Stig flips out of a hiptoss and armdrags him. Oku armdrags him again then Stig reverse headscissors him down from the mat. They trade shots. Oku spin kicks him then Stig dropkicks him out. Oku tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him on the floor. 

Stig is sent into the post. Oku hits Stig on the buckles then basement dropkicks him. Oku back body drops Stig. Oku leg chokes him on the ropes and tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him for 2. Stig chops him and Oku chops him down. Oku chinlocks Stig then Stig flying headscissors him. Oku back elbows him for 2.

Stig superkicks him in the face then dropkicks him out. Stig topes Oku. Stig hits punches on Oku and drops him in the ring. Stig top rope splashes him for 2. Stig takes a bridging cutter. Oku michinoku drivers him and pins him. 

Thoughts: It was a shorter bout and it was fine. I was surprised to see Oku pick up the win here. Stig didn't get to do all that much flying here. Oku really sold Stig's tope. 

Xelhua vs KUSHIDA

Kush kicks away a handshake. Kush top wristlocks him and armlocks him. Kush throws him down by the arm and they try to armdrag each other at the same time. Xel armdrags him. Xel rolls him into a 2 count. Xel ties his arms up and pulls his leg.

Kush takes him down by the arm and knee drops the arm. Kush wristlocks him. Xel takes him down, ties up his legs and rolls into a figure four variation. Kush surfboards him and they get up. Xel trips him then surfboards him. 

Kush sweeping kicks him in the leg. Kush rakes Xel's eyes with his feet. Kush grounded rocking chairs him. Xel armdrags him. Kush is pulled over the top and Xel slides out with him. Kush kicks Xel in the arm as they get back in. Kush unties Xel's mask. Kush hiptoss cartwheel basement dropkicks Xel for 2. Kush bulldogs Xel's arm.

Xel chops him on the ramp then bulldogs his shoulder on the ramp. Kush wasteland's him inside. Xel tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him twice. Xel northern lights suplexes him for 2. Kush rolls him and kicks him in the arm. Kush flying kimura's him. Kush kimura's him then rolls him up with the tights for a 2 count. Kush gets a 2 count on him. Xel la rosa drivers Kush for 2.

Kush hits leg kicks and eye rakes him. Xel hurricanrana's him and goes for the pin. Kush pulls the mask off, the ref sees him doing it and Kushida is DQ'd.

Thoughts: It started off well but got less interesting as it went on. The finish could have been a bit cleaner too. 

Xel hits Kush after and chases him to the back. 

Mascara Dorada and Angel de Oro vs Austin Aries and Trevor Lee

They compete for cheers. Lee boots him and side headlocks him. Lee shoulders Oro over. Oro flying headscissors Lee. AA hits Oro from behind. AA and MD trade chops. AA armdrags him off the up and over. AA handstands out of a headscissors and low dropkicks MD. 

MD corkscrew headscissors AA. Oro and MD slide out and get hit. Lee stomps on MD outside. Lee forearms Oro in the back then backbreakers him for 2. Lee chokes Oro on the ropes. AA slingshot swantons Oro for 2 then front facelocks him. MD tags hin and boots AA. AA knees him in the gut then pulls on MD's mask. AA ear claps MD. 

MD's head is banged off of Lee's boot. AA slams MD. Lee teases a 450 on MD but drops down and just tries a pin. MD hits shots on Lee then Lee lariats him. MD is held for a slingshot elbow drop from AA. Oro ducks an AA splash then flying headscissors AA. MD top rope diving armdrags AA. MD wastelands Lee and Oro slingshot santons Lee. MD topes AA outside.

Oro and Lee trade shots. Lee facekicks him. Oro superkicks him. MD top rope crossbodies AA. MD goes for the crossbody on Lee and Lee turns it into a spanish fly. The four trade shots in the ring. AA spinning forearms MD. Lee high kicks Oro. MD code red's Lee. Everyone starts hitting moves. Lee and MD high kick each other down at the same time.

MD is up top and Lee top rope release germans him. Oro hits punches on both opponents. Oro takes a high kick + spinning forearm from The American's. AA corner dropkicks Oro then Lee M. Bison stomps Oro. AA brainbusters Oro and pins him.

Thoughts: It was acceptable but not quite as good as I had hoped. MD didn't do a ton of flying here and I wouldn't say anyone really did their best stuff here. 

Cinco de Mayo Torneo Cibernetico - Titan, Esfinge, Barbaro Cavernario and Difunto vs Diego Hill, Bishop Dyer, Donovan Dijak and Ikuro Kwon

Dif and Kwon go at it. Dif eye rakes him and is swept down. They grapple on the mat and trade some holds. Dif flying headscissors Kwon and they trade armdrags. Kwon sweeps him and they stand off.

Esf and Hill get in. Hill walks up the buckles and springboard flipping armdrags him. Hill misses a corkscrrw headscissors and lands on his head. Hill and Esf trade armdrags. Esf dropkicks him.

Dyer and Barb get in. Barb hits forearms and Dye chops him. Dyer hits a forearm flurry. Barb shoulders him then is shouldered down. Dyer catches Barb's plancha outside and drops him face first on the apron. Dijak and Titan get in. Titan hits chops on Dijak then Dijak chops him down. Dijak eye rakes Titan. Ttian dropkicks him in the knee then double stomps his back. 

Hill superkicks Titan as he goes for a dive. Hill flips over Dif then Hill springboard diving armdrags him. Hill hits lariats on Dif. Dif ducks a sliding lariat. Diff flying elbows Hill then walks up the ropes and springboard flying elbows him. Dif spinning heel kicks Hill out. Dif walks up the ropes and plancha's Hill outside. Everyone fights outside.

Dyer face shoves Esf then side headlocks him. Dyer shoulders him over. Dyer stands on his throat on the bottom rope. Esf high kicks him from the apron and springboard dropkicks him.

Barb and Dijak get it. Dijak suplexes him then stomps him. Dijak forearms him. Barb la rosa suplexes him. Barb walks up the ropes and plancha's Dijak and Esf outside. Kwon running lariats Esf in the ring. Esf superkicks him. Kwon high kicks him then axe kicks him in the head. Kwon corkscrew kicks him. 

They trade corner lariats. Esf superkicks him. Esf springboard splashes him and pins him. Ikuro Kwon is eliminated.

Dyer nails Esf from behind and throws him out. Dif and Dyer shoulder battle. Dyer takes a corner lariat. Dif chops him in the corner. Dif springboard dropkicks him for 2. Dif dropkicks him. Dif goes for a rope walk but Dyer crotches him up top. Dyer death valley drivers him and pins him. Difunto is eliminated. 

Barb chops Hill and Hill chops back. Barb shoulders him over but Hill kips up. Barb knees him in the gut and shoulders him over. Hill flying headscissors him out. Hill then tope con hilos him. Hill boots him out of the corner. Barb stomps him while he's down. Dyer running lariats Barb then Titan springboard dropkicks Dyer. Dyer is double teamed in the corner.

Dyer double boots Titan and Barb and Titan tries to do the worm with Barb. Dyer takes kicks from both and a double suplex. Dyer takes a legdrop + springboard splash and is pinned. Bishop Dyer is eliminated.

Barb bites Dijak in the corner. Dijak eye rakes him then hits a GTH. Dijak pins him. Barbaro Cavernario is eliminated.

Esf grabs Dijak. Dijak lariats Esf. Dijak picks up Titan and Titan gets on his back with a chinlock. Titan and Hill trade chops. Titan hits a strike combo. Hill superkicks him then enzugiri's him in the head. Hill tornillo kicks him on the back. Hill springboard spin kicks Titan. Titan gets his knees up on Hill's top rope 450. Titan emerald flowsions Hill. Titan top rope double stomps him and pins him. Diego Hill is eliminated.

The docs check on Hill on the ramp. Dijak facekicks Esf and pounds on his head. Dijak chinlocks him. Esf high kicks Dijak from the apron. Titan spin kicks Dijak then hits a strike combo. Titan cradle shocks him. Titan top rope double stomps Dijak for 2. Dijak catches Titan's crossbody then hits a GTH on him. Dijak pins him. Titan is eliminated.

Esf and Dijak are the final two. Esf high kicks him from the apron then is superkicked down to the floor. Dijak tope con hilos him. Dijak sitout chokeslams him for 2. Esf blocks a GTH and pumping knees him. Dijak spinning facekicks him. Dijak misses a top rope moonsault. Esf springboard splashes him twice and pins him. Esfinge's team wins.

Thoughts: It wasn't that good and was levels down from Friday's cibernetico. There were a lot of communication issues and Diego Hill had another one of his bad nights. The big guys and the smaller guys weren't working well together. It was below average and it just didn't click that well. It still was something different and nice to see, but it didn't work.

Esfinge is given a plate for winning after.

Overall thoughts: The opener and the second match both went well. Okumura/Stigma was fine. Xelhua/Kushida had a good thing going early and lost it in their match. Aries' match was acceptable. The cibernetico was below average. There were a lot of communication issues, Hill had a bad night and the big and small guys struggled to work together. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 as the majority of the matches were good and if nothing else, it was nice to see some different names. It was just okay overall.
