AEW Collision 12/6/2025

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/11/aew-collision-11272025-collision.html

This is going up against NXT Deadline.

We are in Columbus, Ohio. Tony Schiavone, Ian Riccaboni and Nigel McGuinness are on commentary.

AEW Continental Classic 2025 Blue League Match - Orange Cassidy vs Roderick Strong

RS does some basic holds and takes him down. RS yanks on the arm and OC rope breaks. OC blocks chops and side headlock takeovers him twice. OC side headlock takeovers him two more times. He tries again, gets backbreakered then does it again. RS chops him then chops him outside.

OC side headlock takeovers him on the floor then is dropped back first on the rail. RS uranage backbreakers him. We go to PiP break and return. OC spinning ddt's RS. OC puts his hands in his pockets and reverse money flips him. OC topes him.

RS' head is banged off the buckles. OC is caught off the top with a powerslam. OC crucifixes him for 2. OC slingshot ddt's him. OC top rope diving tornado ddt's him. RS half-nelson backbreakers him then torture rack backbreakers him for 2. OC rolls him up for 2. OC stunners him off a suplex attempt. OC blocks a backbreaker and pins him.

Thoughts: I didn't like it. It ran into the same problems every OC match does - he's this wrestling savant that can just outdo everyone and fool around at the same time. The endless side headlock takeovers were a joke.

We are told Darby Allin is out of the Continental Classic and Jack Perry is going to take his place.

Darby Allin does a promo outside. He says The Death Riders are winning the war. He drops down and does a push-up. He says he felt his legs give out against Kevin Knight. He says the doctors took him out of the tournament. He tells Jack to go on and win the whole thing.

Thoughts: I assume this is real because it would be dumb to work out. Darby took some awful looking falls in that match with Kevin and I'm not surprised he got injured. It sucks though as he made the tournament a lot more interesting.

FTR and Stokeley Hathaway come out to talk. Stoke complains about Austin Gunn and Juice touching FTR's titles. Stoke says they want them in the ring now. Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson come out. Cash says they are the least team to beat FTR and say that will be the last time it happens. Cash calls Austin a son of a legend only and says Juice is Mr. Toni Storm.

Dax says Austin is a nepobaby and Juice is a bag carrier. He says they were only relevant when they stood across from them. Dax says they are 1/1 and no one comes close. Dax dares them to touch his belt. Austin says Cash is the son of his first cousin and Dax is a son of a b!tch. Austin says FTR is avoiding putting their tag titles on the line as they won last time. Austin tell them to make the match official.

Juice says they won $200,000 a few weeks ago and says they could touch hundreds of belts wiht it. Juice says they need those titles. He says they didn't come out to touch the titles. He says the next time they touch them is when the ref hands them the titles.

Yuta, Shafir and Garcia talk in the back. Shafir asks who is pushing Mark Briscoe to be great everyday. Yuta says nobody. Yuta says Mark can't match their drive or violence. Garcia says Mark is one of the stupidest people he has ever met. He says the stupidest thing Mark did is put the title on the line against him. He says he's taking it in Cardiff, Wales.

AEW Continental Classic 2025 Blue League Match - Claudio Castagnoli vs. Mascara Dorada

CC takes him down. CC flips him over his back and MD armdrags him. CC side headlock takeovers him. MD jumps up and is hit with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. CC stomps MD. CC elbow drops him. CC shoulders him over.

MD cartwheels over him and handsprings. MD walks up the ropes and does flips into an armdrag on him. MD goes for a tope and is hit with a euro. MD is dropped throat first on the rails. We go to PiP break, full break and return.

CC rips at MD's mask. CC giant swings him. CC euros him in the corner. MD goes up and over and superkicks him. MD moonsaults off the top into an armdrag. MD corkscrew headscissors CC. CC throws him in and poses then MD topes him into an armdrag.

MD flips off the 2nd rope into an armdrag on CC outside. MD toyota rolls him for 2. MD is caught off the top and CC tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him. MD rolls him up for 2. MD superkicks him and CC lariats him for 2.

CC hits euros. CC blocks his headscissors. MD corkscrew hurricanrana's him off the 2nd rope. CC no sells it. MD hits a top rope ssp and wins.

Thoughts
: Whoa, now that's some odd booking. CC beats Mox only to lose to MD. It was an entertaining bout with MD doing some of his better offense and some stuff we don't see normally. The moonsault into the armdrag was nice and I liked his corkscrew hurricanrana off the top. This was what it looked like it would be and I liked it.

We have a pre-taped interview with Tony Schiavone, Mina, Toni Storm, Harley and Willow and the AEW Tag Titles. Toni wants to toast. Toni says they are a tag team whether they fight in the ring or not. Toni talks about how they met. Willow does the same. She says her and Harley focused on what they love. Toni says she has beaten both of them and they haven't beaten her. Harley says they have history. Mina says let's give them a fight to remember and they all toast.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and brings out Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana.

Swerve said he returned 2 weeks ago after being put on the shelf for 3 months. He says he was turning himself into the biggest, baddest version of Swerve while he was injured. He says it was all for the purpose of the AEW Title. He says the title raises the bar but makes you public enemy #1. He says Samoa Joe has the title now.

He says Joe is running from him as he beat him for the title last time. He says Joe will fall to him again. He says him and Adam Page don't see eye to eye but there's never been a better rivalry than theirs. He says Page is looking for a partner against The Opps and he offers to back him up.

Josh Alexander interrupts. Josh says this is Don Callis' house now. He says they put a chokehold on AEW and won't loosen the grip anytime soon. The crowd chants for Don and Josh says Don wouldn't be caught dead here. Josh asks who put Swerve out and injured his knee. He says it was Don Callis Family member Okada.

Josh complains about Swerve coming back and wanting a title shot. Josh says he beat Ospreay and injured Kota Ibushi while Swerve was gone. He says he also went toe to toe with Omega and helped The Family get $1 million richer. He says if anyone deserves a title shot, it's him. Josh says they should have a match. Josh says this crowd isn't a wrestling crowd (they are at a convention). Swerve challenges him to a match in Cardiff and Josh accepts. Katsuyori Shibata then comes in and hits Swerve in the back of his previous injured leg. Josh says he will see Swerve next week.

Mercedes Mone is interviewed. She is asked about her match with Red Velvet and says she doesn't want to answer it. She is asked if her losses are weighing on her. Mone says she's a global wrestling icon. She says only her 12 titles are weighing on her. She says she's sick of being disrespected around here. She says she will show Leila Grey that there's a price to pay for messing with Mercedes Mone (Grey went up to her last night after she lost to Red on ROH).

AEW TBS Title Match - Mercedes Mone (c) vs. Leila Grey

Mone is now down to 12 belts.

Mone hits LG from behind and basement dropkicks her. Mone baseball slides her. Daniels it out there with LG and gets meteora'd by Mone. LG pulls Mone's throat down over the top. LG basement dropkicks her for 2. LG flipping neckbreakers her. LG step up enzugiri's her.

Mone pulls LG head first into the buckles. LG step up knees her in the corner and bulldogs her. Mone meteora's her for 2. We go to PiP break and return.

Mone misses a corner meteora and is hit with lariats. LG sling blades her. LG step up knees her in the corner and seems to hurt herself. LG bulldogs her. Mone doe a crossface and submits her.

Thoughts: I feel like LG got injured here and they just cut to the finish. It was short and not too much of note.

Mone keeps the hold on after. Daniels breaks it then Mone kicks Daniels in the crotch.

Mone grabs Tony Schiavone's headset after and says she's still the greatest TBS champ of all time.

Eddie Kingston does a promo. He says he's dreamt of doing this since he was a kid. He says he has a chance to be the champ. He says Joe can't be in his head as he's in his head everyday. Eddie says he yells and screams as he cares about wrestling. He says he cares too much for AEW. He doesn't like the way younger guys are going and says it's not right. He says AEW is supposed to be something different. He says you are supposed to be rewarded for hard work and wins in the ring. He says he was out for  18 months and comes back to this. He says Joe is the best wrestler in the world today. Eddie says he wants things to change and wants the culture to be better. He says he wants the younger guys to do it the right way.

We return from break and Thekla's crew is beating up a bunch of random women in the back. I think Maya World and someone else joins in and they take them out. Hart and Blue says they come for the win and Thekla says see ya in Cardiff, b!tches.

AEW National Title Match - Ricochet (c) vs Ace Austin

Ace side headlock takeovers him. Ric rolls over his back then backflips into a headscissors on Ace but Ace flips out of it. Ace side headlock takeovers him and is put in a headscissors. Ace takes him over again and crucifixes him for 2. Ace is distracted by Kaun and Toa.

Ace rolls and trips Ric. He kicks him in the back of the head and la magistral's him for 2. Ace dropkicks him outside. Ric gets upset and grabs a hammer. Kaun trips Ace and Ric hits Ace from behind. Ric topes him.

We go to PiP break and return. Ric misses a leg lariat in the corner. Ace short arm lariats him then russian legsweeps him. Ace legdrops him. Ace hits corner lariats. Toa trips Ace on his handstand on the apron. Apron springboard crossbodies Ric. Ace doctor bomb's Ric for 2.

Ric backrolls him for 2. Ric hits a stiff dropkick then standing ssp's him for 2. Ace cradles Ric for 2. Ric is put up top. Ace superplexes him down. Ace rams Ric's head into the mat for 2.

Ric hides behind the ref and Ace blocks his low blow attempt. Ric spirit gun's him. Ric hits his sitout reverse ddt on him and pins him.

Thoughts:
It was what you would expect - a fast paced and high flying battle. I liked what we got and they didn't overdo it too much before the finish. Ace lost as expected here.

FTR then come in and jump Ace Austin. Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson come out and help. FTR try to hit them with titles and miss. Juice and Austin punch them down. They grab the titles but throw them back at FTR.

AEW Continental Classic 2025 Blue League Match - Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Mox wristlocks him then takes him down by the wrist. They shove each other. Mox side headlock takeovers him. KT headscissors him. KT side headlocks him then Mox reverses it. They shoulder battle.

KT flying lariats him. Mox hits chops and KT kicks him in the leg. Mox holds his leg. Mox's leg is banged off the steps and rails. KT dragon screws him.

We go to PiP break and return. Mox dropkicks KT in the ankle then curbstomps him on the apron. Mox backdrops him in the ring. KT no sells it and germans him. They double clothesline each other down. They trade forearms. They lean on each other and Mox lariats him.

KT goes for a blue thunder but Mox side headlock takeovers him. Mox armbars him. Mox stomps him. KT back body drops him on the apron. KT sells his ankle and forearms Mox out. KT tope con hilos Mox. KT tries to take the top off of a table and the table just collapses. KT blue thunders Mox on the collapsed table. KT top rope splashes him inside for 2.

Mox cradles KT for 2 then cutters him. KT drops down on the ankle. Mox slaps him then hits a double underhook ddt. Mox corner lariats him then hits a lariat and a facekick. Mox forearms him and hits punches. Mox's leg gives out and Kt pumping knees him for 2. KT pumping knees him then falcon arrows him for the win.

Thoughts: The selling was a little suspect here. Mox sold his leg injury better than KT sold his ankle injury. I wish they had just stuck more to strikes as they were doing well with that. It's a shame the table collapsed on them when it wasn't supposed to but they did make the best of it. I would give this a thumbs up as I think they did enough here but regardless, it wasn't boring.

Overall thoughts: It was a little better of a show than usual. I liked Claudio/Dorada, Ace/Ricochet and the main. I felt like they gave us enough non-wrestling stuff here and pushed some storylines as well. I'd give this a 6 out of 10 as the show was fine.
