AJPW 11/21/1991 - Mitsuharu Misawa and Toshiaki Kawada vs Kenta Kobashi and Tsuyoshi Kikuchi
Mitsuharu Misawa beat Tsuyoshi Kikuchi with the Tiger Driver. Good but not great. Even though Kikuchi was by far the most over guy in the match, they were determined to remind everyone that he's smaller and just can't be treated as a serious threat. This bothered me as I really thought Kikuchi should have been in the mix with the main eventers during AJPW's 90's heyday. He was fiery here and very fast. He nailed some good shots and really stretched Kawada out good along with Kobashi. Misawa was good here too. He nailed some rapid fire hard elbows. Kawada was good as well but the focus wasn't on him as much. Loved him kicking Kikuchi in the back and out early and he showed some nice aggression. The match didn't have enough time or enough of a finishing stretch to be truly great but I did enjoy it. Really wish this would have gotten about another 5 minutes with some false finishes. Fun match though and a neat find to see some of the younger guys of AJPW at the time. Rating:***1/2
