AJPW 10/24/1991 - Triple Crown - Jumbo Tsuruta vs Toshiaki Kawada

Jumbo Tsuruta beat Toshiaki Kawada with a backdrop suplex hold. Great match. It was super simple but super effective. Kawada was like a shark early on, applying the headlock time and time again and taking the early advantage. They exchanged strikes then went into sleeper hold exchanges. Then we got near the last half with Jumbo lariating Kawada out of his mind then dropping him twice super hard on his head with nasty backdrops. The backdrops were the biggest part of the match and that's what made it so nice. There weren't a million kickouts but yet the crowd stayed hot and interested. I really think workers could learn a lot from this as the crowd was hot throughout and everyone looked like a million bucks. This is classic wrestling here and a real gem. Rating:****1/2
