New Japan Pro Wrestling 12/7/1990 - Keiji Mutoh and Masa Chono vs Andrei Sulsaev and Timur Zalasov
Chono sleepers Timur Zalasov |
Andrei Sulsaev germans Keiji Mutoh |
We join this in progress. Chono stomps Zalasov. Zalasov gets double teamed. Mutoh hits his flashing elbow on him and armbars him. Chono hits corner knees then chinlocks and legscissors him. Mutoh comes off the top and drops a stomp on Zalasov but is then suplexed.
Sulsaev hits a nice german on Mutoh then snapmares him into another german. Sulsaev goes for the armbar but Chono breaks it up. Sulsaev hits knees to the gut of Mutoh and hits a very nice twisting suplex. Mutoh spin kicks Sulsaev and Chono hits punches on him.
Zalasov gets in and STF's him, but Zalasov hits the ropes. Sulsaev belly to bellies Chono then Chono running forearms and kenka kicks him. Mutoh picks up Sulsaev and Chono hits a shoulder off the top. Mutoh then backbreakers Sulsaev and top rope moonsaults him for the win.
Overall thoughts: This is one of the few televised matches of Andrei Sulsaev and Timur Zalasov. I loved the random Russians in NJPW and like most of them, Sulsaev and Zalasov didn't do a bad job. They hit some nice suplexes here and could move well. This was joined in progress and it's unknown how much we missed. The match really wasn't that special or anything as the Russian's didn't really grasp what they were doing yet and with it being some of their only matches, that's understandable.
