The finish |
Akira Maeda beat Yoshihisa Yamamoto with a leglock at 9:46. This was better than I had expected. They kept the pace up and they kept the slaps flying which was good. Maeda even sold a little and made Yamamoto look good. Yamamoto was fine but he is just a bit goofy and a bit feminine in the ring. His shots really don't come across as believable and he's a bit too spunky for a match with Maeda at this point. Don't get me wrong, I like spunkiness, but if you watch this, you'll see what I mean. This was mostly all slaps and stand-ups with a few leglocks and heel hooks in-between. The crowd was into this too..Pretty good effort overall by both guys and this ended up being a fun match, which is more than I expected. Rating:***
