AEW Dynamite 9/28/2022

AEW Dynamite 9/28/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/aew-dynamite-grand-slam-9212022.html

The JAS came out to start things for their celebration. Everyone is wearing pruple suits and they have balloons, flowers and pizza's. Luigi Primo is spinning dough. Parker says Philly is the city of losers. Menard says he brought Primo and Primo says he has made New York City pizza. They say the crowd gets no pizza. Jericho confirms they get no pizza but says they get Jericho instead. Jericho buries ROH saying he is the most viewed ROH champ ever because nobody watches ROH. Jericho says this is the era of Ring of Jericho and says he will give Bandido, a former ROH champ, a title shot since he never got his rematch.

Jericho has a gift for Daniel Garcia and it's a goofy looking purple hat. Garcia doesn't look pleased and says that's a look for the best technical sports entertainer of all time. Garcia throws the hat down then punches out Luigi Primo. Garcia says he has enough and tries to say more but Jericho interrupts. Jericho asks him if he is a sports entertainer or a pro wrestler.

Bryan Danielson then comes out with Regal, though Regal goes to the back. Bryan says he thinks Jericho is trying to tell Garcia what he should be. Bryan says Garcia can do anything he wants and invites him to the BCC if he wants. Jericho says Garcia does what he tells him to do. Garcia says he doesn't belong to him and doesn't have to do anything he tells him to. Garcia says we are supposed to be entertaining though and throws a pizza. He says throwing pizza with Primo would be entertaining as would he if he teamed with Justin Roberts. He then asked if a tag team with Bryan Danielson would be entertaining. He then says he and Bryan teaming up against Jericho and Sammy Guevara would be entertaining.

Menard says they are sick of his crap and says he wants to spit in their face and turn on them for Danielson. Menard says he wants to punch Bryan and Bryan says he was told he can come out there and have a match with anyone who wants to fight him. He then suggests Menard vs himself and says they should do it right now.

I thought it was a pretty good segment and a clever way to get Primo in there.

We go to the announcers and they run down the show.

Matt Menard vs Bryan Danielson

Bryan is pushed and music randomly plays. Menard hits corner punches on Bryan then Bryan hits kicks in the corner. Bryan shoulders and armdrags him. They trade shots and Bryan is pushed off the top buckle onto the floor.

We go to PIP break and return. Menard is in control and Bryan tries to fire up through his chops. Bryan hits his own chops and then kick flurries him in the corner. Bryan flips off the top rope then flying elbows him. Bryan hits flying shoulder kicks then kicks him as he is on his knees. Parker pulls Menard out and he dropkicks both through the ropes. Parker saves him from an apron knee then Bryan is crotched into the post. Parker gets a shot in on Bryan then Menard powerbombs Bryan for 2.

Claudio comes out to take care of Parker then running euros him and carries him to the back. Bryan flying knees him and wins with the yes lock.

Bryan should have had an easier time with Menard here. IT was okay but nothing special.

We see a video of Mox beating Bryan for the title and Juice Robinson does a promo. He said he beat Mox last time they were in the ring and he says he has hated Mox for 10 years. He said he has a chance to face him for the title tonight if he wins.

We get a video on MJF and Yuta fighting last week. Wheeler Yuta comes out. He said Tony Schiavone has done more for AEW than MJF ever has. Yuta then asks MJF to come fight him in his city. Yuta says once the bell rings, MJF knows he can't hang with him. Yuta mocks him and insults the local sports team then tells him to come down and take an @ss kicking.

MJF comes out. He says everyone give it up for the hometown boy and says Philly is the place you live when you can't afford New York. MJF asks Tony how he is doing and calls him a fat prick and says he won't do anything. MJF said he grew up in wrestling with Yuta on the indies and says he is one of the best wrestlers in the world. MJF said he spanked him on the mic last week. MJF says Yuta has as much charisma as the now dead Joe Frazier. He then rips the Philadelphia Phillies. He said he makes more money than everyone and is a multi-millionaire at age 26. Yuta threatens to leave him in a pool of blood and said bad things happen in Philadelphia. He comes after him then the Gunn's show up.

MJF says he will wrestle him next week, but not here. He says he will watch Mox be a terrible wrestler tonight and maybe cash his title shot in tonight. He then has the Gunn's do his catch phrase.

Yuta came across as a dorky millenial here and this wasn't anything too special.

Dutt, Lethal and Singh do a promo on Darby. They said it seems like Darby has something to prove. He said Lethal and Darby are fighting next week and Jay says let's see how well Darby walks around when he breaks his leg with the figure four. Darby said he needs to remind himself what he is capable of. Darby says he wants no Dutt or Singh for this and Jay agrees as he says he can do this on his own.

Jon Moxley vs Juice Robinson

Juice gets a title shot if he wins this. Mox spit water at a girl during his entrance and she marked out for it. Juice jumps Mox during his entrance and stomps on him. Mox is sent into the rails. Juice throws him in the ring and poses then is lariated over the top. Juice is thrown into the rails and is suplexed on the mat. MJF is shown watching from a luxury box then Juice is thrown over a table.

They trade forearms in the ring. Juice bites him and lariats him in the corner. Mox lariats him out of the corner. Juice cannonballs Mox against the rails outside. We go to PiP break and Mox is thrown over a table during it and somehow bleeds from it. We retunr from break and Juice headbutts his cut. Juice misses a cannonball off the apron and lands on a chair. Mox topes Juice then they collide with lariats. Mox RKO's him for 2.

Juice last ride powerbombs him out of the corner for 2. Juice throws Mox into the buckles then hits an unprettier for 2. Mox evades a move then knees him and reverse curb stomps him. Mox then armbars him and wins it.

The finish was out of nowhere and Mox's blade job was just silly. The match wasn't too bad but the premise was silly. AEW has this big rankings system and somehow, Juice catapults to essentially the top of it while having no AEW matches. They give him a promo to explain some of it during the show, but this didn't help people get hyped for it since the only people who would have saw this were already watching the show. Juice also lost on his debut here.

Aadam Page comes out in sissy jeans with pink flowers on it and pink t-shirt looking real gay. He goes face to face with Mox. They tease fighting and MJF interrupts. MJF says they aren't fighting each other, they are fighting to lose as he may cash his chip in. He says he is a generational talent. Wheeler Yuta comes up behind him and hits him. He throws him into a couch knocking it over then throws him over the box into the seats. Security has to break it up.

We see a highlight reel of Bandido with Tony Schiavone talking about it.

Saray comes out and says she is back. She says it feels good to be back and it's been a long, crazy road. She says she took bumps but isn't broken. She says she will create change and is the revolution. She says she doesn't care about going over time and calls all of the women out. Skye, Toni, Athena, Willow and Madison Rayne come out.

She said Toni is being used to her full potential and said she is a fighting champ and the best champ AEW has seen. Britt Baker came out with Rebel, Penelope Ford and Jamie Hayter. She said Saraya is nothing until she proves herself. She said she put her blood, sweat and tears into the company and put her neck in, but unlike Saraya, her neck was strong enough to handle it. Britt said she made such an impact that people don't even know how to say her name. Saraya then made a comeback, but it was edited out.

Britt said Toni's tag partner broke her nose and made her a conspiracy victim. Britt brings out Serena Deeb then Saray said a lumberjack match would be made for the AEW title between Deeb and Toni Storm. Saray left and stared down Britt and left. This was not a good segment and the road to making this a lumberjack match didn't work.

AEW Women's Interim Title - Lumberjack Match - Toni Storm vs Serena Deeb

Saraya joins the commentators. Deeb slaps on a side headlock and Toni bowls her out of the ring with a shoulder. Deeb is thrown in and Toni kicks and chops her.  Toni forearm flurries her and goes for a top rope backdrop but Deeb reverses it and lands on her. Toni is thrown out and stomped by the heels then the faces interrupt as we go to PiP break.

We return and Deeb is lariated and dropkicked. Toni top rope crossbodies her. Deeb is thrown in then gets german suplexed then Toni blocks a dragon screw. Deeb sits on her neck and pulls her arms then puts her in the moss covered 3 handed family gradunza. Toni germans her and Hayter pulls Toni out. Hayter decks Skye then her and Willow fight and run to the back. Deeb puts toni in the serenity lock then Athena gets in Britt's face.

Toni top rope crossbodies Deeb and Deeb rolls through it then half-crabs her. Toni running hip attacks Deeb then Toni short piledrivers her for 2. Toni gets dragon screwed on the ropes then Toni 2nd rope piledrivers her for the win.

I didn't really think the match was anything special and the set-up to it wasn't good. I didn't think the 2nd rope piledriver was needed here.

The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn are interviewed. They say the tag champs have arrived. Billy says next week is nationa lscissoring day and Max says to bring shirts, signs and scissors next week. Bowens says everyone loves The Acclaimed and they have an open contract for the belts on Rampage. Keith Lee comes in, saying Swerve is "exceptionally disgruntled". Lee says Billy interrupted their match and cost them the titles. Billy says he has two words for him - "scissor me".

AHFO argues. Andrade said he is Private Party's boss. Andrade tries to break it up and tells Jose to fix things. Jose tells them to shape up or get shipped out. Matt Hardy walks in and says what happened with Private Party felt right. He said they always felt connected and Mat tells them to get out of their deal and he will wait for them when the storm ends. Matt promises that they will do it right this time. Oh great, I can't wait to revisit that pairing again. I didn't even known AHFO was still a thin since Rush has been with Andrade.

Ricky Starks vs Eli Isom

Starks side headlocks Eli then Eli hits a corner move on him. They mess up something then Starks spears him and hits the roshambo to win it.

This was a short squash.

We see JB saying his win over Rey Fenix was one of the hardest fought matches of his life. He said he was then screwed over by people he once liked the most. He said he will get both Luchasaurus and Christian.

ROH World Title - Chris Jericho (c) vs Bandido

Jericho flips him off on the handshake then lariats him. Jericho is thrown over the top and Bandido topes him. Bandido hits a phosbury flop on him outside. We go to PiP break and return. Jericho comes off the top and is dropkicked. Bandido does a one minute long delayed suplex. Bandido goes up top and frogsplashes him for 2.

Jericho hits corner chops and lariats and Bandido takes a codebreaker after jumping off the 2nd rope. They fight on the apron and Bandido hurricanrana's Jericho to the floor. We go to PiP break and return.

Bandido has blood on his mask and sunset bombs him off the 2nd rope. Jericho lionsaults him for 2. Bandido hits a crucifix bomb then Jericho blocks his move and boston crabs him. Jericho stands on the bottom rope and suplexes him in and Bandido enzugiri's him as he is on the top rope. Bandido does the ultimo guerrero special moonsault bodyslam off the top on Jericho for 2. Bandido puts him on his shoulders and rolls him into a knee to the face then he does a 21plex, which he handsprings over Jericho's back into the top rope then rebounds and germans him. Jericho pokes him in the eye and pulls his mask down but is rolled up. Jericho puts him in the lion tamer and wins it.

They did way too much here and there wasn't a lot of selling. Jericho really took some big bumps here and really went out of his way here doing different stuff than usual. I appreciated them trying to explain the reasoning for this match, but they didn't do so until the the show when they could have hyped it up some. They also had Bandido lose here in his debut and had him in the main when most people wouldn't know who he is.

Bobby Cruise gets in the ring and announces Jericho as the winner. Jericho said the Ring of Jericho era has become. He says he will destroy its legends and desecrate it's legacy. He said he will continue with Bryan Danielson on October 12th. He said he will beat every ROH champ, ref and commentator. He also said he would destroy every ROH ring announcer then nails Bobby Cruise and hits a judas effect on him to close the show.

Overall thoughts: A very wrestling heavy show. The show had issues with Juice and Bandido losing on their debut and basically being thrown out there with little explanation. Bandido was in the main event despite never wrestling before in AEW. Adam Page wore the sissiest looking outfit he has ever worn and the women's segment sucked. I wasn't a big fan of this though credit to Jericho for trying hard in the main.

WWE NXT 9/27/2022

WWE NXT 9/27/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/wwe-nxt-9202022.html

Ilja Dragunov comes out in a black suit and turtleneck. Drag said the last time he was in NXT he beat Walter to become champ. He said pain has always been his best friend. He said he returned to repeat history and achieve his destiny one more time by beating an unbeatable machine to claim gold and said it's Bron Breakker.

JD McDonagh comes out. He says he's a sneaky rat who followed him to the US. Drag said he kicked him out of NXT UK and JD says his body was so battered from him that he lost his title and didn't get to keep it anyway. JD said it was his time and not Ilja's. He told him to stay where he has been - on the sidelines. He said he will end his career if he has to and Bron Breakker comes out.

Bron welcomes Ilja to NXT. Bron says his NXT title isn't going anywhere. JD says he is the #1 contender for the NXT title. The crowd chants for a triple threat when he says he has an idea for it then JD says Ilja and Bron should beat the snot out of each other then he will take his shot. Bron implies he won't fall for that and makes a reference to Scott Steiner's math promo, saying JD has a 33 1/3rd chance of winning in a triple threat and Bron makes the challenge for it. He said he will see them at Halloween Havoc.

We cut ot the back with Briggs, Jensen and Gallus fighting and the fight being broken up.

We see Toxic Attraction in the back. Mandy says Fallon is about to find out what happens when you cross the baddest b!tch in NXT and calls out Alba Fyre during it.

The Schism does a promo on Grimes. They said he refused their embrace and now the same limbs that reached out to him will bind him. They say he brought this on himself and they say they have to make an example out of him. Gacy says Grimes will be back where he started - alone.

Fallon Henley vs Mandy Rose

Mandy picks her up and takes her down. Fallon gets in her face and side headlocks her. Mandy cartwheels as she is seated on the mat and dropkicks her. Mandy footshoves her and facekicks her then Fallon comes back with a chop. Fallon slides out of the ring and forearms her. Fallon fallaway slams her. Mandy hits corner spears then suplexes her. Many abdominal stretches her then picks her up for a side slam but suplexes her out of it. Fallon hiptosses her then lariats her. Fallon back elbows her in the corner and they kind of collide with forearms.

Fallon hits a reverse slingblade and they trade forearms.  Fallon hits kicks on her then Mandy hits a nice pumping knee to win it.

Not perfect but okay enough for these two. There wasn't a great story but I thought Fallon had some decent comebacks here.

Mandy does a promo on Alba Fyre. She said she was jealous that Mandy conquered two continents titles while she was playing with logs in fire. Mandy said Alba can keep the fire going, but she starts them. Alba appears on the tron. She said she doesn't do verbal warnings and shows a bat on fire. She says she is more of a visual woman then we see her lighting up the words "#AndNew" to imply she will beat her.
Apollo Crews does a promo on Grayson Waller. He said he tried to hurt his vision but his presence stopped Waller from getting a chance at the NA title. He said everything he sees is still hazy, but then we see a shot of Waller with two red eyes. He then tells Waller to keep an eye out because "I'm not done with you b!tch".

Ilja Dragunov and Xyon Quinn talk in the back. Xyon isn't impressed and introduces himself as the x-factor of NXT. He said he heard a lot about him but the hype was for nothing. He said in the book of Xyon, Ilja can't carry the weight as champ. Xyon said he has never even gotten a chance to carry the ball and he thinks it's because they are worried no one can take it from him. Ilja says Xyon has unlimited potential but is a mental moron. Ilja says no one wil lever call Xyon a champ. He then says the ball is in Xyon's court.

Wes Lee vs Tony D'Angelo

Wes came out with another cancer kid. Tony throws Wes to start. Wes puts a side headlock on and is rolled and we see Trick/Melo watching. Tony misses an elbow drop then wes bodyscissor takedowns him. wes dropkicks him. Wes goes for a dive outside and Stacks blocks the way then Wes dives on him. Stacks tries to go into the ring but Tony prevents it. Tony tells him enough then Stacks pushes Wes off. Stacks is kicked out by the ref and we go to PiP break.

Tony grounds him with a bulldog choke then Tony is tripped into the 2nd buckle. Tony goes down and doesn't get up. Wes wins via ref stop due to injury.

This really wasn't much before the injury.

Melo and Trick are interviewed. Melo said he doesn't feel anything about Wes then Oro Mensah walks in. He said he looks forward to facing Melo. Melo says he knows who he is and they can get him a t-shirt, but say at Halloween Havoc, it's every man for themselves. Oro says he is looking forward to it.

We get a Sol Ruca promo with her playing guitar, surfing and doing flips on the beach. She debuts next.

Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett take us to a "Day in the Life of Pretty Deadly" segment. They get up at 10AM and eat in bed. They say they feed each other and it's implied they sleep in the same bed. They brush each others hair, drink tea and go to the gym. They don't lift heavy weights, they say they are works of art and not animals. They then say they appreciate each other. I didn't really like this. I liked the idea of showing us what they do outside of they ring but they strongly implied they were gay and that was never part of the gimmick.

Sol Ruca vs Amari Miller

This is Sol's TV debut, though she has been on Level Up. She does a split on the apron then rolls into a handstand and walks.

Amari grabs an armlock and pushes her down then Sol sunset flips her. Sol gets her back kick caught and tries to flight out but messes up and falls on her butt. Sol then back rolls off the ropes into a headscissors. She flips out of a hiptoss and facebusters her. Sol hits a sunset flip and Amari reverses it then is reversed. Sol goes into the ropes then backflips off and rolls backwards. She then dropkicks her and Amari hits kicks.

Amari strangleholds her and monkey flips her. Sol armdrags her and hits flying shoulders. Sol dropkicks her then forward flips into a corner splash on her. She then holds onto the corner ropes and flips on her into an legdrop on the butt to win.

The finish was bad and Sol's flip botch was bad, but she has a lot of potential and I think she will be just fine.

We see Gallus arguing with security and one of the Coffey's headbutts a security guard.

Joey Gacy vs Cameron Grimes

Grimes hits kicks early and flurries him on the ropes. Gacy pulls Grimes out of the ring then pounds and stomps on him. Gacy hits punches and Grimes running forearms him. Grimes runnning knees him then flips over the Dyad to dive on Gacy. Gacy spinning uranage's him then ddt's him. Grimes armdrags out of a uranage then superkicks him. Grimes has to fight off the Dyad then Gacy does his handspring lariat and wins it.

It was quick and a lot was going on with the Dyad. It wasn't anything too special as a match and was more to push this storyline.

Grayson Waller is interviewed. He said he saw Crews' vision and said his eyes can't get red like Crews saw. He said his eyes are emerald and not red. McKenzie said he shouldn't show up if he is that worried but Waller says he has the next episode of his show next week and said he will just hire extra security.

Nikkita Lyons vs Kayden Carter

Carter runs into her butt early and Lyons shakes it. Lyons picks her up and takes her down. Carter cartwheels over her and shakes her butt then Lyons kips up. Lyons hits some shots and spin kicks her in the face. Lyons rolls into a handstand and headscissors her over. Carter armdrags her, kicks her in the leg and rolls her up. Lyons michinoku drivers her for 2. Carter diving facekicks her through the middle rope. Carter walks up the buckles but is kicked and falls off then Lyons spin kicks her and splits on her. Lyons gets the win.

Really wasn't bad for the women and both girls did some things they don't usually do here. Lyons' roll into a handstand and headscissors was interesting and I don't know if I saw Kayden walk the buckles before.

We go to Chase U at a pep rally. They are all hyped up outside and Chase talks about beating Carmelo Hayes. He said he has earned a spot in the NA title qualifying match. He says his opponent is Von Wagner, but he will beat him and become the new NA champ. A press member named Dave asks him a question about facing Von Wagner and Chase flips out at him. He said every time he touches Von Wagner, he's going to think of his stupid, smug face.

We see Ilja Dragunov in the back.

We get a video package on Nathan Frazer. He said he has been in overtime before in soccer and said him and Axiom are all square. We see clips of him playing soccer. He says Axiom will do moves we never have seen before in their next match, but so will he. He said the clock is ticking down and the game is on the line.

Xyon Quinn vs Ilja Dragunov

Drag does a nice rolling leg takedown into a headlock. Drag hiptosses him then uses his leg for a side throw. Drag hits hard chops and Xyon hiptosses him out of an abdominal stretch. Xyon punch combos him in the corner and does his double forearm block to knock him down. Xyon backbreakers him from the side and jumping splashes him for 2. Xyon slaps him hard and takes an enzugiri.

Ilja is thrown into the ropes but does a tiger feint then running forearms him. Drag germans him and hits a nice suplex. He then falling drop forearms him. Drag does his running head battering ram and wins it.

This was one of the better things Xyon has ever been involved in and Ilja did a good job here. While some of the NXT UK guys aren't working in NXT, he is.

We see Damon Kemp heading to the ring and see the Creed's hugging and hyping up.

Wendy Choo does a promo. She said she doesn't apologize for sticking up for herself to Lash Legend. Lash said she doesn't have a problem with how Wendy dresses and acts, but says when Lash has something to say, get out of her way. Lash says when you p!ss her off, your head is kicked off your shoulders. Wendy says she will teach Lash humility next week. Lash says Wendy is an athlete, but not one like her. Wendy says we will hear nothing after next week when she shuts up Lash. Lash says she will put Wendy to bed and we both see them saying okay at the same time. I thought this was a fun little segment.

Brutus Creed vs Damon Kemp

Kemp has new music and gets jumped on his entrance. They fight outside then Brutus double leg takedowns him. Brutus hits Karelin's lift then takes a stun gun on the ropes. Kemp kicks him and cravates him. Brutus backdrops him while he holds it on but Kemp holds onto the cravate. Kemp bangs Brutus' head off the buckles and works the cravate more.

Brutus slams him as he holds it then goes into the 2nd buckle. Kemp mocks Brutus' walk then takes a pounce out of the ring. Kemp grabs a chair and hits Brutus with it and gets DQ'd.

Kemp hits him with it more and yells into the camera that if you want some, come get some.

This was short and was mostly all cravate work. It was entertaining but I don't know if it fit the storyline.

We see Sanga and Quincy Elliot in the back. Sanga is upset he lost last week and Quincy tells him to keep his head up. Xyon Quinn then walks in. Quincy says he doesn't see Xyon's x-factor that he talks about and walks off.

Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark are interviewed .Lyons said they are coming for the tag titles. Zoey said they are unstoppable. Toxic Attraction comes in and says they aren't ready. They said T-A lost the tag titles and aren't champs. Mandy said they should shut up as there are 3 of them and 2 of them. Alba Fyre then lights a fire and says the odds are even. T-A then leaves.

Cora Jade and Grayson Waller are on The Grayson Waller Effect next week along with Andre Chase vs Von Wagner in an N-A Title qualifier and a State of the Commonwealth address with Pretty Deadly.

Pub Rules Match - Gallus vs Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen

They waste no time to start fighting here. Jensen is hit with a rope and Briggs throws a trash can at Mark. Wolg gets double shouldered and all 4 brawl again. Gallus gets knocked out of the ring and set up a table. Briggs and Jensen then grab a table and put it in the corner. They stand off and kind of stare each other down then B&J get chairs.

Gallus gets hit with chairs and go outside the ring. During the PiP break, Gallus takes baseball slides outside. Jensen is thrown shoulder first into the post. Wolf and Briggs fight on the apron and Briggs jumps off the apron into a Mark forearm. Briggs takes a gamengiri into a slam on the floor.

Jensen fights off a 1v2 and is shouldered into a senton. Jensen has a chair knee'd into his face. Briggs is catapulted into a forearm then B&J get whipped with belts. B&J get the belts and give it back to them. They then slide out and punch them on the ropes. They find empty beer glasses and hit Gallus with them. Mark is put upside down in a trash can then Joe tries to interfere but is fackeicked off the apron into a table. Wolf then goes into the table in the corner. Mark has the trash can on his head and takes a high/low and Jensen grabs the win.

It was okay, but it was slower and not really the big match they aimed for here. Gallus just didn't really do a lot and didn't seem super interested in this one. B&J were okay and I think this was supposed to be a big moment for them, but it didn't really come across as such.

Gallus is pushed away from the ring by security and they start decking security and refs. Gallus is arrested and ushered out.

Overall thoughts: Felt like a long episode with a lot of things going on. We had some decent matches here and it was an okay show overall.

WWE NXT Level Up 9/23/2022

WWE NXT Level Up 9/23/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/wwe-nxt-level-up-9162022.html

Dante Chen vs Bryson Montana

Chen I think had a new and bigger entrance and Montana has an interesting entrance with orange, black and blue lights. He's looking built here.

BM shoulders him over to start and poses then throws him around. Chen side headlocks him and pulls him down by sliding between the legs and holding on. Chen sticks with the side headlock and is pulled down then kips back up. Chen headlock takeovers him by walking up the ropes then hits a nice dropkick. BM then hits a nice lariat and hits mounted punches. BM sideslams him then michinoku drivers him for 2. BM bearhugs him then slams him.

BM puts him in the bearhug again then Chen back body drops him. Chen hits a punch flurry to the body and lariats him. Chen then pump kicks him from the side. Chen  throws his wristbands off and dos a silly hulk up before hitting a double chop to win.

The finish was kind of silly but it was an okay match. Not great or anything and Chen got beaten up until he got his big comeback to win.

Chen then does another silly motion after.

Myles Borne is interviewed. This is his first interview. He said he has gotten up after all adversity and said he is still looking for his first win after 7 tries. He says Andre Chase is an experienced veteran, but he has a teachable moment for him. I've been a big supporter of Myles and he talked in an unusual way here. They reveal he is deaf later which explained it. I really feel bad for the guy and I hope this this doesn't come off as insensitive.

Valentina Feroz vs Indi Hartwell

Feroz's partner Leon got injured right when they were showing some improvement and we'll have to see what happens next.

Feroz grabs a leg early then rolls and spins out of a wristlock. Indi picks her up and drops her then rolls her up. Feroz goes for a dropkick but Indi holds onto the ropes. Indi tries to suplex her, Feroz tries to go downwards to block it and Indi deadlift lifts her into a suplex. Feroz hits some arm drags and spears her. Feroz dropkicks her then crossbodies her. Feroz jumps at her and gets spinebustered then Indi wins it.

It was short and not too good as expected, but the crowd likes Indi.

Myles Borne vs Andre Chase

Borne has different gear on today, ditching the singlet for black tights with white boots and some blue designs. They said he's been making noise at the Performance Center and they wonder what the limit is for him. I liked the old look better.

Borne takes him down, alligator rolls him then fireman's carry slams him and kips up. Chase shoulders him over then firemans carry slams him. Chase says this is a teachable moment then does a hammer lock and hooks his arm with his legs. Borne does a cool mid-air twist to change up the hammerlock then headflips up. Chase goes under his legs then cartwheels. Chase throws him then gives him his legs and flips him backwards into a pin.

Chase celebrates and Borne dropkicks him. Borne does a nice Japanese armdrag and they say Borne went ot the same school as Michael Jordan. Chase uses the ropes to flip out of an armhold then thye trade punches. Chase uraken's  him then russian legsweeps him. Chase does the C-H-A-S-E-U stomps and top rope crossbodies him for the win.

Really fun match here. They had some top notch technical wrestling here and both guys looked good. This was maybe the best Chase ever looked on this show and the best match Borne has had so far.

Chase helps up Borne after and shakes his hand.

Overall thoughts: The main was pretty good and honestly worth a watch. The opener was acceptable and the girls match wasn't too good.

AEW Rampage 9/23/2022

AEW Rampage 9/23/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/aew-rampage-9162022.html

This is a 2 hour special with the rest of the matches from Arthur Ashe Stadium. 2 hours of wrestling at 10PM on a weekday is asking a lot, but more wrestling is a good thing.

No DQ - The House of Black vs Darby Allin and Sting

The HoB's are jumped from behind by the faces then Darby is gorilla pressed into the ring from the apron. Buddy is thrown out of the ring then Sting is thrown into the steps. 2 tables are set up next to each other outside. Darby is sat on the top rope and then falls out from a chop. Sting gets slammed and fights off a 2v1.

Sting splashes Buddy then Brod yaccidentally splashes Budy. Sting lariats Buddy and Darby top rope sunset bombs Brody. Darby goes for a tope on Buddy and takes a very hard shot when goes for the dive and then takes a bad fall on the floor. Sting goes up top and is pushed off through a table. Julia Hart comes in the ring with handcuffs and Sting gets cuffed. We go to a PiP break and Darby is thrown off of Buddy's back then lariated.

Brody cannonballs Darby in the corner. Darby crawls out and instead of them trying to win against Sting 2v1, the HoB goes for Darby. Darby is dragged up the apron onto the stage. Darby evades a 2v1 then HoB goes into a light holder. Darby climbs the light holder and coffin drops Buddy off of it. Brody knocks Darby down with a punch. Darby climbs the entrance thing and goes for a coffin drop but is caught. Brody sleepers him and both go off the stage onto tables.

Buddy gets Sting's back and Darby is bleeding from the back of the head. Sting is put in a chair and the lights go out as Buddy is about to hit him with a bat. The Great Muta comes out, of all people. Muta and Sting stare down then Muta points at Buddy. Muta hits a dragon screw on Buddy then green mists him. Julia Hart falls off the apron somehow and mostly misses the table, landing hard on the conrete. Sting reverse ddt's Buddy and picks up the win.

The HoB not trying to beat Sting 2v1 was a little silly, but it was cool to see Muta and it was a wild hardcore match. Lots of big spots here, blood and I think both Darby and Julia took floor bumps that they weren't supposed to take.

2point0 (Matt Menard and Angelo Parker) vs Hook and Action Bronson

The Action Bronson thing hasn't done well. Unless I missed something, they never really explained who he is or why we should care.

Bronson raps Hook's theme for their entrance. Hook takes a facekick early then shoulder throws Parker. Hook flips out of a hiptoss then gutwrench suplexes Parker. Bronson knocks of both opponents then splashes both in the corner at the same time. Hook northern lights suplexes Menard into an STF but Parker breaks it up. Hook then takes a running knee out of the backbreaker position.

Parker leg lariats Hook and Parker jumps off of Menard's back with an elbow drop. Menard and Hook lariat each other and Hook exploders Menard. Bronson running shoulders menard and lariats Parker. Bronson running powerslams Parker and pounces Parker hard with some serious speed. Hook release perfectplexes one of his opponents then puts Parker in the redrum. Bronson puts Menard in the redrum at the same time and they grab the win.

It was short and was what it should have been. Bronson got to look good and didn't expose himself and the faces won.

Mark Sterling is complaining about Wardlow in the ring with Woods and Nese. He said he isn't getting powerbombed tonight and they will make quick work of "Warjoe"

Wardlow and Samoa Joe vs Josh Woods and Tony Nese

Wardlow and Joe run down the ramp and the fight starts. osh and Wardlow trade shots and Woods germans him. Wardlow belly to belly suplexes Josh then overhead suplexes him. Wardlow spinebusters him and goes over the top with him on a lariat. Nese misses a top rope moonsault on a standing Joe, who just moves.

Nese brings down Joe's throat over the ropes then takes a corner uranage. Joe muscle busters Nese and picks up the quikc win.

Woods jumps Joe after then Joe takes a 2v1. Wardlow is hobbling in and lariats both. Wardlow goes for a powerbomb and Mark Sterling hits Wardlow with the title belt. Mark gets stuck between Joe and Wardlow then gets powerbombed three times.

Wardlow has really cooled down and they totally messed up his big push. It was a short squash as it should have been, but Wardlow should be in the main event here, not this nonsense.

Jungle Boy talks. He says Rey Fenix is one of the best wrestlers today and talks about trading tag titles with the Lucha Bros. He said he is looking forward to testing himself against Rey and promises a spectacle.

Jungle Boy vs Rey Fenix

JD headscissors him off the 2nd rope from behind early and dropkicks him. Rey flips off the top rope into an armdrag and they trade forearms. Rey hook kicks JB then baseball slides him out. They fight outside and someone is using a mexican airhorn from lucha libre. Rey pulls on both of JB's arms and JB armdrags him. They trade chops in the ring and JB lariats him. JB brainbusters him for 2. JB topes Rey then hits a superkick and a poisonrana. Rey comes back right up and rolls into a cutter on him.

they trade shots and JB snap hurricanranas him out of a double underhook. Rey  is dropkicked on the ropes and they fight on the apron. Rey rolls and dives off the apron and is caught with a superkick. Things slow down and they trade chops then forearms. Rye drops him on his knee then does a gori special into a cutter for 2. Rey gets off the ramp and does an outside 2nd rope twisting springboard crossbody for 2 to JB on the inside. JB 2nd rope powerbombs him the running forearms him.

Rey upkicks him and superkicks him then hits 2 of three amigos JB does a driver on him for 2. Rey top rope frogsplashes him for 2 and 2nd rope spin kicks him. Rey goes for something like a muscle buster and is rolled up for the JB win.

This went on way too long and really dragged during the chop and forearm sections.

Christian's music hit and he came out in a sling after. Luchasaurus came up from behind and knocked him over. He then hit a burning hammer on him. Christian said NY always makes him smile by being loud and obnoxious, but says that's all that they ever do. He then told them to sit down like the b!tches they are while he conducts business.

CC accuses JB of injuring his arm and jumping him. He said JB will never outsmart or beat him and told him not to come back next week. CC tells Lucha to end him and Lucha chokeslams JB.

We see the JAS celebrating Jericho's ROH Title win. They say they will have a celebration on Dynamite. Daniel Garcia interrupts and says he has to tell him something but Jericho isn't interested. Alex Marvez then gets champagne poured on his head and a cigar put in his mouth.

Eddie Kingston vs Sammy Guevara

Sammy tells Eddie he's sorry then calls him a fat piece of sh!t. Eddie bites him then throws him into the steps outside. Eddie fish hooks him and hits headbutts outside.  Eddie is back body dropped off the apron to the floor then Sammy running kicks him from the apron. We go to PiP break and return with Sammy suplexing Eddie.

Eddie hits back elbows. Tay gets involved then Sammy double springboard cutters him for 2. Eddie hits a stiff lariat then hits machine gun chops. Sammy goes for another double springboard but is caught and backdropped.  Sammy hits pumping knees and a superkick then Eddie release half and half suplexes him. Eddie uraken's him 3 times then wins with the stretch plum. Eddie refused to break after and Jerry Lynn came down to break it. Security comes down and Edide beats them up.

I liked this one. They did a good job of putting over that they hated each other and Eddie was real stiff with him. It didn't go too long so Sammy didn't get too stupid either.

TBS Title - Jade Cargill (c) vs Diamante

Dia kicks her in the leg early then takes a big knee. Dia has her head banged off the buckle then Jade euro uppercuts her. Dia pounds on her in the corner. Jade pump kicks her then Dia baseball slides her out of the ring. Dia dives off the buckles onto her outside, gets caught and takes an F-5 on the apron. Jade hits her jade end and wins it to go to 38-0.

It was short and decent for what it was. It had sloppy moments as usual.

Trina slaps Diamante after and shakes hands with Jade.

Golden Ticket Battle Royale

Adam Page ended up winning this one to get a title shot by hitting a samurai driver on Rush on the apron. It wasn't as long as some of the others and they mostly kept things moving here. Page got jumped on his entrance by various heels. Page really has done nothing since he lost the title and I guess this is a way to get him back in the mix, but this was really out of nowhere and I don't know how much it will really do for him.

We get a split screen promo for Hobbs/Starks. Hobbs says this is the same Starks he beat in 4 minutes and said nothing has changed. Starks says he is better than a 4 minute match and promises it won't happen again. Starks says he will close the book of Hobbs tonight and make sure he puts his lights out.

Lights Out Match - Powerhouse Hobbs vs Ricky Starks

Jim Cornette mentioned what makes a lights out match a lights out match and they did it here by turning off the lights and saying anything goes from here. Starks gets a girl talking over clips of him wrecking stuff in his house.

They hockey fight to start and Starks running Thesz presses him and pounds on him. Starks slides under the bottom rope and lariats Hobbs on the floor then pushes him into the steps. He kisses some old ladies hand, who he's probably related to. Hobbs neckbreakers him over the knee then throws a table over his back.

We go to PiP break with weapons being put in the ring. Hobbs oklahoma stampede's him into a chair in the ropes then is pushed into a chair in the ropes. Starks tornado ddt's him and Hobbs low blows him. Starks low blows him then is back body dropped on the top edges of two sitting chairs. Hobbs running powerslams him on a chair and they fight on the ramp and stage. Starks runs into the entrance way on a failed spear then Hobbs pulls off an LED light.

Hobbs gets speared into a table in the ring after missing a shot with the LED light. Starks hits him with an LED light then roshambo's him partially on a chair to win.

It was a good hardcore match here. Nothing great, but we had some highlights including Starks getting back body dropped on chair edges and Hobbs going through a table.

Overall thoughts: It was a fun special with a bunch of different matches and variety. 2 hours on a weekday night is asking a lot though.

WOW Women of Wrestling Season 3, Episode 1

WOW Women of Wrestling Season 3, Episode 1

I used to be a big fan of the old WOW and was hoping it would return. We are in different times though and unfortunately, the current social structure of the world is not going to allow that version of WOW to exist.

We see them talk about the original WOW and how WOW is to showcase female athletes. They talk about wrestlers like The Best and Jungle Girl and we see pictures of Moolah. they run down more of the girls on the show and we start the show.

Dave McClane welcomes us to the show in front of a packed crowd. Stephen Dickey and AJ Mendez are our commentators along with McClane.

WOW Tag Title Tournament 1st Round - The Tonga Twins vs  Chantilly Chella and Randi Rah Rah

The twins get a haka dance entrance. Randi is one of the original WOW girls I think. Mark Harris is our ref.

They have a small ring here and Rand is thrown off one of the Twins' back. Randi spinning headscissors her and Chella hits kicks on a twin. Chella hits dropkicks then is caught coming off the apron and powerbombed on the apron. Chella takes a double chop from both opponents then is thrown into the corner. Chella takes shots in the corner then twisting 2nd rope crossbodies a twin.

Randi gets the hot tag in and hits a step up enzugiri then she forward cartwheels onto a twin. Randi misses a 2nd rope moonsault and the twins hit running hip attacks on their opponents in the corner. Randi takes a samoan drop + neckbreaker combo and the Twins pick up the win.

It was okay but they didn't know which Twin was which and didn't bother to tell us. It was just a simple match here with the faces getting a decent amount in.

We see clips of Kandi Krush shadow boxing and are told we will see a video of her.

We get an interview on Kandi. She looks weird, she's from Minnesota and she talks about her swimming background. She was a synchronized swimmer and said she left home at 16 to chase Olympic dreams. She said she was overtrained during her Olympic training and said the training was "toxic". She then said she was invited to learn how to box. She said her family didn't want her to box and then said she went into wrestling next.  This was really long and I thought they should have focused more on the wrestling aspects.

We see clips of Kandi hitting a punching bag and a Coach comes in. she blows her whistle, calls her noodle arms and says, "you think you are going to knock someone out with those punches?".

Coach Campanelli vs Kandi Krush

Kandi has very big boxing globes and we see that htis is a tribute to her grandmother.

Coach stalls early then Kandi hits a headlock takeover. Kandi shoulders her over then rolls her up. Kandi hits bad armdrags and they blow a clothesline spot. Coach pulls her down and rams her own self into the buckle. Kandi goes into the buckle then Coach slams her.

Coach works Kandi's hand then spinning neckbreakers her. Coach pulls both of her arms back and Kandi lariats her. Kandi F-U's her for 2. Kandi superman punches her and wins it.

This wasn't good. Kandi's really green.

We see clips of two sisters named Lori and Lindsay Carlson. They are riding in a nice car in Miami then wearing bikini's. We are told they will be here next week.

We see a female wrestler rapping. She's terrible. Her name is BK Rhythm and she says she's a rapper/wrestler. She said wrestling is like battle rapping and says she uses her lyrics to win over everyone. She said she got the chance at doing WOW through a tryout and impressed David McClane.

BK Rhythm vs Vivian Rivera

BK raps before her match and she's terrible at it. Viv flips her over her back and armdrags her. Viv trips her then does a bad la magistral. Viv sunset flips her but is punched. BK gets shots in then abdominal stretches her, then Viv sideslams her for 2. Viv snapmares her then rolls her into an armbar.

VIv rolls out of a clothesline then kicks and spinning neckbreakers her. Viv suplexes her and wins with a roll-up.

It was short, simple and not too good at all.

We see clips of The Beast throwing a rock.

We go to break and return and see Beast lifting and throwing cement blocks. She's the WOW champ and we see clips of her in the ring. We then see her pulling a train car.

Wee se clips of next weeks episode with a wrestler named Foxy Fierce.

Adriana Gambino vs The Beast

Gambino is working a mafia gimmick. AG escapes Beast early then Beast throws her by the hair. Beast misses a corner charge and is rolled up. AG puts her leg in the ropes and pulls on it then Beast hits a nice spinebuster.  Beast reverses her suplex and then suplexes her. AG corner splashes her then Beast blocks her gut punch. Best corner splashes her then sitout powerbombs her for the win.

It was short. Beast looked pretty good here and they didn't do too much. I don't know too much about Beast, but I could see someone picking her up.

Rina Del Rey comes up from behind her and then release german suplexes Beast. Beast lands right on her neck hard and then gets up. Beast is fuming in the ring as the show ends.

Overall thoughts: They kept the over the top gimmicks and kept the entrance videos like they did in WOW. They cut the hot blondes and the fanservice though, which was a lot of the appeal of the original WOW. It may change, but they spent a lot of time introducing the various wrestlers and they are treating the women as more serious wrestlers. While that's fine, the women aren't too good in the ring. I don't have a lot of hope for this version of WOW. I don't think the men want to watch less attractive women have bad matches and the reddit types are way too invested in AEW to support another promotion. I think their best bet is kind of becoming a charity case like the WNBA and hoping corporate interests outrank public interest.

AEW Dynamite 9/21/2022 Grand Slam

AEW Dynamite 9/21/2022 Grand Slam

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/aew-dynamite-9142022.html

They have a nice stage for this one.

ROH Title - Claudio Castagnoli vs Chris Jericho

They shake hands and Jericho slaps him then CC hits euros. CC hits running euros in the corner then gorilla presses him and crotches him on the top rope. CC then running facekicks him to the floor. CC running euros him on the floor and bangs his head off the mat. Jericho hides behind Cary Silkin outside then pushes him int oCC and hits him. Jericho then pushes Cary down.

Jericho comes off the top and takes a euro. Jericho double throat thrusts him then goes for a spring move but takes a euro. They trade forearms on the apron then CC is suplexed off the apron to the floor. We go to PiP break. Jericho poses on him and catapults his neck into the bottom rope. Jericho top rope hurricanrana's CC for 2. CC hits an elbow flurry on him then sharpshooters him. CC hits a ricola bomb for 2. CC springboards off the 2nd rope and takes a codebreaker.

Jericho boston crabs him then CC does Bryan Danielson's stomps on him. CC does a giant swing on him and does a bad catapult into the ropes. CC euros him for 2 and Jerich ograbs his bat. CC blocks the bat shot and flips out of a back body drop. Jericho low blows CC then judas effect spinning back elbows him and wins it.

They did a lot here and the suplex off the apron really should have stopped it. There wasn't a lot of story to it and the dirty finish was lame.

We get a promo for Mox vs Danielson. Bryan talks about the 4 people he lost to. Mox says he knows he is going to win.

AEW Tag Titles - Swerve In Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) vs The Acclaimed

Lee throws Bowens to start. Lee runs through a Bowens lariat and hurricanrana's him. Max armdrags Lee and Swerve breaks up The Acclaimed scissors' handshake. We go to PiP break and return. Max fights off a 2v1 and powerslams Swerve. Max superkicks Lee then suplexes him. Swerve kicks Bowens in the back of the head and Bowens hurricanrana's Lee. Bowens rolls up Swerve then deadlifts him into a buckle bomb. Lee headbutts Bowens.

Lee throws Bowens on the ramp then spinebusters Max. Lee misses a 2nd rope moonsault. Swerve accidentally hits Lee in the head with a boombox but misses. Bowens top rope blockbusters Lee. Maxcomes off the top and holds his knee. Max backdrops Swerve. Swerve botches something on Max off the top then Max is thrown into a Swerve sitout powerbomb. Swerve springboard 450's to the outside on The Acclaimed then Billy Gunn stares him down.

Bowens hits Swerve outside then Billy fameasser's Swerve. Bowens does his arrival move on Swerve then Max top rope elbows Swerve to win.

This was a mess. They just couldn't stop botching and screwing up here and we had a dirty finish on top of it, hurting some of The Acclaimed's big moment.

FTR are interviewed. Cash said all 4 guys killed it and said they want to cash in after being #1 contenders for so long. The Gunn's then came in and made fun of them and did their top guys out line.

Wheeler Yuta is interviewed. MJF interrupts immediately. MJF said the devil has arrived and called the crowd devil worshippers. MJF said Yuta never got a reaction like he just did and said he never will. MJF said he is a generational talent. Yuta says MJF is the king of the low hanging fruit and mentioned that MJF got engaged. He says MJF's wife is smart but says she may know he is a spineless, worthless, piece of garbage. Yuta says MJF's wife will walk out on him. MJF said he went from drying paint to a pet rock personality. MJF called the BCC the Blackpool Cuckold Club. He said Mox and Bryan aren't fighting for the world title, but fighting to lose the title to him. He insulted the various BCC members and said Yuta should ask Regal how to pop pills. Yuta took a shot at him and MJF knocked him down then pushed over Tony Schiavone. Yuta then speared MJF and pounded on him. W. Morrissey then choked Yuta and held him for an MJF shot.

Jade Cargill is interviewed. Diamante comes in and says she will want to know who her frined is and brings in Trina. I guess she is a rapper? Jade said she will see them at Rampage. Trina says she will see her now then says she will see her Friday. Tony somehow went from the stage to the back up to commentary here in less than 2 minutes.

AEW All Atlantic Title - Pac (c) vs Orange Cassidy

OC throws his glasses at Pac to start then rolls him up. Pac evades an orange punch. OC puts his hands in his pockets and does his stupid weak kick spot. OC then dropkicks him with his hands in his pockets and Pac dropkicks him back. Pac stomp flurries him in the corner and foot chokes him.

Pac bangs OC's head off the apron then throws him into the post. Pac phosbury flops on him then top rope shotgun dropkicks him. We go to PIP break. Pac rebound suplexes him during the break then deadlift germans him. Pac goes up top and OC lifts his legs up while he is up there. OC rolls him up and tries a tornado ddt then hits a cutter. OC topes him then diving ddt's him off the top. OC ddt's him again for 2.

OC hits an orange punch and Pacp icks up the win soon after.

This was the usual Orange Cassidy crap with him screwing around and then pretending to care later in a title match of all things. I was not a fan of this.

AEW Women's Title - Toni Storm (c) vs. Serena Deeb vs. Athena vs. Dr. Britt Baker

Britt is superkicked into a german early and Athena rolls up Toni. Deeb tries to pin both of them at the same time then Deeb leg locks Toni while abdominal stetching Athena. She then suplexes Athena while keeping the leg lock on Toni. Britt spinning forearms Athena and sling blades Deeb. Toni shotgun dropkicks Britt then Toni underhook suplexes Britt. We get a tower of doom spot with Athena powerbombing two girls while they suplex Deeb.

We go to PiP break and return. Toni and Deeb single leg crab Britt and Athena at the same time then do horrible strikes on each other while doing it. Deeb hits bad chops on Toni and Toni germans her. Britt swinging neckbreakers toni then is dropkicked from the side by Athena. Serena dragon screws Athena on the ropes then spinning neckbreakers Toni for 2. Deeb puts Toni in the serenity lock  and Britt superkicks her.

Athena has Deeb and Britt lifted at the same time and fallaway slams both. Athena powerbombs Toni on her knees for 2. Athena throws out Deeb then Toni tornado ddt's Athena. Britt rolls up Toni then Toni rolls her up for the win.

They had some clever spots here but it was a short 4 way and this wasn't going to be anything too special.

Britt attacks Toni after and has a nasty busted nose or mouth. Jaymie Hayter comes down and interrupts Britt then they both nail Hayter. Deeb helps out with the beat down  then WWE's Paige/Saraya comes out. She looks a lot different than the last time we saw her and in a good way for a change. Paige had a career ending injury and I don't know how she's going to be able to wrestle, but even if she can, I don't think she will make much of a difference.

We get a Darby vignette and they run down the Rampage card.

AEW Title - Jon Moxley vs Bryan Danielson

They lock up and Mox headlock takeovers him. They trade chops. Bryan goes for an STF and hits some shots from behind him. They trade chops and Bryan hits chops and kicks in the corner. Bryan flying kicks him in the corner and slaps him. Bryan hits more chops and kicks then running knees him.

Bryan misses a flying kick in the corner then Mox kicks him while he is down. Bryan hits another kick and chop combo and Bryan dropkicks him off the top. Mox rolls out then takes a flying knee off the apron. Bryan top rope dropkicks him then Mox sleepers him off the apron. Bryan germans him on the apron and we go to PiP break.

We return and Danielson is in control. They trade kicks for forearms then Bryan hits a busaiku knee for 2. Bryan suplexes him. Mox single leg crabs him and corner larits him. Mox rakes Bryan's back up top and headbutts him up there. Bryan top rope backdrops Mox.

They strike each other on the mat then both headstand with their legs locked up. Bryan puts him in cattle mutilation thne high kicks him. Mox flips him with a lariat then Bryan busaiku knees him for 2. Mox blocks a kick then curb stomps Bryan. Mox hits a death rider for 2. Bryan flips Mox then does reverse curb stomps. He then triangles him. Bryan goes up top and drops a knee on his arm across the rope then Mox hits a death rider on Bryan on the stage for 2. Mox puts Bryan in the choke and wins it.

It wasn't a classic or anything and the they did do too much, but they didn't get too crazy. It was an okay match but there wasn't anything super special about it.

Regal gives Mox the belt after then Bryan pulls it away but we immediately end the show and miss the rest. Oops.

Overall thoughts: Not a fantastic night of wrestling, but  not an awful night either. I didn't like the Orange Cassidy match and the tag title match was a disaster. The main was okay, but had issues just like the ROH title match.

WWE NXT 9/20/2022

WWE NXT 9/20/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/wwe-nxt-20-9132022.html

NXT 2.0 is no more and we are back to just WWE NXT.

We see clips from earlier in the day. Solo Sikoa and Carmelo Hayes are called into a room with Shawn Michaels. Shawn says Solo competed in a match last week that he was not sanctioned to be in. Shawn says the result of the N-A title match last week cannot stand and he tells him he has to hand over and relinquish the N-A title. Solo says heh ad unfinished business in NXT he had to take care of and Melo seems happy. Michaels wishes him good luck on Smackdown and Solo says, "I told you I had next". Melo holds out his hands to try and get his title. Shawn said he tried to outsmart the system and got burned. He said anytime you think you are bigger thant the business, the business can slap you in the face. Shawn says Melo and others wil meet in a ladder match to determine the next N-A champ.

This was stupid. I didn't get the reasoning behind having Solo win last week and this made even less sense. I don't get how this helped anyone or helped the N-A title.

Axiom vs Nathan Frazer

NF kips up out of a headscissors then NF rolls him up. Ax takes him down and NF flips out of a leg hold. NF shoulders him over and NF headscissors him. Ax handstands out of it then does a neat bridge off a double reverse armbar. Ax springboard armdrags him and dropkicks him then northern lights suplexes him. NF headscissors him out of the corner and has his dive interrupted. Ax comes off the top and is dropkicked in mid-air.

We go to PiP break and return. Ax hiptosses him then dropkicks him. Ax top rope lariats him and gets a 2 on a pin. Ax pele kicks him then takes a hard superkicks for 2. NF goes up top and is interrupted then hiptossed off the top. NF flips off the buckles and is caught with a sleeper. Ax goes up top and NF superplexes him then holds on into a twisting neckbreaker. NF hits a pheonix splash and wins it.

It didn't have a story to it or anything but there was some decent wrestling to be had here. I wasn't a huge fan of it though. I don't like long openers and this was pushing around 15 minutes.

Alba Fyre talks about Mandy Rose. She said her reign was historic but she saw her soul and fear when she put a bat up against her. Alba says she will be the one to take her women's title away from her.

Mandy is seen watching in the back then Toxic Attraction comes in. Mandy says she isn't impressed by Alba then promises to take down Fallon Henley and Alba Fyre.

We get a video on Damon Kemp. He spray paints his Diamond Mine gear and says the look on the Creed's faces was priceless when he cost them the tag titles. If you remember, Roddy was talking about a video tape. Kemp showed the tape. Roddy was shown turning down money from Tony and Stacks, but we see Kemp taking the money. It is then revealed that at the 8/2/22 edition of NXT 2.0, Kemp was supposed to help Tony/Stacks win the tag titles but it got stopped by Santos Escobar's return. Kemp says he thought he was dead in the water and caught when Strong talked about revealing the footage, so he beat up Strong and destroyed his phone. Kemp says Strong is still in the hospital. He said he bets the Creed's are mad at him. He says he will not fight the Creed's 2v1, but 1v1 with the other in the back of the locker room. He said that's all we get today.

Well, this cleared up what Strong was referring to with the video tape. There was some planning here but it kind of feels like they needed to explain away something and set up this scenario to do it. It wasn't a great angle or explanation though because it took too long and wasn't really that clear that Kemp was up to something.

We see Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley in the back. Ivy blames Kemp for destroying Diamond Mine. Tatum says not to get angry because they have their own business to handle and need to get focused. Ivy said she is focused. They really need to clear up whether Tatum is a Diamond Mine member or not.

Toxic Attraction (Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin) vs Diamond Mine (Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile)

Tatum does a nice leapfrog, a matrix slide under a lariat then a nice dropkick on Gigi. Tatum gets flipped then lariated by Gigi. Tatum is then double tripped and kicked then senton'd by Jacy. Tatum forearms Jacy then takes a back elbow. Gigi boots Tatum in the face then Tatum rolls her up. Tatum swinging facebusters her then Ivy gets the hot tag in. Ivy kick combos Jacy then running kicks her in the corner. Ivy then suplexes her and Gigi backdrops Tatum.

Jacy spinning forearms Ivy then spinning codebreakers her. Ivy step up enzugiri's Jacy then is pushed out of the ring. T-A hits a kick combo on Ivy and gets the win.

This was short and decent with Tatum looking good here.

The Schism is walking towards the building.

We see Tyler Bate and JD McDonagh arrive.

The Schism talk. They say it's time for people to pick a side. They said they will no longer turn the other cheek. Rip says they will never abadon their followers and Jagger says their goal is to make this place better. Gacy says change can be scary but they have given us time to accept the change. Gacy says we will see the world through his eyes. Gacy says it seems the world only responds to a firm hand. He talks about Cameron Grimes and says he made a life altering decision by turning them down. He says the wrath of the Schism is imminent.

The Dyad vs Edris Enofe and Malik Blade

Blade and Enofe run down and brawl with them. Enofe dives on Rip and Jagger outside. Rip hits shots on Blade then Blade dropkicks him. Rip is tripped into a kick and flying lariat combo. Jagger lariats Enofe and Enofe fights off a 2v1. Balde gets the hot tag in and top rope crossbodies both oponents. Dyad is double lariated over the top and Blade tope con hilos both opponents outside.

We go to break and return. Blade and Jadder trade shots then Rip pulls on Blade's sweater. Blade is thrown out. Rip puts him in a sideslam position then Jagger goes over the top and helps pushes him down. The Schism hug and Jagger forearms Blade. Enofe gets a hot tag in and beats up on Dyad. He punch flurries Rip then both Dyad members at the same time.

Enofe trips Rip into a reverse sling blade then knees him. Enofe holds up Rip and Blade jumps over him with a leg lariat. Blade is pulled over the top. Jagger runs up Rip's back and canadian destroyers Enofe then they do their finishing move and win it.

This was fast paced and shorter and I liked it. Enofe looked good here.

We see clips of Quincy Elliot's debut.

Roxanne Perez does a promo on Meiko Satomura. She said she was nervous and challenged her to see how good she was. She said nobody ever hit her harder and she still has bruises. She said Meiko proved why she was an icon. Meiko responded, saying she has fighting spirit and said the day is coming when Perez will be champ. Perez promised to be tougher and more determined for the next match against Cora Jade.

Cora Jade vs Wendy Choo

Cora backs her up early then is double chopped. Wendy headlock takedowns her then handstands out of a headscissors. Wendy hits a nice dropkick then running facekicks her. Wendy then gets whipped into the bottom rope off a blocked baseball slide. Cora running back elbows her against the ropes the uses the ropes to jump up and double stomp Wendy's back hard. Wendy makes a comeback and does a forward handspring into a forearm inb the corner. Wendy germans her.

Wendy misses a corner charge then takes a ddt and Cora wins it.

It was short but they kept it moving. Wendy got to show off some athleticism and I thought this was a fun little match.

Lash Legend pump kicks Wendy after with large heels on then talks trash.

Bron Breakker is interviewed. He thanks NXT for voting him the NXT Superstar of the year. He puts over Bate tonight and says his match with JD McDonagh will be a main event match. He said it could go either way but he is picking Bate tonight.

Trick and Melo talk in the back. Trick says it's a new day and says he is Carmelo Hayes.

We get an Oliver Cartner/Oro Mensah vignette. He is then interviewed. He says Waller is one of the best. He says Oro means gold and he is from Ghana, which is the country of gold. He says tonight he must qualify for the ladder match.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams come out. Trick tells everyone to shut their mouth when the A-Champ is speaking. Melo says he is the biggest superstar in NXT. He said he wants everyone involved in his title loss last week fired. He says he doesn't care which bloodline Solo Sikoa comes from, he stole his title. He said he is still the A-Champion no matter which way you flip it.

Chase U comes out. Chase says he saw what happened last week and goes to say his line then Melo interrupts. Melo says this isn't the time. Chase tries to do it again and Trick then tells him not to finish that last line. Chase tries it again then says we have a teachable moment and they fight. Trick and Melo take punches and slide out.

Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes vs Bodhi Hayward and Andre Chase

Chase reverses a hiptoss with one of his own then Trick hits a dropkick on Chase. Melo takes a double back elbow and hits punches/chops on Bodhi. Trick suplexes Bodhi then Bodhi armdrags him. Bodhi does a nice flying shoulder on Trick then Chase russian legsweeps Trick. Chase does the C-H-A-S-E U stomp then Bodhi racks Trick. Trick makes the tag while in the rack then Bodhi is double clotheslines. Melo springboard twisting clotheslines Bodhi then Melo superkicks him while he is down for 2.

Trick stomps Bodhi and euros him then misses a flying move. Chase gets in and hits nice punches then atomic drops Trick. Trick is slammed then popped up into an uppercut. Melo pump kicks Chase and superkicks Bodhi off the apron. Melo springboards and is caught in a roll-up for the surprise Chase win.

This was short and decent. I don't like Melo losing here but it was a major upset and we had a fun moment with Bodhi/Chase celebrating with Chase U in the crowd.

We get a backstage segment with Gallus, Briggs, Jensen and Henley at a card table in the back. Briggs threatens to put someone through a table and it is broken up.

Sanga vs Von Wagner

They trade shoulders to start and Von hits strikes. Sanga clotheslines him and Sanga is pushed in the buckles. Von flurries him with lariats and forearms in the corner then Sanga fires back with punches. Von chinlocks him while pulling the hair then Sanga splashes him in the corner. Sanga sideslams him and Von rolls out.

Sanga facekicks him off the apron then running lariats him on the floor. Stone jumps off the steps onto Sanga and is caught, but Von saves him. Von pushes Sanga into the post then throws him into the steps. Von running facekicks him inside then F-U's him for the win.

They had some sloppy moments here but it was short and it was decent for the little time they got. Von finally gets a win after losing lately.

Wes Lee does a promo on Trick and Melo. He said they did a number on him but he is cleared for action. He said he is ready to qualify for the North American title. He said he refuses special treatment and said he doesn't want a buy into the ladder match for the N-A title, he wants to earn it.

Stacks is interviewed. He says Wes has rocks for brains. He says next week, Wes takes on Tony D for his qualifier and will regret it.

Cameron Grimes does a promo. He says Gacy targets the vulnerable. He says Gacy preaches about peace and compassion but won't get any when they meet. He says he will throw the Schism tree in the woodchipper and use it as fuel to go to the moon.

WWE NXT North American Title Ladder Match Qualifier - Grayson Waller vs Oro Mensah

This is Oro's debut here so he needs to win, but Waller ain't the guy who should be losing to him. Waller pops him in the face to start then lariats him. Oro rolls and kips up out of a wristlock but is brought down by the hair. Waller flips him by the hair. Oro flips off him i nthe corner then mocks his taunbt.

Oro armdrags him then hits a punch flurry. Waller electric chair back drops him then hits knees in the back. Waller stands on his face/neck then blocks his sunset flip. Waller gets on his back and pounds on his neck. Waller then does a Blackpool Combat Club style elbow flurry.

Oro hits some forearms then Oro 2nd rope asai moonsaults him. Oro does a flipping koppo kick. Waler brings his neck down over the top rope and goes for his roll in move but Apollo Crews stops him. Crews is bleeding from the eye then Oro dives on him. Oro hits a stiff spinning heel kick and wins it.

It was shorter and fast paced. Oro won like he was supposed to and I guess if you have Waller lose here, this is the way to do it as it builds up the Crews storyline. Crews' eye blood was freaky.

The Creed's are in the Diamond Mine dojo. Brutus and Julius argue over who gets to beat up Damon Kemp and Julius tells Brutus to end Kemp's career.

Bron Breakker comes out with a special needs kid who is dressed up like a wrestler.

We get a Sol Ruca vignette. We see her at the beach surging and playing guitar. We then see her do flips on the beach. She said she will leave the beach and hit the ring.

NXT Title #1 Contenders Match - Tyler Bate vs JD McDonagh

JD grabs his arm early, Bate kips up and headlocks him. Bate does his escape routine on JD then rolls him up for 2. Bate crossbodies him then armdrags him. Bate knees JD then 2nd rope flying euros him. Bate airplane spins him and JD rolls it into a pin attempt. They trade roll-ups then Bate rolls him from the electric chair. They lariat each other and we go to PiP break. JD gets flipped during the break then dropkicked out. Bate goes for a dive but takes a uranage and a standing moonault.

We return from break and Bate gets out of a boston crab. JD kicks Bate while holding his arm. JD takes a nice bump over the buckles to the outside then Bate does a nice tope on him that puts JD over the announcer's table. Bate has his head banged off the announcer's table and JD says something to Bron Breakker at the booth.

Bate catches JD in the corner with an exploder then does a running SSP for 2. Bate then does JD's hold the arm + kicks move. JD slingshots and is caught in a rack then Bate airplane spins him. Bate gets pulled over the top rope then JD kicks him from the apron and 2nd rope asai moonsaults him outside. JD 450's him for 2. JD hits a stiff brainbuster for another 2 and they trade shots on their knees. They get up and hit each other with punches. Bate runs into a standing ssp from JD but punches him from the mat and knocks him down.

They go up top and trade shots. JD headbutts him up there then top rope spanish flies him. JD then pulls him into a backdrop/olympic slam and wins it.

They did a little too much here and it was mostly just an action match without a lot of great story. Kind of a tough situation here as both guys needed a win but I guess they figured Bate will recover since he was a face. I liked the spot with Bate punching JD from the mat and the airplane spin was good.

Bron Breakker comes out and stared down JD. They argue then Ilja Dragunov comes out! JD flips out and Ilja stares down both guys. Bron holds his title at both guys to close the show.

Overall thoughts: I had some concerns a few weeks ago that this show was becoming a NXT + NXT UK mix and there was some of that here with longer matches and not so much younger talent. The N-A title angle stunk and didn't make much sense and the Kemp angle could have been executed better. There was some decent wrestling, but it had some issues and some of the other angles could have been done better.

AEW Dark: Elevation #81 9/19/2022

AEW Dark: Elevation #81 9/19/2022

Zack Clayton vs Conan Lycan

Two decent sized guys here for a change. Conan's last name is weird but he's wide. Conan poses on the 2nd rope and is hit in the legs and goes down. Zack hits a corner euro. Conona hits some shots thne a running back elbow and lariat. Zack avoids a corner spear and Conan goes hard into the post then is thrown over Zack's shoulder.

Conan gets choked with the ropes then suplexed. Zach knee drops him then catches him off the 2nd rope with a powerslam. Zack chinlocks him and Conan rolls over the back and spinebusters him. Conan goes up top for a 450 but Zack moves. Zack racks him and does a weird F-5 seated drop to win it.

This was fun and wasn't a total squash with two bigger guys.

Private Party vs Aggro and Danger Kid

Kid has purple and pink hair tied up and really has quite the unusual look. Quen takes a big back body drop to start things then Kassidy takes an enzugiri then lariat combo. Quen springboard splashes Kid then Kid takes a neckbreaker + facestomp combo. Matt Menard calls Aggro Prince Iaukea. Quen slingshot elbow drops Kid then Kassidy slingshot sentons Kid.

Kid takes a hard quen kick to the face then Kassidy pounds on Kid when the ref is distracted. Quen dropkicks Kid in the back of the head and Kid upkicks Quen. Aggro gets in and dropkicks Quen off the apron and pump kicks Kassidy. Aggro top rope dropkicks Kassidy and is armdragged off a uranage attempt. Quen jumps off of Kass's back and splashes Aggro in the corner, then tope con hilos outside. Aggro then takes a gin and juice and is pinned.

Mostly a squash here. I thought PP looked good with what they got to do and Aggro/Kid have no future together as a team. Kid just looks like the indiest guy ever.

Skye Blue vs Chica Carreras

Chica gut kicks her early then Skye shoulders her over. Sky cartwheels over her then rolls her and cartwheels into a kick on her. Chica forearms her and chops her in the corner. Chica then cartwheels into a dropkick, which Menard complains about saying, "Do we really need the cartwheel?". Skye enzugiri's her then side dropkicks her in the head.

Skye superkicks her and does a real good one then lifts her out of the full nelson and twists her down into a drop to win it.

This was short. This wasn't the best of either girl and Chica's kind of green.

Dalton Castle and The Boys vs Bouji, Rick Recon and Omar

Castle's crew was marked as the ROH 6 man tag champs here, so that title is still a thing. Dalton had a nice entrance. I love Rick Recon's name.

Dalton trips Rick and they miss corner lariats on each other. Dalton suplexes him. Omar gets in and goes after The Boys. Brandon and Brent hit a springboard back elbow then one is hiptossed onto Omar. Bouji does a corkscrew pele kick then is dropkicked off a double team. Dalton gets the hot tag in and gets shots on all 3 opponents then does a great suplex on Bouji. Rick is thrown out and Omar takes a german on his neck. One of the Boys is thrown on Omar then Brandon is thrown on Bouji. The Boys are thrown on opponents again then Dalton does a bangarang to win it.

This was all squash here and was entertaining with the Boys being thrown around and Dalton hitting nice suplexes.

Jora Johl vs Frankie Kazarian

I think we have about 13 minutes left and this is one of the last 3 matches, so something's going to have to be short.

Jora hits some shots early then takes a springboard back elbow. Kaz lariats him over the top and chops him outside. Kaz springboard legdrops him then is caught with a cradle shock off a leapfrog. Jora spinning brainbusters him and they say he has the best biceps since Gary Strydom of the WBF.

Kaz goes up and over in the corner and rolls him up then takes a superkick. Jora double underhook backbreakers him and misses a pump kick. Kaz hits a double chop and a spinning heel kick then a flying forearm. They do some messy roll into a crossface chickenwing and Kaz gets the win.

Not bad but Kaz took a little too much here before getting the win. They did botch the finish here.

Mascara Dorada vs Serpentico

Dorada handsprings into a backflip and is kicked in the gut. Dorada hits a boot to the face and a reverse sling blade. Dorada walks the ropes and dropkicks him off the 2nd rope. Serp hits a forearm and slides under him. Dorada then asai moonsaults him outside. Dorada walks the top rope into a springboard swanton for 2.

Serp superkicks him and STO's him. Dorada superkicks him then cradle shocks him for the win.

It was short but Dorada looked good. Dorada didn't get to do all of his best stuff here but it was good to see him outside of WWE.

The Butcher and The Blade vs Liam Davis and Mike Anthony

Butcher locks up with Liam I think and beats him up in the corner. Butcher pumphandle suplexes him then Liam hits forearms on Blade. Blade lariats him then suplexes him. B&B then hit a cool double headbutt, double shoulder and double chop. B&B stomp on them in the corners. Butcher short arm lariats Mike then short arm forearms Liam. B&B suplex + neckbreaker combo Liam onto his partner and win it.

B&B were quite aggressive here and made for a short but interesting squash.

Overall thoughts:
It really wasn't a bad hour of wrestling. Mostly squashes and short matches as you expect but they were entertaining for the most part.

AEW Rampage 9/16/2022

AEW Rampage 9/16/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/aew-rampage-992022.html

Sorry for the delay. I just haven't been that interested in watching wrestling this week and the 10PM start time is often a problem for me.

Matt Hardy vs Darby Allin

No intros for either guy. They fight over a wristlock and Matt wrosk over the arm. Darby headlock takeovers him then Matt does his "delete" taunt. Darby crucifixes him  and Matt blocks him on a dive attempt. Darby then drives him into the steps. Darby goes for a top rope swanton while Matt is laying on the apron, but Matt moves and he lands hard. Matt then powerbombs his back into the post. Matt stretches him around the post and we go to PiP break.

We return with Matt staying in control. Darby goes for a pin and running back elbows him. Darby goes for an up and over in the corner and takes a side effect. Darby takes another side effect and backslides him off a twist of fate attempt. Darby hits a reverse ddt out of a suplex attempt. Matt hits a splash mountain for 2 then misses a top rope moonsault. Darby hits a code red for 2 and rolls him up for a pin.

They did way too much here by kicking out of splash mountains and doing top rope swantons on the apron, but it was better than I expected.

Darby goes to leave then the House of Black appears in the ring. Brody King lariats Matt and Julia Hart just looks at Matt. Brody calls out Darby and Sting then Darby and Sting come out. Brody says this isn't over and challenges them to a No DQ match next week. Brody sleepers Matt on the apron then Julia Hart sweeps Matt's legs and lets him hang.

Eddie Kingston does a promo looking like a homeless dude on Sammy. He said he doesn't like or respect Sammy Guevara. He says he's a horrible and rotten human being. He says he will beat the p!ss out of him in Queens.

Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta are interviewed. Claudio says the BCC is the new symbol of excellence. He says the BCC is a team and family that makes each other better. CC says Yuta lost his ROH Pure Title, but sometimes that's how you learn and said he will win back his title. He said the BCC will have two champs in its ranks next week.

Chris Jericho comes down to the ramp. He says the JAS is the symbol of excellence. Jericho said he should be in the title match in Queens, but they talk about how Chris tapped out. Jericho talks about the titles he won and said he was never world champ in ROH. He says he won 7 world titles, but it's not enough and he wants "the ocho". He says he is challenging CC for the ROH title in Queens. CC says he has been hoping and waiting for this and says he is on.

Jade Cargill and The Baddies are interviewed. Jade is asked whats next and Keira Hogan says the winning around here has gotten boring. Jade says no one is left. She said she isn't running a circus and had to get rid of the PR clown....though it's not clear if she meant Stokeley or Sterling since both are gone. Diamante walks in. She says if Jade wanted competition, she just had to ask. She said if Jade is bored, she will give her something to play with. She challenges her for next week and says she isn't coming alone. She said she has the baddest b!tch from the 305.

Penelope Ford vs Willow Nightingale

Ford hits forearms and face shoves her. Willow shoulders her over then headlocks her on the mat. Willow rolls her up for a pin attempt and Willow chops and slams her. Willow crossbodies her as she is seated and Ford avoids her pounce. Ford dropkicks her against the ropes. Ford then comes off the 2nd rope and double knee drops her on the apron. We go to PiP break.

Ford stpidly does her handspring backflip elbow during the break where no one sees it then licks her face for some reason. Ford neckbreakers her then Willow misses a legdrop. We return from break and Willow running kicks Ford. Willow spinebusters her for 2. Ford matrix's out of a lariat then stunners her for 2. Willow pounces Ford into the ropes. Ford pump kicks her and hits a version of the stroke. Ford twerks before an indian deathlock and then wins it.

It wasn't bad at all for it what it was. Ford looks bad though with the heavy pink eye shadow and white hair.

The Dark Order and Adam Page are interviewed. Page says he needs to apologize to them for screwing up and costing them a match. They say in the battle royale, it's every man for themselves. Rush walks in with Jose. Jose tries to tell 10 that he needs to make himself a star and Rush says he will eliminate all them before talking in spanish.

Ethan Page vs Danhausen

Dan teases cursing him then is facekicked a little after. Dan slaps him and is shouldered over then Page hits razor's edge. Page then grabs the win in a short squash.

Ricky Starks does a promo. He said he doesn't have to do any more talking. He says Hobbs has his full attention and needs to think about all the people he loves before he goes after him again. He said he will see him in NYC.

Josh Woods, Nese and Sterling do a split screen promo with Samoa Joe. Josh says if Joe is a fighting champ, he will get a fight tonight. Sterling said Woods can send Joe on an extended vacation after this. Joe said they will come to an understanding about who the ROH TV champ is. Joe threatens Sterling and Sterling says he will sue if he touches him.

ROH Television Title - Samoa Joe (c) vs Josh Woods

This could be good. they lock up and shove each other. Woods headlocks him then Joe cravates him. Woods spinning forearms him then they trade forearms. Joe hits a jab combo then Woods hits knees to the gut. Nese brings down Joe's throat over the top rope. We go to PiP break.

We return from break and Woods is going for an armbar. Joe stops it and is kicked in the shoulder. Woods hits a shot on the shoulder then is put in the sleeper. Woods backdrops Joe and takes a boot to the face after a blocked leapfrog. Joe sentons him on the mat and Woods euros the arm. Joe powerslams him. Joe puts him on the top rope and Nese gets ont he apron then Sterling holds onto Woods. Woods then rolls him up and pumping knees him. Woods tries some fireman's carry into a knee but doesn't hit it clean.

Woods takes a corner uranage then takes a muscle buster for the Joe win.

It was acceptable though not half of what it could have been. We had interference shenanigans and what we saw on TV was short.

Nese jumps Joe from behind after then Woods helps out. Sterling grabs the TV Title then Wardlow comes out. The heels go to run but Sterling is caught. Wardlow goes to powerbomb Sterling but Nese pulls Sterling out. Joe and Wardlow stare down after and bang each others belts together.

Overall thoughts:
Nothing too great here but it was an okay hour of wrestling. I wouldn't recommend it, but there's worse things to watch.

WWE NXT Level Up 9/16/2022

WWE NXT Level Up 9/16/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/wwe-nxt-level-up-992022.html

Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile vs Sloane Jacobs and Erica Yan

Tatum is wearing a facemask due to an injury where she banged her face off a post.

Tatum and Yan lock up each others arms and Tatum is swept. Tatum rolls out of a wristlock then rolls into a hammerlock/kimura hold on Yan. Ivy leg kicks and body kicks Yan then wrist throws her for 2. Ivy takes a double arm wringer then does a kick and punch at the same time to escape a 1v2. Ivy flying kicks Sloane then Tatum slams Sloane. Tatum standing corkscrew moonsaults Sloane then Sloane facebusters her.

Yan headbutts Tatum in the gut then double throat thrusts her. Sloane 2nd rope twisting lariats Tatum and neck cranks her. Tatum tags out and Ivy gets a hot tag in. She is fired up and shoulders over Sloane then kick combos her. Ivy does a nice deadlift suplex on Sloane then Sloane takes an Ivy enzugiri. Ivy corkscrew iconoloslams Tatum off the 2nd rope onto Sloane to win it.

Sloane and Yan didn't really show anything here, which is usually the case. Ivy had one messy spot with a kick and the finish was creative.

Bronco Nima and Lucian Price are interviewed. Nima said they need to be a brotherhood to be a team and said they went to school together. Price said they got separated but Nima said they are now together again. Nima said if they have each others backs, they can handle anything.

Duke Hudson walks in. He questions the brotherhood and said their fragile, oversized egos will break this thing. Price said it seems like Duke wants his head beat in. Duke said he'd be happy to smack them and said he doesn't have a buddy to team up with. Nima said he'd be happy to stand toe to toe with him one on one and they seem to nod over it. Nima was decent here and spoke in Spanish some.

Bronco Nima vs Duke Hudson

They lock up and Duke side headlocks him. Duke grabs the hair to keep the headlock on. Nima shoulders him and gets slapped then hits some shots. Duke evades a slam and hits shots and stomps in the corner. Nima lariats him then samoan drops him. Duke rolls outside and is grabbed then has his head banged off the buckles.

Duke double throat thrusts him then stomps and pounds on him. Duke chinlocks him then is backdropped. Nima lariats, back elbows and splashes him then running knees him. Nima slams him then does a little dance into a missed falling shot. Nima has his throat put oover the top rope then Duke slingshots into a german. Duke belly to belly suplexes him and chestkicks him to win it.

Nima had some green moments here and I'm certain Duke was supposed to win with a facekick. It wasn't a classic anything but it wasn't bad at all for Nima only having a few matches and I think Nima has some potential. This was quite long by the way.

Indi Hartwell vs Amari Miller

Amari danced a lot during her entrance, but she isn't any good at it. I don't expect this one to be good.

Amari armholds her then Indi rolls out of a wristlock. She tries to snapmare her but Amari hits la magistral on her. Amari side headlocks her thne Indi throws her down. Indi slams her three times and elbows her for 2. Indi pushes her into the 2nd rope and she whiplashes back then Indi chinlocks her. Indi euros her and chinlocks her again. Indi tries to block a roll up and Amari hits chest forearms. Amari leg sweeps her while Indi is behind her then Indi spinebusters her for the win. Indi pushes her off after and they pushed her having a new aggressive style.

This was not good at all as expected and Indi honestly looked more green than Amari did.

Overall thoughts: It's NXT Level Up. These shows aren't usually anything special and this wasn't worth checking out.
