NJPW World TV Championship - Zack Sabre Jr. vs Metalik

Zack chinlocks him then Metal wristlocks him. Zack wristlocks him then blocks a pin with a bridge. Zack bow and arrows him and they stand off. Zakc offers to shake hands then twists his wrist. Metal springboard crossbodies him then walks up the buckles and hurricanrana's him. Metal gets his slingshot armdrag blocked then Zack puts him in an arm submission.

Zack stomps the arm into the mat. Zack pulls on the fingers then footslaps him. Zack hits a euro then takes a slingblade bulldog. Metal walks the ropes and 2nd rope dropkicks him. Metal tope con hilos him. Metal enzugiri's him from the apron then walks the top rope into a springboard crossbody. Zack gets an octopus on him then euros his arm. Metal ddt's him off Zack's shoulder then Metal tries to pin him with a bridge. Metal superkicks him then walks the top rope and is caught with an armbar on his way down. Zack pulls both arms back and wins it.

I didn't have any issues with this. Zack worked the submissions and Metal did his flying, then got caught and lost.

Cole Karter and Maria are interfered. They say they have an opportunity for Griff Garrison and Maria says it's a good idea for Cole to have a friend. Cole says Maria should walk out wiht him tonight and Maria said she has other things to do but then changes her mind. Maria says she has to call the kids.

Josh Woods vs John Walters

John looks nothing like he used to. John grabs his legs and Josh rolls him over. John armlocks him then slingshot armdrags him. John leapfrogs and Josh goes under him and pulls him down. Josh hits forearms then sunset flips him.

Josh pump kicks him and hits a kneelift. Josh then ties up the legs and taps him out.

It was a short squash that didn't accomplish a lot. I don't think anyone really knew who John Walters is nor did they care.

The Workhorsemen and Lee Moriarty vs Beef, Invictus Khash and Lord Crewe

Beef has his name tattooed on his stomach. The jobbers get jumped after intros and Beef takes a spinning bump to the outside. Lee goes up and over Khash in the corner then legsweeps and basement dropkicks him.

Khash slams Lee then Lee flying knees him in the back. Khash hiptosses Henry then Crewe takes a ddt from JD. JD headbutt drops Crewe. Lee double underhooks Crewe then poses in the bridge position. JD kicks Crewe around in the back. Crewe hit some gut shots on him then is sunset flipped. Crewe cradles Henry then spining enzugiri's him.

Beef gets in and runs through Lee's lariat then backdrops him on his head. The announcers make beef jokes and Beef misses a top rope frogsplash. The heels hit a top rope double stomp and a top rope moonsault on Beef as Lee topes outside. The heels pick up the win.

Lee dances after and gets JD to dance too.

This was another squash but Beef was the big hightlight here. The crowd and announcers liked him and he seems like a fun wrestling character that should get booked again.

Cole Karter vs Dustin Jackson

Cole piefaces him after shaking his hand. DJ dropkicks him then Cole goes up and over. Cole hits nice dropkicks then jumping stomps him. Cole lariats him out of the corner then does a twisting drop from his shoulder and wins it.

This was just a quick squash. Dustin had a decent dropkick.

Emi Sakura vs Alice Crowley

AC = Alice Crowley

AC hits a forearm then walks up the buckles and armdrags her. AC dropkicks her then Emi rakes her eyes. Emi throws her then misses a vader bomb. AC hits forearms then Emi hits chops. AC euros her then hits a fishermans suplex for 2. Emi does a twisting neckbreaker and sings while she hits chops. Emi crossbodies her against the buckles then double underhook backbreakers her for the win.

This was another quick squash.

Josh Woods is interviewed with Mark Sterling. Mark said Josh needed a change and he answered. Josh talked about the people Mark got him to face and said Woods is a national champion. He said he is the only person in AEW or ROH who is a national champion. He said he will continue to prove that Woods is the face of the ROH Pure Divison.

The Spanish Announce Project (Angelico and Serpentico) vs The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum)

Ange = Angelico

Serp spinning headscissors Magnum and dropkicks him. Ange kicks him in the back then Serp double stomps his arm. Serp superkicks him in the face then takes a lariat. Serp takes a double back elbow then The Runners pose.

Serp takes a kneedrop and a back elbow. Serp then takes a neckbreaker on the mat. Serp hits a headscissors out of the corner, ducks a double clothesline and tags out. Ange hits clotheslines on both opponents then Ange jumps off of Floyd's back to lariat Magnum. Ange drops Floyd with a punch then drop toe holds him into a reverse stf.

Magnum is thrown out then Floyd takes an upkick into a flatliner. Serp topes Magnum and Ange puts Flord in a tequila sunrise to win it.

This was basically another squash, though The Runners got a little more in here. 

Marina Shafir vs Angelica Risk

MS = Marina Shafir

MS takes her shoes off before getting in the ring. They hake hands and MS won't let go. MS shoves her then uranages her down hard. MS does a nice shoulder throw then rubs her foot in her face. MS kicks her then does a hip throw. MS hits more kicks to the back.

Risk ducks a shot and hits a punch combo. MS no sells it then kicks her in the gut. MS slams her down then does a riangle with the leg to win it.

Hey, what do you know, it's another squash...

ROH World Six-Man Tag Titles - Mogul Embassy vs Darius Martin, Action Andretti and Lee Johnson

The faces all get spinebustered to start.  Martin is thrown hard into the buckles then Martin hurricanrana's him into the buckles. Cage lariats Martin then Martin 2nd rope tornado ddt's him. Lee hits shoulders on Cage then step up enzugiri's him. Lee superkicks him twice then slams him.

Cage bridging neckbreakers Lee then Kaun hits mounted punches on Lee. Lee is pounded and stomped on in the corner. Lee is thrown hard again into the buckles. Kaun splashes him then throws him into Toa, who lariats him. Toa puts a trapezeus hold on Lee then Toa hits a nice belly to belly suplex. Tora misses a corner splash.

Action gets in and running facekicks Cage off the apron.Action pulls Toa over the top then Action hadnsprings into Toa to knock him off the apron. Action dropkicks Toa through the ropes then standing spanish flies Kaun for 2. Cage takes a double dropkick from Action and Martin then the two hit topes outside. Martin flatliners Kaun off the bottom rope, Lee hits a neckbreaker and Action does a split legged moonsault for 2.

Toa is triple clubbed then double shoulders Martin and Action. Toa running crossbodies Lee. Action hits a bulldog on Toa with help from Darius then Darius hits an enzugiri on Cage. Cage takes a shotgun dropkick int oa german then Lee top rope frogsplashes Cage. The faces triple superkick Cage and Prince Nana gets on the apron. He is triple superkicked too then Cage is held up in the air for a springboard cutter.

Kaun gets in and gutbusters Lee. Toa pounces Martin then Lee is thrown into a Cage sitout powerbomb. The Embassy win.

It was an entertaining match with the faces doing their flying and trying to get an upset while the big guys through them around.

And that was the main event. The show is over, ending just short of an hour. 

Overall thoughts: I feel really bad for the people who pay for this. This card sucked and it was only an hour long all because AEW doesn't want to pay to tape more matches nor just show some of the dark matches they already did. It'd be one thing if this was free, but they expect people to pay for this garbage. Tony didn't try and he just did not care here. We got almost zero follow up on things from the last episode and little build to anything in the future except whatever is happening with Cole Karter and Maria.

If you hadn't noticed, I reviewed 100 shows in August 2023. I believe this is a record and is something nobody else has ever done before. There's no particular meaning behind the number 100, just it sounded like a good number to try and hit. I had been wanting to do this for a while and got close in April. I didn't even plan on doing 100 shows this month, but the reviews started stacking up thanks to the G-1, N-1 and the Stardom GP and I decided to go for it. 

It's not over though. My goal is to do 500 reviews this year, just like I did last year. With only 139 shows to go and 4 months to do it, it should be no problem.

IWA Puerto Rico Impacto Total 6/3/2023

We see clips of Vertigo talking to Harry William about helping out Romeo Quevado. We then see Harry William helping Romeo beat Niche.

Romeo Quevado talks to Harry and gives him his reward for helping.

Doom Patrol (Death Warrant and Death Cold) vs Drunken Express (Pupe Jackson and Excellent Mantel with Kiko Navarro)

Death Warrant has the towel on his head and Death Cold is wearing the mask

Kiko Navarro is in the flannel, Pupe Jackson has the big hat and Excellent Mantel is the one turned around

The Express are jumped as they enter. Warrant chops up Pupe then Pupe returns fire. Pupe hits punches and throws Warrant out. Death Cold nails Pupe from behind and stomps him. Pupe is choked over the 2nd rope and chopped in the corner. Pupe is tripped into an elbow drop. The ref's back is turned and the Patrol double stomps Pupe. Pupe takes a corner splash then is clotheslined.

Pupe hits a boot out of the corner and 2nd rope lariats Warrant. Excellent Mantel gets the hot tag in and lariats Cold. He hits kick then a stunner on both opponents. All four brawl in the ring and they mess up a dosey do spot with Pupe taking a hard bump to the floor. Warrant accidentally splashes Cold then Mantel fights the Patrol 1v2.

Warrant is pushed into Cold then the Express hit a side slam + top rope elbow drop and wins it.

This was a basic but good match. The faces got beat up on, made the hot tag then got the win.

We see clips of the Manny Ferno and Pedro Portillo stuff with Gran Amenaza from last week. They set up a match between Ferno and Amenaza for tonight.

We see clips of Nathaly Perez vs Roxxy from last week and then we see clips of Krystal vs Labrava Escobar last week. The Krystal/Escobar match ended with Roxxy getting hit at ringside and attacking both of the girls. The two then teamed up on Escobar and Nathaly Perez made the save. We then see Krystal slap the interviewer, setting up a title match.

Title vs Title - Miguel Perez vs Manu

 

Manu flying forearms him in the corner to start. Perez rolls him up for 2. Manu takes him down then clubs him in the back. Perez pops him up but is rolled up off of it. Perez hits punches and chops in the corner then bites him. Manu hits a nasty forearm to the back of the head which drops Perez.

Manu pounds and stomps on him. They go outside and Perez's back is rammed into the apron. They trade shots outside and Perez's back goes into the apron again. Manu drops elbows on his neck and chinlocks him. Manu hits chops then misses a corner move. Perez koppo kicks him in the corner then hits lariats. Perez then cutters him for 2.

Manu hits a blue thunder bomb for 2 then grabs a kendo stick. The ref grabs it from him. Harry William comes down and kicks Perez. Manu then does a flying forearm. and nearly gets it until Vessago pulls him out. They fight and Manu low blows him. Perez cutters Manu then does rolling sentons onto him. Perez sentons him and Harry William breaks up the pin. The ref DQ's Manu.

It was okay, though a little long until the dirty finish.

Harry and Manu beat up on Perez. Vessago comes in to help and a 4 man brawl takes place in the ring. The faces clear off the heels.

 Harry William does a promo. He talks about being a kid and seeing Dangerous Rick Stanley fight in the IWA. He said he said some words that stuck in his head about hoodlums/gang banger always making excuses. Harry mocks Niche, doing an impersonation of him and said he always has an excuse. He says Niche deserves nothing. He said titles are not deserved, they are won. He said the fans were saying Niche was not cut out to be a start 2 years ago. He said Niche's partners and friends made fun of him for years and just put up with him, but now support him. He said he's a hypocrite and said Niche ruined his chance at winning a title in his debut. He then says he ruined his chance at the tag titles when he cheated. He says he should be the one who seeks revenge, not Niche. He said he will finish Niche off tonight and said he will be champion before Niche wins a title. He then says he will see him tonight. This was a good promo that went over their feud and Niche's history.

Niche does a promo and said the greatest robbery in IWA history took place when Harry helped Romeo beat him. He said Harry William came here looking for oppurtunities. He talked about them nearly winning the tag titles due to Harry's cheating and thne talked about Harry turning on him. He said he was fighting with his family there last week. He said he feels discouraged that he might not get another title shot, but he does have the courage to break his face. He says Harry doesn't know the trouble he has gotten himself into.

IWA Tag Titles - The Faces of Destiny (Nick Mercer and Jay Blake vs Controversial Inc. (Salazar de la Muerte and Mr. C)

Salazar de la Muerte is the taller one, and Mr. C is the shorter one

In order - Nick Mecer and Jay Blake

Jay and C start us off. C is backed up in the corner. Jay hits some headlock takeovers then C pushes him. C eye pokes him and is hiptossed and armdragged. Jay dropkicks him and then pushes him over. C and Salazar hit a double shoulder on Jay.

Salazar and Nick go at it. Sal euros him on the ropes then Nick flying shoulders him. Nick hits armdrags and slams him. Nick then knee drops him for 2. Nick is pulled over the top and lands on the floor. Nick is stomped outside 2v1 then takes a combo legdrop + senton. Salazar hits a nice lariat on Nick then C suplexes Nick. C uranages Nick. Nick step up enzugiri's Salazar. Salazar backdrops and sentons him.

Nick michinoku drivers Salazar. Jay gets the hot tag in and hits lariats on C. Jay spinebusters C for 2. Jay takes a lariat + flatliner combo. Nick and Salazar trade shots then Salazar is lariated over the top. C superkicks Jay. C takes a falcon arrow and Jay top rope splashes him while Nick topes Salazar outside. The Faces of Destiny win.

It went longer than it needed to. It wasn't bad but not super exciting and just not a classic. I was really surprised they had Controversial Inc lose here since I believe it is their debut. That is not good booking, especially since they lost clean.

Wizard Analiza

He talks about Pedro Portillo III. He said his arrival affected many people. He said Manny Ferno knows what he is capable of doing. He tells Manny not tbe stubborn and said he knows how Pedro sent him to the hospital. Wizard then shows us what Pedro Portillo and Gran Amenaza had to say to him.

Pedro puts over Gran Amenaza and says he will do double what El Cuervo did to him. Pedro said he would have the largest contract and put Manny in anmbulance and now promises Gran will hurt him. He says Gran is the biggest champion in this industry.

Wizard returns and says Pedro has a clear message. He says Pedro has warned him. Wizard said Manny will come out worse than ever and he predicts a disastrous future for Manny that is full of obstacles. Wizard said Manny is all out on his own.

Manny Ferno then talks. He said he is looking forward to tonight. He said Pedro is in a war without a quarter. He tells them to do the work they have to do tonight because they will just make him more determined. Manny says they dont't know what they are facing and says he plans to show him tonight.

John Hawking vs Romeo

They lock up and John headlocks him. John shoulders him over then hiptosses and back elbows him. Romeo goes out to stall then nails John from behind. Romeo clubs his back and throws him out. Mr. Big and his buddy stomp on John. John is thrown out again then Xavier Millet gets some cheapshots in.

Romeo snapmares him then is rolled up. Romeo then lariats him and chokes him with tape. John misses a corner charge and takes a flying kick. Romeo stomps on him then drops a knee on his back. John's head is dropped on the top rope then Romeo lariats him.

John top rope blockbusters him. John flying shoulders him then hits lariats. John spinebusters him for 2. Xavier Millet gets on the apron to distract the ref and Romeo low blows John. Romeo nails John with his cobra cane for 2. John TKO's Romeo and is about to win when Mr. Big pulls the ref out. Mr. Big goes to splash John but accidentally splashes Romeo. John dropkicks Romeo out and Jordi El Nino comes down and counts the pin for John. The heel announcer says Romeo had his shoulder up.

The match made sense but wasn't that interesting. The shenanigans with the interference didn't help it.

La Alianza beats up on John. Savio Vega comes out and clears off the heels. Jordi el Nino also helps out by holding a kendo stick.

Fernando Tonos gets in the ring and throws his jacket at Savio. Savio rips it up and nails Tonos.

Romeo tells Savio there will be repercussions for that. He then basically said Savio took advantage of the old man Tonos. He blames Savio for getting Invader to cost him a match. Romeo swears on his mother's life that Savio's life will be hell from now on and that he has seen nothing yet.

Savio said Tonos got what he deserved. Savio says he has his eyes on Romeo and says it will be very difficult if his friends want to help him cheat. Savio says even though Hawking isn't the champ, he still is the champ to him. Savio says they have the secret soul, Jordi el Nino, on their side. Savio then says it's his way or the highway.

Overall thoughts: It wasn't the greatest episode though it wasn't awful. Nothing was bad, just nothing was great either. I was surprised to see Controversial Inc. lose here and I was surprised they didn't hype up the show that was coming the same night more.
