WWE Main Event 5/29/2013 Results and Review

WWE Main Event 5/29/2013 Results and Review

Last week's show is here:

Ricardo Rodriguez is at the booth tonight.

Wade Barrett vs Sheamus

Sheamus got the win with a Brogue Kick out of nowhere. Good match here. It went about 20 minutes and was a slugfest. Some good stiff shots by both here. Wade couldn't put Sheamus down there. He hit his Winds of Change, rammed him into the post twice and even hit a Wasteland, but it wasn't enough. Good stuff. Rating:***1/2

They recapped the Cena/Ryback situation and the Jericho/Punk situation from Raw.

They showed a vignette on the Wyatt Family. Miz called them "freaks".

Justin Gabriel vs Antonio Cesaro

If you noticed above, Cesaro's colors are now the German flag and not the Swiss flag. Why? I have no idea.

Antonio Cesaro won quickly and easily with a Gotch-Style Neutralizer. Cesaro worked a chinlock for most of this and crotched Justin good on the corner turnbuckle.

Tons of Funk and R-Truth vs 3MB

The faces got the win in a quick match by sandwiching Jinder and Truth doing a reverse jumping STO to him. The match was short and really not interesting.

Why were the matches that were promised on Raw for Main Event not on the show? My best guess is that it is just WWE and they change their booking so much that they scrapped the planned matches.

Overall thoughts: Good show with two good matches. Definitely a worthwhile edition of Main Event and I think it is worth a look.
