Bryan Danielson comes out and is interviewed by Tony Schiavone. Bryan says it's a great week to be a wrestling fan and says we have a PPV this week with the two best wrestling companies in the world then Blood and Guts. Bryan said Jericho paid Zack Sabre Jr. to challenge him to a match. He said he isn't cleared to compete at either show but said he will come back.

Bryan said Eddie called him a judgmental prick and Bryan said he was right and has high standards. He said he has a replacement though and said he won't tell us who it is.

Zack Sabre Jr. then comes out and does nothing to end the segment. This segment sucked.

Mox does an interview about the JAS. Mox said JAS will be stuck in a cage with him and his dogs who survive everything. He said we will find out how much they are willing to endure and suffer. He then said the match with Tana this Sunday is the biggest match of his life. He said tonight it's business in their tag match but it is personal on Sunday.

Will Osperay and Aussie Open vs Orange Cassidy, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta

 

Rocky and Trent double team Fletcher early. Mark Davis boots Trent in the face then gets german suplexed. OC puts his hands in his pockets then shotgun dropkicks Davis. Rocky gets back in  and Davis takes a double team. Will then gets double backdropped as OC's team poses. OC and Rocky then dive on people, but Aussie Open catches both and rams them into each other. Trent and Rocky then are powerbombed on the apron.

We go to PiP break and return. Fletcher takes a release dragon suplex from Trent. OC hurricanrana's both A-O members at the same time then hurricanrana's Davis while holding Fletcher's hand. OC then hits a big ddt on Fletcher. Trent lariats Will over the top rope and we get a triple dive spot from OC's team. Will then gets hunt on the ropes and takes a double stomp from Rocky then OC elbows him off the top.

Will flips off of OC and dropkicks him. He then goes for a suplex but OC turns it into a stunner. Davis pops up Rocky and gets hurricanrana'd. Rocky then takes an odd double team that ends in a sitout alabama slam. Rocky shiranui's Kyle then people start hitting top rope moves. Trent flips Will with a lariat then Kyle takes jumping double knees from Rocky and Trent. Trent takes a sunset bomb then is pulled up in an unusual way for a piledriver by Davis.

OC moves out of Will's flying space tiger then Rocky top rope dives Will. Trent tornado ddt's Davis then OC orange punches Fletcher to win it.

This promotion has it out for Will Osperay. This guy is supposed to be one of NJPW's best and he has now lost twice in three matches. AEW for whatever reason also seems desperate to protect Trent in these for unknown reasons. It went long for an opening match but was very fast paced and as expected, there were a lot of moves.

Jeff Cobb and Great O'Khan come down after and console their friends. All 5 get on the apron and then FTR come out to help OC's crew. 

Dutt, Singh and Lethal did a promo. Dutt was happy Singh won in his debut. He said they were going to celebrate in India. Lethal says he wants to be ROH TV champ, but Joe is out. He says Joe is almost out of time to defend the title and says he either faces him or vacates the title.

Christian is interviewed by Tony Schiavone. He yelled at the crowd and said he turned on Jungle Boy because he eliminated him from the casino battle royale last year. He said he didn't appreciate the crowd cheering that. He told the crowd he didn't come to elevate talent and said he came here to make a lot of money. He says Jungle Boy doesn't have the killer instinct and said he lost the titles on the one night he didn't give him pre-match advice. Christian says he is now going to have to take control and gets his hands dirty. We see clips of Christian arguing with Jungle Boy's mom. Christian says his mom had the hots for him and says he didn't want to be JB's father figure. He said JB's father is dead and would be ashamed of him.

Christian keeps talking and Luchasaurs comes down and chokes him. Christian says he and Lucha need to talk. He said he is like a son to him and they have to talk in private. Cristian then hugs him and Lucha leaves with him.

I didn't like this promo. It was all over the place and had a bunch of cheap heat that didn't accomplish much.

The Bucks and Kyle O'Reilly do a promo. The Bucks brag about being tag champs again. They said they would be at Forbidden Door. They announced what sounded like an 8-man tag with the Bucks and Bullet Club vs Sting and friends at Forbidden Door.

AEW All-Atlantic Tournament 1st Round - Malakai Black vs Penta Oscuro

MB back elbows him early and is pulled off the apron. Penta then tope con hilo's him. Penta does an up and over into a backcracker then slingblades him. Penta gets his leg swept off the apron and pushed into the rails. We then go to PiP break and return.

Penta hits some lariats then splashes him from the 2nd rope. They fight on the apron. Black goes in and Penta slingshots through the ropes and rolls into a cutter on him. Black misses a top rope footstomp then hits a jumping knee. Black then 2nd buckle moonsaults him outside. Black then hits a top rope foot stomp for 2. Black high kicks him then they fight on top. Penta hits a 2nd rope package piledriver. Black then recovers after blocking a pumphandle move and kick and spinning high kicks him for the win.

Wasn't a fan of this one. The package piledriver should have finished it as should have Black's top rope double stomp.

Pac comes down after and stares down Black.

Miro then does a video. He says he will redeem all opponents at Forbidden Door.

Wardlow does a video saying he always gets what he wants. He says he wants the TNT Title. He said he is coming for everything he wants and says he will welcome Scorpio Sky to Wardlow's World.

Adam Page vs Silas Young

Why is Silas Young here? Who knows. This is his debut and it seems like a lock that he loses here. Adam Cole is on commentary.

Young cartwheels and kips up out of a wristlock then Page snapemares him. They trip each other and Young bridges into a pin attempt then gets kicked. They trade chops and Young eye rakes him. Page misses a plancha on him. Young throws him into the ring but Page rebounds and lariats him. Page then top rope moonsaults onto him on the floor.

We go to PiP break and return. Page superplexes him then fallaway slams him. Page then plancha's him outside and top ope clotheslines him inside for 2. Young comes back with a backbreaker and a lariat while Page is on his knee. Young then rolling fireman's carries him and gets german'd and lariated it. Page then wins with the buckshot lariat.

I didn't really get this one. I don't like people losing in their debuts and I just don't get why they would use Young for this. A win over him means nothing because nobody knows who he is, since they didn't introduce him. Why not just have him beat Max Caster or something?

Adam Cole comes out then Jay White follows. He says he is responsible for making the PPV as big as it could be. He said his opponent still can't be Cole as he lost to Page twice. He then tells Page it won't be him either. Page attacks him then Cole comes down and gets hit. Page gets low blowed by Cole and White beats up on Page. Cole then tries to hit White with the belt but White sees it before it happens. Kazuchika Okada then comes out. He fights both guys and Page helps. White and Cole leave and that's it.

This was poorly done. Okada is supposed to be the biggest star involved in this thing from the NJPW end and he was hardly put over as a big guy here. AEW also brought him out without introducing him firat and I doubt a lot of people knew who he was.

Stokeley, Kiera and Jade are interviewed. We are told Red Velvet is injured. Jade says she is still undefeated. Stokeley forces Tony to do a drumroll sound and Stokeley says they are looking for a new baddie via twitter.

Kris and Athena are interviewed. They said they want to be baddies too and mocked them. They said they will take out any new baddies who get in their way. They said they have Willow Nightingale on their side and Athena tells Jade to "cut the sh!t".

I skipped the women's match because of a certain non-woman who was involved.

Darby and Sting did a quick promo. Darby said he doesn't believe Kyle isn't medically cleared. Darby said his partners for the 8-man are Shingo and Hiromu, whom nobody could possibly know unless they watch NJPW.

They ran down the Rampage card. Rey Fenix and Andrade do promos on each other. Rey said Andrade took away his title shot in the battle royale. Rey said the Lucha Bros work for nobody and challenged him. I don't know what Andrade said except that he would see him on Rampage.

They announced a Buy-In match for the Forbidden Door PPV with more NJPW guys nobody who isn't a hardcore fan would know. Excalibur also got lost during the card run down and also ran into an error at another point during it.

Chris Jericho and Lance Archer vs Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi

They all fight in the ring to start. Mox and Jericho go outside and Jericho is put into the rails. Tana knee dropkicks Lance then takes a full nelson slam. Mox hits his elbow flurry on Jericho then lariats him over the top. Mox crossfaces him and yells right into the camera. Jericho catapults Mox's neck into the bottom rope.

Archer gets in and pounces Mox. We go to PiP break and return. Jericho goes for a lionsault and Mox gets his knees up. Tana gets in and forearms Jericho then 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him. Tana flipping sentons Jericho from the 2nd rope. Jericho codebreakers Tana then Mox topes Archer. Jericho and Tana trade elbows and Tana crossbodies him from the top but Jericho rolls through. Jericho then boston crabs him.

Mox breaks up the crab with a cutter and Archer boots his face. Tana then sling blades Lance. Mox and Lance forearm each other then Mox ddt's him. Tana high fly flows Lance and wins it.

Well, at least Tana won on his debut here, but as usual, Lance Archer loses. Some things never change. It was fine and all but nothing really special. It did feel a little rushed.

Eddie Kingston comes down and beats up Jericho and Sammy Guevarra. Wheeler Yuta joins in then Minoru Suzuki comes down. He fights with Yuta. Shota Umino then joins the fight then the rest of the JAS comes down. Mox and Tana stare each other down while Santana and Ortiz come down. Everyone fights while Mox and Tana stare down.

Overall thoughts: I didn't like this show at all. We had people losing on their debuts and they did a poor job of introducing Okada and Shota Umino. Lance Archer also lost like he always does and we had matches made with people who haven't even been introduced on the program. This is not how you do an inter-promotional show.
