Adam Page came out as Red Dragon and The Young Bucks argued. He nailed Red Dragon and the bucks left Page alone in the ring. Adam Cole came down to beat up Page but Page got the better of him. Red Dragon pulled out Cole before Page could hit the buckshot lariat, then John Silver flip dive'd on Red Dragon. Page then nailed O'Reilly with the buckshot lariat when Silver threw him in. This did little to help out Cole as Page beat him up until he got saved.
Page talked about the history of Cole and said he's getting closer to digging his own grave.
Bryan Danielson was interviewed. He said he was impressed by Daniel Garcia. He said he is technically excellent and violent on the mat, but he is hanging out with 2.0. He said he would give Moxley an answer about bleeding with him soon.
MJF came out to talk. He said he loves wrestling and AEW and wrestling gets him out of bed in the morning. He said his match with Punk meant everything to him. He said he has ADHD and other disabilities and got picked on for it in school. He brought up him being Jewish (Why) and said he was good at football. He told some story of people being racist to him and said seeing Punk that day made it better. He said he saw some Punk vs Bryan Danielson match on youtube that inspired him and said Punk left him high and dry in 2014 when he retired (they never stated this though). He said he won't quit in their match as he would be no better than him. Punk came down, asked MJF if this was true and then MJF ran off.
This was an awful promo that was more of face promo than a heel promo and reminded me of the Cody patriotic promo that also sucked. AEW really needs to stay away from these race/ethnicity based promos.
2.0 and Garcia did a promo. Matt Lee didn't like that Bryan was trying to recruit his partner and Garcia was hard to understand but said he was born and raised into violence.
Kings of the Black Throne vs Penta El Cero Miedo and Pac
Penta came out behind a tombstone with a shovel and is now Penta Oscuro. His translator Alex was also dressed up as a minion. He got smoke jets for his entrance.
Penta superkicks both opponents early then crossbodies them off the top. Pac hit a 450 on Black and Kind hit a nice lariat on Pac. Pac was on Penta's shoulders then King chopped Pac and it forced a reverse hurricanrana on Penta. Black hit a top rope meteora/M. Bison stomp then german'd Pac. Brody hit a big lariat on Pac.
Pac hit some kicks to the face of Brody and german'd him. Brody did a blind tag and took a double superkick. Penta prevented Black misting him and then won it.
This was kind of spotty but this was a match neither team could really lose. Penta couldn't because he is now a new character and Kind and Black can't because they are new heels. They ended up losing.
Black grabbed the shovel Penta brought. He tried to ram the shovel into him then the lights went off and Buddy Murphy (now Buddy Matthews) appeared. Black was scared and begging off then Buddy nailed Penta and Pac. Brody King then ran over Alex and security. Buddy then curbstomped Penta on a chair.
The lights then went out again for some reason and nothing happened.
This was a dumb segment. Why would Buddy interrupt the shovel attack? And who debuts a new character to a loss?
Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa talked about each other. Britt said she beat her and Rosa never beat her.
Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho had their in-ring meeting. Security was there and Eddie didn't like the judas song. Eddie said this is a wrestling company and not a sports entertainment company. Jericho said everyone was excited Eddie was coming to AEW and he didn't know him. He said Eddie looked like a jobber and thats why he hadn't heard of him. He said he heard his promo and said he was good and said he'd be a big babyface. Eddie asked what a babyface is.
Chris said Eddie is jealous of him because it took him until 38 to get to the big time, while Jericho did it at 22. He then called him Edward. Eddie said he didn't care about Jericho's history and said Jericho only made it because he wasn't there. He said he doesn't leech off people like him. He said he'd rather do things on his own and didn't want Jericho to try and take away from him. Eddie challenged him to a match. Jericho said Eddie was afraid of success and said if he tried, he'd fail . He called Eddie's uncle and dad failures and said Eddie can't win the big one. He said he is the big one and said he'd accept his challenge. Jericho said he'd tell him he respects him if he wins and Eddie told Jericho to give him the Jericho that won the title and bled buckets. Jericho then called him a loser and said he couldn't win the big one.
The second part was much better than the first where they were using shoot terms and talking about sports entertainment.
AHFO did a segment in the stairwell.
Ricky Starks vs 10
10 looked good here and this was short but decent.
Undisputed Era were talking about their win then the Young Bucks came in mad. Kyle and Fish said they had a chance to get in next week to the tag title match and the Bucks said they are more motivated now. Cole told them they need to get along.
TBS Women's Title - Jade Cargill vs The Bunny
They stared down face to face. Jade armlocked her and held her up by it then dropped her. Jade sat on the apron and Bunny forearmed her in the back of the head, then russian leg sweeped her into the rail. We went to break and returned with Bunny raking the eyes and flying at her. Jade caught her and spinebustered her. Matt Hardy got on the apron and knucks were thrown in. Mark Sterling got on the apron and threw the title in. Jade hit the knucks with the title and both managers were kicked out. Bunny rolled up Jade for 2 and superkicked her. Jade then hit the double chicken wing drop and won it.
This wasn't anything special.
Jade was interviewed after. She asked who's next? Tay Conti then came out. She said she was the one who was going to beat her and then got in her face. They brawled and The Bunny went after Tay but got taken out, then Jade pump kicked Tay. Anna Jay then did the world's slowest run in, which was more of a walk in, with a chair and Jade left.
Keith Lee was interviewed. Starks walked in and mocked his voice. He said Team Taz runs things around here and Keith is starting all over. He told him to stay in his lane then Hobbs stared him down.
Bryan Danielson vs Daniel Garcia
Bryan hit punches from the mount and tried to suplex him into an armbar. Bryan kicked him while he was down and Danielson flipped over him from the corner then did a big flip for Garcia's spear into his knee.
We went to PiP break and returned. Garcia dragon screwed him. Bryan suplexed him from the inside to outside of the ring then hit a running knee off the apron. Danielson hit a top rope dropkick then kneebar'd him. Danielson hit a tiger suplex then cattle mutilation. Garcia came back with an ankle lock and tried another dragon screw but was stomped on. Danielson then won with a triangle in a pointless match.
Danielson said that Garcia gave him what he wanted to see then 2.0 jumped him. Moxley came out to make the save and cleared the heels off. Mox then got a paradigm shift ddt. Danielson then said they need to bleed together and said he accepted their match but said Mox would be the only person bleeding.
Overall thoughts: A really bad edition of Dynamite. It started off cold with a tag team battle royale, the MJF promo sucked and Penta losing in his new character debut sucked. Buddy Matthews' debut also didn't make much sense and Jericho/Eddie broke kayfabe. We then got a cold main event.
