AJW - 8/9/1992 - Aja Kong vs Takako Inoue

AJW - 8/9/1992 - Aja Kong vs Takako Inoue

Aja rages after Takako jumps her during her entrance

Aja got the win in about 6 minutes with a piledriver on Takako. This was all squash unfortunately with Takako getting little in besides some stuff at the start. Aja was of course very stiff but I wasn't that impressed with Takako's selling. Aja was fun here though as the bully, but there's nothing you need to see here.

All Japan Women's 11/14/1990 Wrestlemarinepia 1990 - Honey Wings vs Etsuko Mita and Mima Shimoda

All Japan Women's 11/14/1990 Wrestlemarinepia 1990 - Honey Wings vs Etsuko Mita and Mima Shimoda

Maeda green, Takahashi pink

Shimoda black, Mita white

The finish - Mika(pink) misjudges and bellyflops

Maeda and Takahashi got the win after double headbutts. Takahashi didn't get any air and basically bellyflopped on the mat which was rather funny. Aside from that, this was a strong match. They kept a very fast pace the whole time, fought for every move and did bring the stiffness.  Mita was throwing people like Lesnar. Mika and Maeda flew all around with Maeda looking good doing it. They didn't go anything too crazy here but I loved the fighting for each move and the submission work was very good. These girls couldn't have been any more than 2 years into this, but the Honey Wings looked like pros already and were already better than today's WWE Divas 5 years into it. I'm still not sold on Shimoda at this point though as she doesn't stick out. Really good stuff and if you like solid wrestling, this is for you. Rating:***1/2

AJW 8/6/1988 - Manami Toyota/Mima Shimoda vs Toshiyo Yamada/Etsuko Mita

AJW 8/6/1988 -  Manami Toyota/Mima Shimoda vs Toshiyo Yamada/Etsuko Mita

Etsuko Mita

Toshiyo Yamada

Manami Toyota

Botch...ow

The pin

Toshiyo Yamada got the pin on Mima Shimoda with a backdrop. This was your standard young girl match with dropkicks, armdrags, hairwhips and backdrops. Nothing special to this as expected, but I figured I might as well cap and gif it anyway. Lots of botches all around here and tons of bad dropkicks, but Toyota had the aggression early on that made her look like she had some potential. Nothing to see here and this was very forgetful, but the crowd was nice about it.

AJPW 12/10/1994 - Toshiaki Kawada and Akira Taue vs Giant Baba and Stan Hansen

AJPW 12/10/1994 - Toshiaki Kawada and Akira Taue vs Giant Baba and Stan Hansen

The finish

Stan Hansen got the win over Taue at 26:30 with a lariat. Great match here. They told a few stories here with the heels picking on the older Baba and the Hansen/Baba superbuddy legends team. While Baba was clearly old and his moves were weak, he sold well and hit his moves at the right time. Hansen was awesome all match was great facials, stiff shots and cheerleading Baba on. The heels were really good as well and I loved them picking on poor Baba. The crowd was really into it and helped the match along big time, forgiving Baba's age and weak moves. Hansen's fire-up spot near the end was really cool and his final lariat was nasty. I absolutely love the Baba/Hansen team. This match is a good representation of the charm of pro wrestling and really is special. While I did think the finish was a bit sudden and that it should have gone a little longer, I recommend checking it out. Rating:****1/2
