We are in Norfolk, VA. Vic Joseph and Booker T are on commentary.
We see various wrestlers arrive.
Brock Lesnar comes out to talk. R-Truth comes out before Brock can say anything. Truth sings his What's Up theme. He says he'll tell ya what's up and Brock says, "man, shut up". Truth says he will be the first star to say, "Brock, welcome back". Truth says he used to be scared of him but he ain't scared of him anymore. Brock says he doesn't know who he is and say he better have a good reason for interrupting him. Truth says he's been disrespecting John Cena, his childhood hero and older brother for the past 25 years.
Brock asks how old he is and what's his name. Truth says he's done with the disrespect. Brock says he's only here for Cena and asks if he knows where he is. Truth says he doesn't and Brock asks why he's in his ring. Truth says he's here to defend his childhood hero and his older brother Cena. Truth says his name is "Ron Cena".
Brock says so Truth doesn't know where Cena is. Brock asks why he's here. Truth says he's here to stop the disrespect and says Cena is built different. He said Cena went crazy and made a kid cry. He says Super Cena is coming for Brock. He says Cena won't be running from The Beast, he'll be beating on him. Truth says him and Cena have the same daddy. Brock asks if he knows he's missing a tooth. Brock then F-5's him and splits his pants doing it. Brock then moons the crowd.
Thoughts: This didn't work but at least Brock beat him up as expected. Brock played off ripping his pants well. I don't know what they are doing with Truth but if they fired him tomorrow, he would not get the reaction he got the first time they fired him.
Sami Zayn talks in the back. He says Cena gave him the green light to keep these open challenges going. He says they never fought but they go 1 on 1 tonight. He wishes someone luck that we can't see and it turns out to be Rey Fenix. Rey thanks him for the opportunity.
We see Penta, Dorian Roldan, Marisela Pena, Undertaker, Triple H and Shawn Michaels arrive for Worlds Collide tonight.
We get a Solo Sikoa video. He asks if we knew what he had to sacrifice to get the US Title. He says he sacrificed love and loyalty to prove what? That it could be taken out of his hands? He say he lost The Bloodline, his title and the ulafala. He says things will change and he will take back what he lost. He says he's been living in the shadows of others too long and it's time for others to live in his shadow and his MFT's shadow.
WWE United States Title - Sami Zayn (c) vs Rey Fenix
Sami hits armdrags early and armlocks him. Rey kips up, walks up the buckles, does rope tricks and corkscrew diving armdrags him. Rey bottom rope springboard headscissors him. Sami avoids a dive. We go to break and return.
Sami tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him for 2. Rey springboard kicks him while he's on the apron and tornillo planchas him outside. Rey top rope crossbodies him inside for 2.
Rey counters a blue thunder with a headscissors for 2. Rey superkicks him for 2. Rey misses a top rope moonsault. Sami misses a helluva kick then Rey rolls into a jumping ddt on him for 2. We go to break and return.
Rey is on the buckles and is hit. Rey top rope double stomps Sami's back while he sits up top. Rey double springboard moonsaults him for 2. Rey's handspring is caught with a blue thunder for 2. Sami exploders him into the buckles. Reyn rolls into a hurricanrana for 2.
Rey rope walk kicks him. Rey misses a springboard spin kick and is explodered into the buckles. Sami helluva kicks him for the win.
Thoughts: We had two breaks during this which definitely cut it up some. What we got was a fun high flying match with some creative spots. Sami won here as expected.
We see B-Fab on the phone. Giulia and Kiana James go up to her. Giulia says they made an example of Michin like they said they would. Fab says they jumped Michin. Giulia then says something I couldn't understand. Fab had her ear painted silver here for some reason.
We see Rey Mysterio, Lola Vice, Mr. Iguana, Dominik Mysterio and El Hijo del Vikingo arrive.
We get a Wyatt Sicks video. Howdy wonders where The Profits go from here. Howdy says they aren't at war with flesh but principality. Rowan says people never truly appreciate what they have until it's gone. He says The Profits have a tough choice ahead of them. Howdy says they aren't the ones to blame, they just sold the seeds. He asks where do The Profits go from here and says follow the buzzards.
Giulia vs B-Fab
Kiana James piefaces B-Fab on the apron and is hit. G facekicks Gab off the apron. G sends her into the rails. KJ stomps on Fab in the ring then G pumping knees Fab. G maybe goes for a curbstomp then Michin comes out with a kendo stick. Mich hits KJ with the kendo stick then G runs away from her.
We see Drew McIntyre working out in the back.
We get a video on them announcing Wrestlemania 43 will be in Saudi Arabia. I think you should take the money and run if you get a great offer but I'd prefer it be a US thing only.
We get an Aleister Black. He said he poisoned Damian Priest with doubt. He says the venom will run its course. He says he's the sickness and the cure. He says it's violence vs violence and he shall be its profit.
WWE Women's Title - Tiffany Stratton (c) vs Jade Cargill
This is V8 (8 title defenses) for Tiff. Jade misses a pump kick and takes forearms. Jade holds her up by her throat and blocks an armdrag. Tiff is popped up and dropkicks Jade. She handspring back elbows her but flips out of a backdrop. Jade powerslams Tiff for 2.
Tiff stops a suplex with a knee to the face. Tiff rolls her up for 2. Jade is sent out then Tiff slingshot plancha's her. We go to PiP break and return.
Jade catches a crossbody and fallaway slams Tiff. They lariat each other. Tiff hurricanrana's her out of the powerbomb position then handspring back elbows her. Tiff basement dropkicks her. Tiff barely makes it on a top rope swanton for 2.
Jade superkicks her. Tiff sweeps her on the apron. Tiff is caught on a baseball slide and dropped face first on the apron edge. Tiff finlay rolls her then is crotched on a top rope moonsault attempt. Jade hits a blue thunder for 2. Tiff rolls her up for 2. Tiff alabama slams her. Jade avoids a double jump moonsault and pump kicks her.
They trade chest forearms. Jade misses a pump kick on the ropes. Jade superkicks her on the apron. Jade misses a charge and goes into the post shoulder first. Tiff misses a top rope moonsault and lands hard, seemingly hitting her head off the floor. Jade picks up Tiff and drives her through the rails. The girls then get double counted out.
Thoughts: Tiff has to stop doing some of her flying moves. She's had too many close calls and it's not worth it. She barely made the top rope swanton and landed hard on the moonsault outside. Jade did some new moves here like the blue thunder which I don't recall her doing. It was better than I expected and pretty athletic.
Nia Jax comes out and beats up Jade after. Jade is sent into the post and steps. Nia samoan drops her on the floor. Nia headbutts Tiff. Nia throws her down inside. Nia then banzai drops her.
Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre talk to Nick Aldis. Green says they are waiting for a tag title opportunity. They complain about Charlotte saying she's injured. Nick says the injury is legit and Green says Charlotte is protected. Green says if Nick doesn't do what she wants, he will find out why she's called The Hot Mess. Nick says they should face the winners of the women's tag title match at Homecoming.
The Miz talks to Nick. Miz seems to misunderstand what Nick says about Melo.
We get a video on the history of Brock Lesnar vs John Cena with clips from OVW. Randy Orton and Batista do some talking in it as well.
Rey Mysterio is interviewed. He says tonight is a historical night for WWE and AAA. Dominik Mysterio walks in. He says he will be the first Mysterio to be Mega Campeon and double champ. He says Rey should raise the hand of the winner and put the belt around the winner. Rey agrees.
Finn Balor walks in. He says the best way for Dom to show the world he's the best luchador of all time is to win the title alone.
Sami Zayn is interviewed. He says Rey Fenix is a future star and will do huge things. Carmelo Hayes walks in. He says he's calling his shot and has got next for the US Title. Sami tells him not to miss. The Miz then walks in. Miz says Melo spoke to him about a title opportunity. Miz asks if its the tag titles and Melo says it's the US Title. Miz says Melo can do anything but he wants to guide him down the right path. He says the right path is the tag titles. Melo says he could win the US Title and the tag titles.
Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton
They lock up and go into the corner. Drew hits punches and bangs Orton's head off the buckles. Orton lariats him then hit euros. Orton does mounted corner punches then lariats him over the top rope.
We go to break and return. Orton suplexes him and does the garvin stomp. Orton knee drops him. Orton holds his knee and is kicked in it. Drew running forearms him in the knee. Drew kneebreakers Orton on his shoulder.
Drew yanks on the leg then figure fours him. Orton reverses it and Drew ropebreaks. Orton backdrops him. Drew's head is banged off the commentary table. Orton eye rakes him then backdrops him. Drew chop blocks him outside.
We go to PiP break and return. They trade punches. Drew slams Ortons' leg into the ropes. They fight in the aisle. Orton eye pokes him and bangs Drew's head off the buckles. Drew is pushed into the post shoulder first.
Orton hits lariats. Orton's neck is pulled over the top rope. Orton powerslams him. They go out and Drew is backdropped on the commentary table twice. Drew claymore kicks him and Orton rolls out. They get back in and Orton RKO's him.
Orton's back is rammed into the apron edge. Orton's head is busted open and he hits a draping ddt. Orton goes for the punt and the ref gets in the way. Orton misses a punt. Orton is pushed nearly into the ref and Drew claymore kicks him for the win.
Thoughts: It's not like the work was bad but there was a lot of legwork that didn't really go anywhere. I didn't like the ref getting in the way of the punt either as he potentially cost Orton the match with it.
Drew goes to attack him more after. Cody Rhodes comes out and beats up Drew. Cody hits a springboard diving cutter. Cody gets on the mic after and says the champ is back. He says he will see him at Wrestlepalooza.
Overall thoughts: The opening segment didn't really work though Brock made the best of his pants ripping. Sami/Fenix got cut up by breaks but it was a fun high flying match. Tiffany/Jade was athletic and Jade did some stuff she normally doesn't do. Tiff came close to hurting herself bad though twice and really needs to stop doing some of the flying. I didn't love Drew/Orton as they did leg work that didn't really go anywhere and the ref stopped Orton from doing the punt which sucked. Cody then returned after. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 as there was stuff that could have been better here.
