CWA Campeones del Hexagono 7/16/2022
This can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TtrebsCJNcThis is from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. As their name may suggest, they have a 6 sided ring.
Manuel Rodriguez goes into CWA Vice President Hansel Velez's office. Manuel is not a CWA roster member but holds two titles. He says they are still looking for Robert Diaz. Velez rips up some files and offers Manuel the chance to rematch with a team he wants to fight, but says he has to find a partner. Manuel seems to say he doesn't trust anyone and he doesn't work well with partners.
El Cazador vs Sacrilegio
Cazador wears a cowboy outfit, has a mask with a bandana on it and has horns. He is out there with his manager and tag team partner, Akiles. Cazador attacks him early then Sac comes back with a hiptoss, a botched armdrag and a dropkick. Sac armdrags him again then Caz lariats him then Caz's partner chokes him with a bullrope outside. Caz's partner and manager then take free shots on Sac while the ref is distracted.
Caz hits Sac in the throat then Sac is crotched on the post by Caz's crew. Sac is then slammed for 2. Sac comes back with a facebuster. He makes his comeback with some decent punches then flying forearms Caz. Sac tries to twisting springboard on Sac but doesn't get all of it. Caz then slams him down and hits him with his bullrope while the ref is distracted. Caz then picks up the win.
Sacrilegio tried here but he botched a bunch of stuff. This was real simple with the heels cheaitng for most of the match leading into the finish.
The tag champs, Bambino and Rodrigo Garcia are interviewed then Los Toros Salvajes (Akiles and Cazador) jump them from behind. Rodrigo is thrown into the lockers then he is lifted and hanged with the cowbell rope.
We get an ad for a nice looking little restaurant called Aquel Sitio and a couple more restaurant ads. We then get an ad for a Pharmacy with IWA's Wizard.
Bulldozer vs Jesus El Olimpico
Bulldozer is awesome. He wears rhino themed entrance gear with a giant horn on his head and other horns. Where has this wrestler been all my life? Bulldozer tries to get cheers but Jesus gets much bigger cheers from the crowd. They then make the ref try to get cheers and his too are louder. Dozer throws Jesus down early and Jesus hilariously botches a roll-up. Jesus then hits a bad dropkick but follows it up with a better one.
Jesus boots him from the corner then is pulled off the 2nd rope. Dozer pushes his head into the mat then spinning heel kicks him. Dozer clubs his chest and pulls both arms back. Dozer hten hits an overhead belly to belly. Dozer catches his boot and spins him then Jesus spin kicks him twice. Jesus hits some nice punches on Dozer then jumping stunners him twice.
Jesus does an up and over in the corner then ddt's him or 2. Jesus goes up to the 2nd rope and misses a crossbody. Dozer then hits an F-5a and wins it.
Jesus was sloppy here but I thought he had the right idea. Dozer was a decent big man here. The crowd was into this as well which helped things.
Voltech Rivera talks to Hansel Velez in the back. They shake hands and Rivera takes his napkin to wipe his head. Rivera I think says he wants a chance at something but it was hard to figure out what he said. Velez seemed to agree to it.
We get another commercial then Jesus El Olimpico does a promo. He says he will show us on July 30th that he is the only one.
Akiles Falcon vs Alexander El Natural
Akiles hits some punches early then Alex armdrags him. Akiles rolls out then the Toros get on both sides of the ring. Alex is distracted by one and gets nailed by the other. Alex then gets choked with the bullrope by Cazador. Akiles leg drops Alex then we go to a long break and return. Akiles flapjacks Alex then Alex hits a heavy 2nd rope dropkick on him. Alex hits some nice punches on Akiles then Alex flapjacks him for 2.
Akiles full nelson slams Alex for 2. The ref gets distracted by Akiles' manager then Alex takes a double team powerbomb move. Akiles then picks up the win.
The ending was a little too hard to buy but this wasn't too bad otherwise. Alex's dropkick was nice and he hit some nice punches.
Angel Rodriguez and Los Inmortales do a promo on Manuel Rodriguez. They say they will fight him but he has to put his titles up on the line. Angel then points and does an evil laugh to close the promo after his team says something. I don't know all of what he said, but Angel was awesome here. He has a great evil laugh and the promo was good enough that I didn't even need to fully get it to understand it.
That's the end of the show.
Overall thoughts: I thought it was a good hour of wrestling. There was a lot of botching, but the ideas were good and I thought some of the personalities were good. I enjoyed this and probably will check it out again. It's odd, but I think Puerto Rico really does a better version of American wrestling than America does.
