WWE NXT Level Up 6/17/2022
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/06/wwe-nxt-level-up-6102022.html
Nigel and Sudu Sha are your announcers as usual. Nigel has a cut off sleeves Chase-U shirt on.
Thea Hail vs Arianna Grace
She has a hammerlock on there if you look hard |
Thea has black and red Chase-U gear on and Grace is wearing pink and a boa.
They lock up and Thea rolls out of the corner. Grace headlock takeovers her. Grace slams her but Thea rolls through it into an armlock. Grace arm wringers her over the top rope then pulls on her arms as she is behind the ropes. Grace hammerlocks her then turns that into a hammerlock ddt for 2.
Grace continues with the hammerlock and is back body dropped. Thea then flipping neckbreakers her from the side but Grace doesn't do a good bump for it. Grace then picks her up and hammerlocks her as she is seated on her. Thea then hooks up Grace's arm with her leg and rolls her up for the pin.
It wasn't great or anything but they tried.
Myles Borne vs Guru Raaj
This is Borne's debut. People were kind of calling him a Randy Orton lookalike online and the announcers even mentioned it. Borne double arm northern lights suplexes him. Raaj tries to twist him over with his heels but Borne cartwheels out of it then Raaj does a forward cartwheel flip out of a throw.
Borne does a very nice roll into a pin attempt then Raaj takes a great bump on an armdrag. Borne does a great headlock takeover into a pin then hits another great armdrag. Raaj comes back with a nice northern lights release suplex. Borne comes back with some nice dropkicks and slams him for 2.
Borne goes for another but Raaj holds onto the ropes then hits a punch combo. Raaj running facekicks him then 2nd rope facebusters him for the win.
Shocked they had Raaj win this one, but this was a pretty good match for NXT standards. Borne is insanely athletic and has an extra spring to everything he does. He looks like he is going to be something and impressed in his debut. You gotta see this guy.
Ivy Nile vs Elektra Lopez
The D'Angelo Family is with Lopez. Stacks and Two Dimes kick Cruz and Wilde out during the intro.
Ivy headlocks her then Lopez picks her up on her back. She rolls into a pin attempt. Ivy punches her out of the corner then superman punches her and suplexes her. Lopez puts her on her shoulder and bangs her off her knee then hits some boots.
Lopez hits a spinning chop and a double chop and Ivy comes back with kicks. Lopez slams her then puts her in a version of la swastika/octopus stretch. Lopez kind of does a version of a grounded cobra twist. They trade shots and Lopez bolo punches her then Ivy hits leg kicks. Ivy step up enzugiri's her then does her flying kick. Lopez goes for a side slam then Ivy wins it with her version of the dragon sleeper.
Lopez showed some improvement here but she still has a long way to go and Ivy could only do so much with it. The finish was nice but Lopez is still too green.
Overall thoughts: You really should go see the Myles Borne match if you can. He impressed in his debut and seems like he will be a player. The two women's matches weren't the dirt worst and there was some improvement from the girls in them, but they could have been better.
