Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/06/wwe-evolve-632026-last-weeks-show-is.html
We are the Performance Center in Orlando, FL. Peter Rosenberg and Robert Stone are on commentary.
Aaron Rourke says there's a lot going on tonight and says Thatcher has a big announcement tonight. He says Cole is fighting Lewis tonight and says good luck. He says he knows Lewis is waiting for the chance to fight him but he can't look past Tristan Angels tonight. He says Angels earned the title shot but he earned an @ss whooping.
Harlem Lewis vs Braxton Cole
Lewis hits Cole in the aisle and bangs his head off the apron. he euros him. Cole misses an elbow drop then Lewis running lariats him. The bell rings. Cole neckbreakers him. Lewis clubs on him and takes a knee to the gut. Lewis flying back elbows him, slams him and elbow drops him for 2.
Cole hits a shake, rattle and roll and a legdrop. Cole stomps on him. Lewis hits forearms. Cole double throat thrusts him. Cole pulls Lewis' armpit into the ropes then Cole running elbows him. Cole release suplexes him for 2.
Cole works the arm then codebreakers the arm. Cole armbars him. Lewis side slams him. Lewis hits running lariats then flying knees him. Lewis germans him. They trade shots outside. Cole grabs a chair, hits him in the arm and back and is DQ'd.
Thoughts: Cole mostly worked the arm here. It wasn't anything too great but it was acceptable enough with Cole being a heel and both getting some big shots in. The finish was disappointing.
Security pulls on Lewis' arm and pull him to the back in rough fashion. Cole laughs.
Tate Wilder talks to Timothy Thatcher. Tim says he did everything and then some here. Tim says Stone wants him to focus on NXT. He tells him he's working on Tuesday nights and he has earned. Tate says Evolve took him to another level. Tim tells him to enjoy himself and have fun.
Tim says he's finalizing some big news for tonight. He says the winner of the Evolve Title match will have some big news.
Chazz "Starboy" Hall does a video. He says he made a good first impression and maybe it's how he walks to the top rope or his denim. He says when the straps come down, the denim comes out. He says he's not the biggest or strongest but has the most heart and the cutest smile. He promises we will be left starstruck when we see him in the ring.
Tristan Angels is putting hair spray on in the back.
Nikkita Lyons and Sloane Jacobs vs Wendy Choo and Laynie Luck
Luck and NL start us off. Luck rolls her up for 2. NL then does the same. NL wristlocks her then slams her. SJ legdrops Luck for 2. Luck takes a double back elbow. Luck upkicks NL and euros her in the corner. Choo running facekicks NL. NL is tripped into a basement dropkick and elbow drop.
Luck flying headscissors NL. NL kicks her then Luck gets her knees up then NL tries a butt drop on her. NL is swept on the apron then Choo cannonballs SJ off the apron. We go to break and return. NL swinging drops Luck on her chest. Luck is catapulted throat first into the bottom rope. NL stomps her.
NL stands on her. SJ side slams Luck for 2. SJ trips Luck and bangs her face off the mat. SJ 2nd rope elbow drops Luck's back for 2. Luck headscissors NL then enzugiri's SJ. Luck rolls up NL for 2.
Choo comes in and hits lariats on SJ. Choo pepsi twist lariats SJ. Choo cartwheel forearms SJ in the corner and running boots her in the chest. Choo 2nd rope crossbodies her for 2. SJ bangs Choo's head into the buckles with her legs. NL germans Choo for 2.
NL roundhouse kicks Choo. SJ throws out Luck and pins Choo.
Thoughts: They didn't botch but it was not that good. There's not usually any great logic to Lyons' matches. Choo and Luck did okay as faces though.
Sloane and Lyons are interviewed by Chuey. Sloane says she told us she'd be back where she belongs. She says she couldn't have done it without Lyons. Lyons says she's so happy for her but is clearly not sincere about it.
Thatcher talks to Elijah Holyfield. He says he has the pedigree and presence, but if he doesn't have the work, he won't amount to much. Eli says if you line them up, he will knock them out. Tim says his first match will be next week.
Tim says Evolve Succession III will be on 6/24 and says both the men's and women's champs will be on it.
Kam Hendrix and Harley Riggins come in. Kam complains about Tate getting to be on NXT full time. Tim says this won't fly and says to be careful what they wish for. Tim says it'll be Riggins vs Romeo Moreno next week.
We get a PJ Vasa video. The graphic says she will be here next Wednesday.
WWE Evolve Title - Aaron Rourke (c) vs Tristan Angels
TA backs up AR in the corner and says Sparkle City dies today. AR pushes him over and tells him to shut his mouth. AR side headlocks him. AR shoulders him over. AR side headlocks him.
TA chops him and elbows him in the corner. TA does a trapezius hold on him. AR goes up and over then dropkicks him in the corner. AR euros and facekicks him in the corner. AR 2nd rope dropkicks him for 2. It's GAL is in the VIP Lounge.
AR hits forearms then forward handspring double chops him. AR hits mounted corner punches. TA pulls his face first into the buckles. TA double stomps his arm. TA knees him in the ribs.
TA lariats him for 2. TA slams him. AR rolls into a half-crab on him. TA pushes him into the buckles then stomps on him. TA foot chokes him in the corner. AR hits kicks and superkicks him. AR dropkicks him while he's between the ropes. AR meteora's him fro mthe apron to the floor. TA boots AR off the apron. TA dropkicks him off the apron.
We go to break and return. They trade shots. AR short arm lariats him several times. AR cartwheel lariats him. AR 619's him. TA double boots him out of the corner. TA comes off the ropes and AR spears him down for 2.
TA boots AR. AR boots him out of the corner. AR sits up top and takes a step up enzugiri. TA deadlift superplexes him for 2. AR sweeps TA off the buckles. AR figure fours him.
TA double throat thrusts him. AR backslides him with a bridge and pins him.
Thoughts: They tried. AR busts out some new athletic stuff every time we see him now but it wasn't a great match. Angels is just not a super exciting guy in the ring yet but outside of the ring he's getting it. I thought this went a little too long and declined the longer it went. AR won as expected.
The Mog Squad comes out. Max says to clap it up for The Mog Squad. Max says the main man needs the main title. The Squad then surrounds the ring. Cappuccino Jones then comes out with Marcus Mathers and Sam Holloway. They all fight The Squad. The show ends with them fighting.
Thoughts: I was wondering what happened to Sam and Marcus. Well, maybe not Sam so much since he's never been a regular, but neither has been around much.
Overall thoughts: It wasn't that great of an Evolve show. The NXT call-up's have hit the brand hard, though if people aren't getting called up, the brand is failing at its job. They've also seemed to cut back on the blue chip college athletes and are investing more in indy talents, whom I don't always see the potential in. Lewis/Cole was acceptable. The women's tag match was nothing special and just so-so. The main started off well but got a little too much time and got a little boring. I'd give the show a lower 5 out of 10 and thought it was just average.
