Carmelo Hayes vs Kit Wilson

Kit nails Melo as he poses on the ropes. Kit drops him on the rail outside. Kit flying euros him in the corner and stomps on him. Melo springboard twisting lariats him. Melo hits shots in the corner then does mounted corner punches.

Melo kicks im then legdrops him for 2. Kit pulls Melo's throat over the top rope. Kit flying back elbows him then hits mounted punches. Kit lariats him for 2. Kit does a cobra clutch. Kit boots him in the face and euros him. 

Kit misses a flying back elbow. Melo hits punches. Melo rolls over Kit's back and lariats him. Melo la mistica drops him for 2. Melo superkicks him for 2. Melo pump kicks him and Kit does a rebound lariat off the sell. Kit top rope twisting elbow drops him for 2. 

Kit blocks a first 48 then Melo hits it on the 2nd try to win.

Thoughts: This didn't get much of a reaction early on and it's not real surprise. Kit has a new character but it hasn't been pushed all that much and he hasn't really gotten any interviews to explain it. Both guys are also heels. The match was fine with Melo flying around. Kit lost as expected.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) vs Alpha Academy (Otis and Akira Tozawa)

Grayson Waller is with New Day and Maxxine Dupri is with The Academy.

Otis blocks Woods' takedown. Otis tripped into the buckles and pounded on. Otis is double teamed in the corner. Otis hits a double shoulderblock. Otis puts Akira on his shoulders and swings his feet into the heels. Akira plancha's the heels outside.

We go to break and return. Akira is distracted by Waller and Kofi knocks Akira off the apron. Kofi boots Akira in the corner then Woods does the same. Woods basement dropkicks Akira in the corner then does the Fargo strut. Woods fist drops Akira for 2.

Akira cradles Woods for 2. Akira is held in the air for a Kofi legdrop for 2. Kofi trips Akira and hits a top rope club. Woods facekicks Akira. Kofi is on Woods' shoulders and is flipped into a moonsault on Akira.

Kofi tries to pop-up Akira but is hit with a ddt. Otis is tagged in. He lariats Kofi then spinning back elbows him. Otis lariats Woods and corner splashes the heels. Otis does the caterpillar elbow on Kofi for 2. Akira goes up top and Waller trips him. Otis is hit over the 2nd rope and goes out. Akira is put in the backbreaker and Woods top rope double stomps Akira. Woods pins Akira.

Thoughts: It was the usual okay Alpha Academy match. I was a little surprised to see the heels but they gotta get some W's sometime. The faces winning would have been a bit more exciting. Otis' hot tag segment could have been a little cleaner as he hit a very low spinning back elbow and slipped on the caterpillar.

Overall thoughts: It was the usual Main Event with 2 new matches and various recaps. Both matches shown were acceptable and the tag match was maybe the better one of the two. There was nothing you really need to see here but it was a quick and decent 15 minutes or so of new action.
