WWF Superstars of Wrestling 7/18/1992

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/10/wwf-superstars-of-wrestling-7111992.html

Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/10/wwf-superstars-of-wrestling-7251992.html

We will find out the Summerslam 1992 main event today.

We are in Glens Falls, NY. Mr. Perfect and Vince McMahon are our co-hosts. They talk about space. Perfect says Summerslam is a giant step for mankind as they are going to London. He says he's never seen anything like it in the universe and says it's from Venus to Uranus.

The Natural Disasters (Earthquake & Typhoon) vs Duane Gill & The Brooklyn Brawler

Quake and Brawler go at it. Brawler tries a punch and gets hit. Brawler gets nowhere with a lariat then takes an atomic drop and a lariat. Money Inc does an inset promo. IRS says they are becoming an institution in the WWF, champions today and tomorrow. Ted says The Disasters haven't figured it out.

Quake elbow drops Gill then Ty backbreakers Gill. Vince says maybe The Natural Disasters will be in the main event of Summerslam. Perfect says it'll be Macho vs Flair. Ty corner splashes Gill. Quake then splashes Ty's back onto Gil. Ty holds both opponents in the corner and Quake splashes them all. Quake powerslams Gill.

Quake hits the butt drop then Ty hits a splash on Gill to win.

Thoughts:
It was all squash as usual here with The ND's winning with ease. There was a lot of squashing going on here and

WWF Update

Mean Gene Okerlund talks Summerslam in London. He says the show sold out in 10 hours. He says they have Summerslam Fever. We see clips from a press conference at Wembley. A promoter named Harvey Goldsmith talks. We see Davey Boy, Warrior and Hacksaw there. Gene says the main event of Summerslam will be The Ultimate Warrior vs "The Macho Man" Randy Savage in a WWF Title match.

Thoughts: Yeah, I didn't see that one coming. Flair and Savage have been feuding all year, so they go with Savage and Warrior instead. Warrior's also had like maybe one match on Superstars since he returned and he's been feuding with Papa Shango, so this is out of left field. This is just yet another example of the complete lack of care Vince had over his booking around this time.

Ric Flair vs Glen Ruth

Perfect is with Flair and is off commentary.

Ric pushes Glen as he enters and Glen pushes back. Glen is thrown out. Perfect stomps on Glen outside. Ric fish hooks Glen outside then chops him. Ric stomps him inside and pulls on Glen's nose. Ric chokes Glen and Perfect slams Glen.

Ric knee drops Glen. Ric figure fours Glen and submits him.

Thoughts: Ric was a little rougher than usual here en route to an easy win.

Ric keeps the hold on after and Perfect pulls Glen's arms. Ric then 2nd rope knee drops Glen.

WWF Event Center

Sgt. Slaughter talks. He said it makes him feel good when people salute him and tell him he's got his country back. Sarge says the people tell him to keep going and watch out for Mountie's electrocution machine. He says he will. He says he's not afraid of Mountie and is coming for him.

The Nasty Boys do a promo. Saggs says LOD and High Energy are on the list to be nastysized and The Disasters may be back. Knobbs says they take no prisoners and show no mercy. Knobbs says those teams need to take a trip down to Nastyville and see what it's all about. He says they will be nastysized.

We see clips of this week's WWF Prime Time Wrestling with Bret Hart vs Rick Martel. Shawn Michaels comes out as Rick puts the crab on Bret.

Virgil vs. Dave Millison

The kids go nuts for Virgil and Perfect rejoins commentary. Virg trades wristlocks with Dave. Virg goes up and over then hits punches in the corner. Perfect complains about Ric Flair not being in the Summerslam 1992 main event. Virg backdrops Dave right on his neck.

Virg hits shots on Dave and sends him out. Virg then plancha's him and pounds on him outside. Virg hits a standing dropkick then wins with a russian legsweep.

Thoughts: Virg was moving here and was hyped up. Dave took an awful looking backdrop on his neck. Perfect complained the whole time about Flair not being in the main.

WWF Event Center

The Beverly Brothers and The Genius do a promo. Blake calls LOD "The Legion of Sissies" and calls Rocco "Socko". He asks what he will do for them? Beau says The LOD are a bunch of idiots and have a legion of sissies that keeps growing. He says he can't stand any more idiots and says he wants to take care of them once and for all.

El Matador does a promo. He says there's so much happening in the WWF and he's in the thick of things. He calls Shawn Michaels "Mr. Arrogance" and complains about Rick Martel going around with his Arrogance. He says you have to have it all up here in the mind to succeed in the WWF.

Repo Man vs. Fred Starr

Repo bangs Fred's head off the buckles then punches him. Repo backbreakers him. Repo legdrops Fred. Repo hits punches on Fred. Repo slams him then single leg crabs him to win.

Thoughts: It was a quick one and Repo's finisher didn't look good. Vince talked about a WBF vs WWF tug of war event during this and we see a hype video for it after. They call it "Body Star Wars".

Mean Gene Okerlund is on the stage and he talks about The Big Boss Man. He brings out The Big Boss Man. Boss talks about being all banged up in the hospital and says he was told he might never walk again. He said he asked himself if it was all worth it. He said a 6 year old came up to him in Georgia and asked if he was alright. Boss said that kid answered every question he needed to know. Boss said he knows what he has to do. He says Nailz didn't break him as you can't break the law. He then swears and says when he gets Nailz in the ring, he's going to kick his @ss.

The Mountie vs. Jason Knight

Mountie sings his theme in the ring. Mountie boots Jason then hits a hard slap. Mountie slaps him again. Mountie bangs Jason's head off the buckles. He then pulls him down and smothers him. Mountie throws Jason out.

Jason is sent into the side of the ring. Mountie hits a nice dropkick and pins him with his foot on his face.

Thoughts: It was your usual Mountie rough-housing squash. He got a good slap in on Jason here and Jason really had quite the look at this time.

Mountie threatens Jason with his new and improved shock stick then threatens the ref with it. Mountie gets on the mic after. He sings his song and says he's the only law and order.

We see clips from the WWF Wrestlefest '92 Coliseum Video.

We get a Razor Ramon vignette. Razor's at the beach and says the wave sounds are relaxing. He says the sound of people in the WWF putting him down is irritating. He says it sounds like those people are afraid of him. He asks if those people think he's a bully. He says he only wants fame, fortune and the WWF Title. He says if you try and stop him, then we will have a big problem. He says he will kick your stinking face into the sand then

Vito Krus vs. The British Bulldog

Vito's name used to be Von Krus, but has now changed. They shoulder battle and Davey hiptosses him. Davey hits a dropkick and a slam. Repo Man does an inset promo. He says Davey grabs his pant leg when he tries to get him. He says he doesn't like wild dogs or him, so there's only one thing he can do - choke him.

Davey hits a delayed suplex on Krus. Krus hits some punches then Davey back body drops him. Davey running powerslams him and wins.

Thoughts:
It was a short one but at least Krus got a few shots in before going down. Perfect complained about the Summerslam main event throughout this one.

WWF Event Center

Kamala does a promo with Harvey and Kim Chee. Harvey asks us to imagine standing against Kamala. He says Kamala doesn't feel pain or care about anything. He says the only one in the who can control him is Kim Chee and Chee only takes orders from him. Harvey says Kamala is coming for everyone in the WWF.

Crush does a promo. He says he has always loved to crush things and says things here are bigger and tougher to crush. He thanks the fans for giving him a lot of support. He says whoever faces him wil lfind out why he's called Crush.

Vince and Perfect talk about next week's show. Macho Man and The Ultimate Warrior will have a face to face interview. Macho says not to blink as he won't blink. He tells him to listen carefully next week as he has something to say to him. The Warrior says he will listen but he needs not to use his ears, but his eyes if Macho has anything of value to say. He says Macho will have nothing else to do but listen next week.

Overall thoughts: We have some direction here as we now know the Summerslam main event. Why it's Macho vs Warrior instead of Warrior vs Shango or Flair vs Macho? I don't know, but the build has started for Summerslam and every show will be focused on that going forward. As usual, it was all squashes and there wasn't anything you really needed to see here.
