WWE Monday Night Raw 9/8/2025

We are in Milwaukee, WI. Corey Graves and Joe Tessitore are on commentary as Wade Barrett is on vacation. 

We see clips of AJ Lee returning.

We see Seth Rollins arrive.

Jey Uso comes out through the concourse and the crowd. Jimmy Uso then joins him. Jey says Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker screwed up. Breakker and Reed then come out. Breakker tells Jimmy this isn't Raw and says The Vision runs Raw. Breakker wants to go fight them for what they did to Paul Heyman and Reed holds him back. Reed says he wants Roman's family to acknowledge The Tribal Thief. 

Reed says they deal with Roman and will deal with Jimmy. Jimmy interrupts. Jimmy says he knows where he is - on Raw. He calls them PBJ&J Security. He says they taking orders from Paul Heyman and they call him a dumb@ss. Jimmy said they got an Uso's vs Reed and Breakker match set up at Wrestlepalooza. Jey says they don't have to wait and can do it now. Reed says they can wait. 

LA Knight then attacks Reed and Bron. They fight in the aisle and The Uso's spear the heels. Reed takes shots from Jey and LA in the ring then Bron does as well. LA is nearly sent into Jey then Reed splashes Jey. Jimmy superkicks Reed out.

They announce that Raw will start at 7PM next week to better deal with the NFL.

LA Knight and Adam Pearce argue in the back. Byron then interviews LA. LA says he doesn't care about The Uso's vs The Vision. He says he didn't throw Reed into Jey on purpose and says he'd take him out to his face if he really wanted to. He says he wants one of the Bron's. He says he doesn't care if he wins or loses, he wants to take a piece with him and stomp the p!ss out of him.

AJ Styles vs El Grande Americano

Grande cost him a match last week so they will fight. Grande has new music. 

AJ dropkicks Grande through the ropes before he enters then sends him into the rails. Grande is sent into the post and sent into the rails again. AJ pele kicks Grande then lariats him over the top to the floor. The bell then rings.

AJ plancha's him outside. AJ goes to springboard and another masked guy (Joe called him Dos Americano) grabs AJ. Grande enzugiri's AJ then sends him into the steps with AJ taking a big bump. 

We go to break and return. Grande cobra clutches him. AJ rams him into the buckles to break it up. AJ suplexes him into the buckles. AJ hits shots then lariats Grande. Grande hits back elbows then AJ spinning torture rack bombs him. AJ is flapjacked on the top buckle.

Grande walks up the ropes and does a weird blockbuster for 2. AJ enzugiri's him. Dos gets on the apron then Dragon Lee pulls him down and diving headscissors him. Grande tries to roll AJ into a pin but is rolled into a styles clash AJ then gets the win.

Thoughts: There were a lot of shenanigans and it was a pretty average match here. This seems like this is going to lead to a tag match.  We officially got a name for one of Grande's buddies.

Adam Pearce and Iyo Sky talk. Nikki Bella walks in. Adam thinks Vaquer will be able to fight at Wrestlepalooza. Nikki says Iyo and Vaquer will have a good match for the title. Asuka and Kairi Sane walk in. Asuka tells her to leave then tells her to stay away from Iyo. Nikki says Asuka doesn't have to like her but will respect her. Asuka laughs and offers to beat the respect out of her tonight. Nikki agrees. Sane tells Iyo she's sorry but Asuka tells her to come.

We get a video on AJ Lee.

Raquel Rodriguez vs Lyra Valkyria

RR pushes her down off the lock-up. Lyra slides between her legs and hits leg kicks. RR spinning guillotine drops her. RR throws her in the corner. Lyra goes up and over. Lyra guillotines her and escapes a suplex. Lyra hits shoulderblocks then springboard armdrags her. Lyra dropkicks her through the ropes. 

RR fallaway slams her then bows and arrows her around the post while pulling on Lyra's hair. RR twisting corkscrew elbow drops Lyra's back for 2. We go to break and return.
Lyra sunset flips her form her back and RR pulls back on Lyra's legs while she lays gut first on the mat. Lyra headlocks her and escapes. RR pops her up and is dropkicked. Lyra hits strikes and spinning heel kicks her. 

Lyra tornado ddt's her for 2. RR slingshot jackhammers her for 2. Lyra is placed up top and is hit. Lyra powerbombs her down from the buckles for 2. Roxanne Perez gets on the apron as Lyra goes for nightwing. RR hits Lyra from behind then Lyra dropkicks Perez through the ropes. 

RR blocks a hurricanrana and Lyra bridge pins her for 2. Lyra enzugiri's her. Lyra goes on the buckles and takes a one arm powerbomb. RR wins.

Thoughts: The first half was good but it got sloppy and drifted off in the second half. I was surprised to see RR get the win here. 

Penta talks with The War Raiders in the back. They say they have Penta's back. Adam Pearce talks to Penta after. Penta asks why Adam Pearce doesn't love Penta. Adam says he's impressed with him. Penta asks for a title shot.

Rusev comes in. He says Adam doesn't follow the plan. Rusev says he wants to become champ and says he's wasting his time with Penta. Adam says they should have a match tonight. 

AJ Styles says he's there for Dragon Lee if he needs him. Jimmy Uso walks in and is so much taller than both. Jimmy then runs into Jey Uso. Jey says he's out. Jimmy says they gotta run a play with Reed vs LA Knight tonight. Jey says it's not their problem but Jimmy says The Vision is their problem. Jey says LA tried to get him tonight. He says helping LA Knight won't help them at Wrestlepalooza or help him get the title back. Jimmy says Jey isn't sounding like himself but like Roman. Jey says sounding like himself ain't worth it and leaves.  

AJ Lee comes out with Becky Lynch's Intercontinental Title. She says she's your favorite wrestler's favorite wrestler. She says she retired 10 years ago. She says she felt like she accomplished her dreams and was content. She says she wasn't going to show up in shorts that were 2 sizes 2 small. She says she went on a mental health journey.

She says she wasn't healthy and needed to get right. She says she went to therapy and that gets a big pop and a chant for some reason. She says she turned her mental chaos into a super power. 

She says it's one thing to see her man in the ring with Seth and Cena and it's another to see him in the ring with Becky Lynch. She says she wanted to like Becky. She says there's a world where her and Becky could have been friends but she motorboated her husband. 

Becky Lynch then comes out. She insults the crowd and says AJ is wearing her title. Becky says they are nothing alike and says she's the greatest female wrestler of all time. She gets ripped by the crowd and says she will need therapy after this. She says AJ doesn't deserve to put a finger on her title.

Becky tells her not to put a hand on her title. Becky takes her glasses off and has a black eye. AJ asks if that was her who did that. AJ says since she isn't the greatest of all time, why doesn't she come and get her title? 

Becky tells her to keep her hands off her title. She says she had to bathe in bleach after touching her husband. She asks where's Punk? Becky asks Seth Rollins to come out and he does. Seth asks her to give the title back. She says she will if they agree to a tag match - AJ Lee and CM Punk vs Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. 

Seth says she doesn't make the rules. He says he will come and take the title back. Seth gets in the ring and AJ gets in his face, blocking him. Seth says the title doesn't belong to her. CM Punk then shows up. He grabs Seth and Seth runs. Seth then agrees to a match and says they are both done for at Wrestlepalooza. AJ then throws the title back at them.

Thoughts: I didn't like this. It went a bit long, Becky did her usual over-acting and the therapy chants and man-splaining stuff wasn't for me. 

Bayley does a video. She says she doesn't know what the next step is or what good this has done. She says the last person she wanted to hurt was Lyra. She says she hurt a lot of people in the past but they mostly deserved it. She then says they forgave her. She says she can't forgive herself and doesn't know how Lyra can. She has the voices in her head talking. She says she will make it right.

Penta vs Rusev

Penta hits chops, tries an up and over and is lariated. Rusev hits punches and lariats him. Penta spinning headscissors him. Rusve misses a splash and takes a backcracker for 2. Penta hits kicks and superkicks. Penta is swept on the apron then Rusev throws him into the commentary table. Rusev goes into the steps when Penta moves.

We go to break and return. Penta hits kicks and a slingblade bulldog. Penta does a handstand double pendulum kick in the corner. Grayson Waller and New Day come down. Penta tope con hilos them. Rusev is pulled over the top, Penta tries to tope him and is hit with a shot. Penta hits a canadian destroyer for 2.

Xavier Woods tries to interfere and is kicked. Penta comes off the top and runs into a pumping superkick from Rusev. Rusev gets the pin.

Thoughts: Eh, it was so-so. Penta hit his usual moves and we had some shenanigans. It wasn't anything that good and needed more time develop. 

Jimmy Uso asks LA Knight if that was an accident tonight. LA explains himself. Jimmy tells LA and Jey to put their beef aside as him and LA have beef with The Vision. LA says there is no "we". He says he tried to be team player and got superkicked and said Jey and Jimmy both cost him the title in the past. He says if Jimmy wants to help, don't help as he will do this himself.

Nikki Bella vs Asuka

Bella rolls her up for 2 twice. Asuka sliding kicks her from the mat. Bella gets another 2 count. Bella side headlocks her. They shoulder battle. Bella dropkicks her. Bella boots her out of the corner then is popped up into a knee to the face. Asuka kicks her in the back on the ropes then octopuses her on the ropes. 

Asuka springboards and is forearmed. Bella spinebusters her for 2. Asuka uses Kairi sane as a shield outide then she high kicks her. 

We go to break and return. Bella blocks a kick and forearms her. Asuka germans her. Asuka misses a 2nd rope dropkick. Bella hits running lariats and dropkicks her. Bella hits a corner lariat then 2nd rope twisting enzugiri's her for 2. Asuka sunset flips her 1.

Asuka hits some strikes and buzzsaw kicks her for 2. Asuka high kicks her. Asuka goes for the chicken wing and Bella gets a 2 count on her. Bella alabama slams her for 2.

Asuka spinning high kicks her then spinning heel kicks her. Asuka then chicken wings her and submits her.

Thoughts: Not sure if I understand the play with Bella losing again here. I'd argue Asuka was worse than Bella was in this match as she didn't hit her kicks clean. This wasn't good.

Asuka makes Sane dance with her after. 

The Judgment Day talk in the back. Finn congrats Raquel on winning tonight. Finn says Perez can do the same thing to Lyra next week. Dominik Mysterio walks in. He says he's been preparing for his title match at World's Collide. Finn says he thought he was talking to El Grande Americano. Finn says they are in the dark about it and says no one wants to help unless they expect something in return. Dom says it's a lucha thing and maybe wouldn't need help if they didn't get banned last week.

Nikki Bella is in the back. Asuka and Sane go up to her. Asuka says what happened to her is what Iyo will do for Vaquer. Bella says she's sick of her and asks if she's ready for Round 2. She pushes her then Rhea Ripley walks in. She asks if we have a problem. Asuka says we have 2 problems and points at them. Asuka says something and goes then yells at Sane to come with her.

LA Knight vs Bronson Reed

Bron Breakker is with Reed. LA hits punches on Reed. Reed misses a corner splash and LA hits punches. LA bangs Reed's head off the buckles. LA is sent into the corner then out when he doesn't make it on his own.

Breakker distracts La outside and LA stunners Reed over the top rope. LA slingshots in and is caught. Reed misses a butt drop. LA running lariats Reed. Reed lariats him down.

Reed elbow drops him then clubs on him. Reed hits corner spears. LA hits punches and Reed headbutts him. LA back elbows him then sends Reed out. LA dropkicks him through the ropes. LA sends Reed into the post and steps. 

We go to break and return. LA hits punches on Reed. Reed catches his crossbody and world's strongest slams him for 2. Reed chokes LA on the bottom rope. Bron then does the same. Reed is tripped into the buckles. LA hits punches on Reed then stomps him in the corner. 

LA jawbreakers him then hits punches. Reed throws him out of the ring. Reed charges at him outside and is sent over the rail. LA jumps off the comentary table to a rail and plancha's Reed.

LA hits lariats on Reed. Reed misses a corner charge and blocks a jumping neckbreaker. Reed misses a senton. LA does a double jump elbow drop inside for 2. Reed death valley drivers LA after Bron distracts LA. Reed then pins LA.

Thoughts: It was fine but not much more. Reed winning is an upset but the LA stands for Loses Always. The spot off the commentary table and rail was something different.

The heels beat up LA after. Jimmy Uso comes out and htis superkicks. Reed then spears him. The heels beat up on Jimmy. Jey Uso then comes out. Jey beats up on the heels. Bron spears Jey. LA hits the heels with a chair and they get out. LA asks Jey if they are good. LA helps up Jimmy then Jey spears LA in a surprising moment. 

Thoughts: I didn't get that one especially when Wrestlepalooza is coming up and The Uso's are already booked. LA losing wasn't enough here as he had to get dropped after as well. 

Overall thoughts: It was a pretty average Raw all around. AJ/Grande had a lot of shenanigans but we found out one of Grande's buddies is named Dos Americano. Raquel/Lyra had a good first half and a sloppy second half. The AJ Lee segment was a dud with her getting chants started for "therapy". Penta/Rusev didn't get enough time. Nikki Bella arguably was the better wrestler in her match with Asuka which should tell you how good that was. The main was fine but LA not only lost again but he got dropped by Jey Uso after. I'd give this one a 5 out of 10 and I wouldn't recommend it. The only thing right now that's really doing it for me on this show is Asuka's new protective character.
