Pro Wrestling NOAH 9/8/2025 N-1 Victory 2025 Day 1

Pro Wrestling NOAH 9/8/2025 N-1 Victory 2025 Day 1

It's a pretty disappointing looking N-1 this year. There's no WWE people in it or even reps from other Japanese companies.

Thoughts
: It was an indy style match and they did too much here with various moves not meaning that much. It was fast paced and Endo did a bunch of flying as usual.

Thoughts: It wasn't bad. Gal was the favorite and won here. Haru for a little bit of offense in before being put down. Gal hit a nice lariat here and his top rope moonsault was impressive.

Thoughts
: It was what it looked like it would be - a hard hitting hoss match. I liked it and Masa's new heel character has gotten some different things out of him than before.

Ulka kicks him and htis forearms. Kaz lariats him. Ulka escapes a poweromb and rolls him up for 2. Ulka goes back to the armbar. Kaz powerbombs him out of it. Kaz hits another jack knife powerbombs and wins.

Thoughts: I was fine with this one. They kept it short and it was built around Ulka going for the armbar. Kaz got out of it with a big powerbomb then hit a second to win. It made sense and this was about as good as you are going to get out of Kaz in 2025.

N-1 Victory 2025 Block B Match - Naomichi Marufuji vs. OZAWA

Oz slides out early and Maru holds the rope open for him. Maru goes out after him and Oz goes back in. Oz then holds the rope open for him. The game continues and Maru stomps him. Maru grabs him by the ears and pumping knees him. Maru wipes a booger on Oz.

Oz top rope moonsaults him outside over the rail. Oz holds his ankle and doesn't get up. Maru wins by countout.

Thoughts: Moonsaults and stuff are bad enough but when you do them outside away from the padding it adds onto the danger. Sadly, Oz got injured here and as of the press-time, has missed multiple tournament matches. You really gotta be careful not to get hurt in tournaments. What we got wasn't bad prior to the injury.

Thoughts
: HT winning wasn't a shock. He wasn't coming here to lose. They didn't go too over the top until near the end and it was a lot more restrained than usual. I didn't love it but I would say it was ultimately acceptable and better restrained than HT's usual matches.

Multiple wrestlers come in after and want a shot. HT bumps chests with Odashima. HT thanks them and isn't that impressed. He asks them which one will put the belt around his waist. Eita comes out.  HT says he wants him and Eita agrees.

Kenta side headlocks him. KK bends over and is kicked. KK headscissors and dropkicks him. KK then does a dance in the ring. Kenta is thrown into the rails and KK boots his head around. Kenta hits urakens and KK flying knees him. KK walks up the buckles and spinning shining wizards him for 2. KK hits some kind of backbreaker from the slam position then top rope elbow drops him for the win.

Thoughts
: I liked it and this was honestly about as good as this match could have been. Kenta slapped him around and roughed him up. Kaito eventually made his comeback and got the win. It was hard hitting. Kenta played the heel and Kaito face too. This was really good and impressed me.

Kaito hands Kenta the title after and Kenta wipes Kaito's fingerprints off of it.

Kaito talks on the mic after and thanks the crowd to close the show.

Overall thoughts: I didn't care for the main but I liked or was okay with everything else here. It's a shame Ozawa got injured. The main was the best thing on here and Kenta almost felt like his old self. I somewhat liked YO-HEY vs Hiromu and Fujita/Ulka also bet my expectations. Kenoh/Knight was a little indy but they worked well together and it wasn't too bad. I also liked Masa/Soya as expected. I'd give this a 7 out of 10 and thought it was a pretty good show overall.
