Opera Cup 2025 First Round Match - Ultimo Guerrero vs. Esfinge

UG hits him with his towel to start. UG trips him then is armdragged. They then stand off. UG flips him then trips him and ties his legs up. They get back up. 

They chop each other. Esf superkicks him down then is lariated. Esf superkicks him then topes him outside. Esf kicks him in the leg. They trade corner lariats. Esf corkscrew kicks him. 

Esf hits mounted corner punches. UG sweeps him on the apron and baseball slides him out. UG then top rope dives him outside. UG puts Esf in the front row then he dives over the rail onto him.

UG is kicked while he's up top. UG 2nd rope gordbusters him for 2. Esf monkey flips him twice. Esf springboard splashes him for 2. Esf is caught up top and takes a powerbomb off the 2nd rope for 2. They fight on the buckles and UG is superplexed down for 2. Esf basement dropkicks him for 2. Esf hits wasteland on him. Esf is crotched up top. UG hits a top rope reverse suplex and pins him to win.

Thoughts: I liked it at first then they started kicking out of top rope moves and I was over it. I thought it went a little long for the opener as well.

Opera Cup 2025 First Round Match - Blue Panther Jr. vs. Zandokan Jr.

They lock up. Blue hits forearms then chops him in the corner. Zand pop-up sitout powerbombs him. Zand bangs Blue's head off the buckles. Zand puts his pirate flag on Blue's head. Zand misses a basement dropkick then Blue spinebusters him. Blue hits punches on Zand then basement dropkicks him for 2. 

Zand goes out, grabs a chair and nails Blue in front of the ref. The ref doesn't care. Zand chops him on the ropes. Blue superkicks him then fireman's carry throws him for 2. Blue hits tilt-a-whirl backbreakers. 

Blue spins him and Zand hits a rebound lariat. Blue enzugiri's him from the apron. Zand superplexes him. Zand running double chops him and wins.

Thoughts: This wasn't good. Zand chaired Blue in front of the ref and the ref didn't care. The finish was weak too. Zand is a weaker worker in general and this one didn't deliver. 

MJF of AEW talks to Hammerstone in the back. He says they were on top of wrestling with Dynasty 6 years ago. MJF says he's still on top 6 years later. He says Hammer was the King of the Colisseum but now he's a court jester. He says he's the best big man but he walks around like he's not the guy. MJF says he saw the eyes of hatred in him and it made his heart melt. He says that's the Hammerstone we need and he asks if he will let it out. 

Hammer says he sees the tweets asking when The Dynasty are returning. He says he thinks people thinks this makes him happy. He says The Dynasty is over. He says he watched MJF climb to new heights and says he (Hammer) has fallen to the lowest of lows. Hammer says it makes him ask what if his best days are behind him? 

He says he never loved or hated anything as much as wrestling. He says maybe it's time he stops loving it and maybe it's time he fully hates wrestling and everyone in it. Hammer says his best days are best to come. MJF says he's just beginning. MJF says he's All Elite, Hammer is Major League and they are Dynasty, bro.

MLW Women's World Featherweight Title Match - Shoko Nakajima (c) vs. Yuki Kamifuku

 

SN knocks over fake buildings as she does a kaiju entrance.

Yuki wants a test of strength but SN can't reach that high. SN stomps YK's foot and hammerlocks her. SN evades Yuki around the ropes and sunset flips her. Yuki backrolls out of it. SN ducks a lariat. Yuki grabs SN's tail and eye pokes her. Yuki facekicks her.

Yuki boots SN in the corner and foot chokes her. Yuki corner facekicks her then pulls SN's throat into the top rope. Yuki misses a kick on the ropes. SN flying dropkicks her then flying forearms her. SN flying corner lariats her then 2nd rope springboard headscissors her.

SN dropkicks her. SN misses a 619 and is kicked. Yuki boots her off the 2nd rope for 2. SN corkscrew elbow drops her. Yuki up kicks her and facekicks her. Yuki hits chops and hits a nice dropkick for 2.

SN flying headscissors her. SN topes her outside. Yuki 2nd rope superplexes her. Yuki leg lariats her for 2. SN does a pin attempt for 2 then bridge pin for 2. Yuki headscissors spikes her into the mat. SN spinning bodyscissors her then 619's her. SN 619's her from behind for 2.

Yuki fameassers her for 2. Yuki misses a 2nd rope fameasser. SN hits 2 northern lights suplexes in a row and wins.

Thoughts: The execution here was pretty sloppy at times. It got better in the second half but the first half was rough. This took a while to get going. Yuuki had some creative offense here.

Salina de la Renta and Dario Queto talk in the back. They talk about Dario winning a drinking contest. Don Gato walks in with golden Jaguar knucks. Dario says those ceom from aztec gold and brought Don Gato undefeated luck in lucha. He says everything he touches turns to gold including some tequila. Don goes to drink and Dario drinks with him. Selina shills an upcoming show. 

Ikuro Kwon comes in. He says Dario and crew are wasiting their time. Kwon says it won't change that this title is his. He says he will make Templario disappear tonight. He says he will make him get back to figuring out how he stop him. Dario says let's stay close as it may be a night of danger and violence. 

Texas Death Match - Matthew Justice vs. Alex Hammerstone

MJ hits forearms and boots on Hammer. Hammer back body drops him. Hammer brings a trash can in. MJ bulldogs him on a trash can. MJ lariats him over the top. MJ goes for a tope and is hit in the had with a trash can lid. 

Hammer gorilla press throws him into a table. Hammer lariats him over the rail. MJ throws a chair at him and they trade forearms in the crowd. MJ's head is banged off the bleachers. Hammer is sent into the sides of the bleachers.

MJ grabs a table. Hammer is laid off on it and MJ dives of the top of the stands onto him. Hammer drops MJ on the rails. Hammer punches MJ with a chain several times. MJF is busted open. MJ Tells him to give him more. MJ hits forearms Hammer drops him with a chain shot. 

Hammer grabs a barbed wire door. MJ hits forearms. MJ is explodered into the barbed wire door (leaned against the apron). Hammer beats MJ with a tray. Hammer 2nd rope superplexes him for 2. They trade forearms. MJ chops him then Hammer pump kicks him. Hammer release germans him. Hammer powerbombs him then pumping knees him for 2.  

Hammer brings a table in. Hammer grabs a table inside and MJ topes him. MJ death valley drivers him into a table in the corner for 2. MJ chairs him in the back then in the head. Hammer low blows him then spears him through the bottom end of a table. Hammer chokes him with a table frame then hits a nightmare pendulum on him to win.

Thoughts: It went a little long and got a little boring by the end but it was a good hardcore match. This was not under any kind of texas death match rules. I thought they put out a good effort and did what they were supposed to here. Both guys got blood as well which was good.

MLW World Middleweight Title Match (vacant) - Templario vs. Ikuro Kwon

Temp pulls a sword out of a stone for his entrance. 

Kwon hits a back elbow and a back first. Kwon boots him out of the corner. Kwon up kicks him then is armdragged. Kwon headscissors him. kwon misses a sweep and they stand off.

Temp kicks him then double jump springboard dropkicks him. Temp topes him outside. Temp topes hm outside. Temp stomps him. Temp rope walks and misses a double stomp. Kwon then drops him with a palm strike. Kwon hits mounted shots. 

Kwon hits chest kicks. Kwon kicks him in the back for 2. Kwon hits chest kicks then hits oblivion for 2. Temp superkicks him and is superkicked back. Temp pumping knees him. Temp plashes the ref when Kwon pulls him in the corner.

Temp does a german into a uranage. Temp high kicks him and Kwon goes out. Contra Unit guards come in and stomp on Temp. Don Gato then comes in and clears them off. 

Temp pumping knees Kwon then powerbomb backbreakers him for the win.

Thoughts: It was shorter and a bit rushed. This wasn't anything too special. It felt like it ended before they could really get anything going.

Temp celebrates with Don Gato after. 

Dijak and St. Laurent do a promo before the match tonight. Laurent says Dijak is the champ. Dijak says he has one belt and will have two after tonight. He say there's nothing Riddle or the scumbags in Dallas can do about it. 

MLW World Heavyweight Title Three Way Match - Matt Riddle (c) vs. Donovan Dijak

The match is about to start and Mads Krule Krugger comes out. He has the gravity gamble briefcase that guarantees him a title match whenever he wants it. Dijak goes up to him and is hit with the briefcase. Krule cashes in.

MLW World Heavyweight Title Three Way Match - Matt Riddle (c) vs. Donovan Dijak vs Mads Krule Krugger

Matt single leg codebreakers Krule. Krule hits Dijak outside. Matt 2nd rope corkscrew moonsalts both outside. Matt hits kicks on both opponents. Matt PK's and sentons Dijak for 2. Dijak forearms him then is triangle'd over the top rope. 

Dijak is sent into the rails by Krule. Krule takes a corner forearm from Matt. Dijak facekicks Krule. Dijak suplexes Matt onto Krule for 2. Matt triangles Dijak then Krule helps throw Matt down. Krule germans Dijak.

Krule sends Dijak into Matt with a spear. Krule flips Matt with a chokeslam onto Dijak. Dijak rolls up Krule for 2. Matt flying pumping knees Krule. Dijak superkicks Krule. Matt jumps off Krule's back to pumping knee Dijak. Krule lariats Matt. 

Krule and Dijak fight on the buckles. Dijak is crotched up top. Krule 2nd rope fallaway slams Dijak. Matt corkscrew moonsaults Krule off the top for 2. Matt hits chest kicks on Krule and hits running forearms. We get a very weird double chokeslam spot with Dijak chokeslamming Krule while Krule chokeslams Matt. We get a tower of doom spot but Dijak lands on his feet.

Dijak and Krule trade shots. Matt double cutters them both. Matt chest kicks Dijak. Matt strike flurries him. St. Laurent grabs Matt and Dijak low blows Matt. Dijak hits a GTH but Krule pulls Dijak out.

Dijak hits Krule with a title belt. Dijak top rope moonsaults and Matt catches him with a cutter off of it. Matt cradle cradle tombtones Dijak. Krule half nelson drops Matt onto Dijak and pins Matt to win.

Thoughts: It had the usual limitations 3-ways have but it was a pretty good effort. They had some creative spots here with the top rope moonsault getting caught with a cutter and a double chokeslam spot. Dijak really put a lot of work in on this and Matt did his usual stuff. I enjoyed this and it was a lot more entertaining than I thought it would be. It was a good main.

Dijak hits Krule with the briefcase after and they fight. Dijak is thrown into the seats. Dijak is thrown into more seats. Dijak hits non-wrestlers. Dijak superkicks him out of the door to the arena. Dijak clubs on him there and Krule chokes him aainst the wall. Hammerstone then comes out and chairs Krule. 

Overall thoughts: They had a lot of names on the card and did a pretty good job with it overall. The semi-main was a bit rushed and kind of a waste. I liked the texas death match (though it was just a normal hardcore match) and I liked the main event the most on here. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 overall.
