WWE Main Event 10/2/2024
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/10/wwe-main-event-9252024.html
Brooks Jensen vs Eddy Thorpe
They lock up and BJ piefaces him in the corner. Eddy wristlocks him. Eddye kips up to get out of it and side headlock takeovers him. Eddy does it again.
They forearm each other and Eddy crossbodies him. Eddy running knees him then hits kicks to the body. Eddy backdrops him. Eddy is pulled into the ropes throat first. BJ stomps him then hits mounted forearms. BJ spinning heel kicks him for 2.
BJ side headlocks him. They trade shots. Eddy knocks him over twice and german suplexes him. Eddy hits an elbow drop then implant ddt's him. Eddy then gets the win.
Thoughts: If you like side headlocks, this is the one for you. There were 0 exciting parts to this one and it was somehow even more boring than I expected. This was a total nothing match that didn't even sound like a good idea.
Gallus (Wolfgang and Mark Coffey) vs Alpha Academy (Otis and Akira Tozawa)
Otis and Wolf start us off. Wolf boots and clubs in. Mark is tagged in and hits Otis. Otis no sells it and dances. Otis hits a big slam. Akira spears Mark in the corner. Akira 2nd rope headscissors and dropkicks Mark. Akira flips out of a backdrop then is tripped by Joe Coffey. Wolf lariats Akira then Wolf sends Otis into the post shoulder first.
We go to break and return. Mark 2nd rope shoulderblocks Akira. They trade forearms. Wolf throws Otis back for 2. Akira hits shots on Wolf. Wolf knees him in the gut. Akira does a double ddt when he is popped up by both.
Otis is tagged in. He lariats Mark over then spinning back elbows him. Otis lariats Wolf from behind. Otis rolling sentons Wolf's back. Joe distracts Otis and Maxxine pulls him down. Akira topes Joe into the commentary table. Otis does the caterpillar elbow on Mark and wins.
Thoughts: It was a short one here. They did what they could with it and it was fine for what it was but nothing too memorable.
Overall thoughts: There were only 2 new matches as usual. Jensen vs Thorpe was about as bland as it gets. The tag match didn't have enough time to be good. I wouldn't recommend this one.
