UWA Underground Wrestling League 4/10/2024 Episode 17

From: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEvFFL-u_5g

This is a backyard fed definitely taped in someone's garage, but hey, I'd have a wrestling arena in my garage too if I could.

Chase Sullivan said he should do an open challenge for the fans. He says it's open to everyone and come get it in you want to make his reign short.

UWA Southern Heavyweight Title Open Challenge - Chase Sullivan (c) vs Fantasma Volador

Chase is a big country dude and FV is a smaller masked guy. The ring announcer isn't fine and the commentator Dan Birmingham is actually good. The ring announcer doubles as the ref here.

Chase shoves him back twice and calls FV a joke. Chase shoulders him over then FV hits some strikes. Chase tries a big boot but it mostly misses. Chase does running corner moves and FV hits punches and boots on Chase. FV foot chokes him on the bottom buckle then stands on him.

FV chinlocks him then hits flying forearms. FV does a slingblade then 2nd rope splashes him for 2. FV does a sharpshooter variation and Chase ropebreaks. FV superkicks him for 2 then hits a hidden blade for 2.

Chase hits a snake eyes then does another big boot that mostly misses for 2. Chase leglocks him then does an anaconda vice. Chase sliding lariats him the kneels on him in the corner. FV is rolled into the buckles then Chasearmbars him. Chase ddt's him for 2.

FV flying knees him then Chase pulls FV into the buckles. They both go down but beat the count. Chase his a low headlock driver and wins

This wasn't a bad effort. They sold and they were pretty safe with each other here. This went about 13 minutes. Volador moves well and really does seem decent enough to be on an indy somewhere. Chase needs to put a little more force into his moves, but I give him credit for working safe here. They had some big man vs smaller man logic here.

Overall thoughts: There was only one match here but I was blown away by the production on this one. This is someone's backyard fed and they had a better looking show than a lot of companies do. The commentary was good. The arena looked pretty cool. They had graphics, an intro video and they even had some slow motion highlight shots. I hope the people behind this keep this up because I like what they are doing here and I think there's some promotions that could use their expertise. I think this one is worth a look just to see normal people actually putting on a good wrestling production.
