WWE NXT Level Up 3/29/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/03/wwe-nxt-level-up-3222024.html

Meta-Four (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) vs Carlee Bright and Kendal Grey

This is the WWE TV debut of Kendal Grey. They say Grey is an amateur wrestling standout. Byron said she was a 3x national champ and was 61-0.

Lash and CB lock up. CB is thrown. CB side headlocks Lash then Lash shoulders her over. JJ hits punches on CB as Lash holds her. Lash shoulders CB over then CB hiptosses JJ. Grey double axe handles JJ's arm as does CB.

Grey leapfrogs over CB onto JJ's arm. Grey hits a nice fireman's carry and a belly to belly suplex. Grey backs rolls her and takes a pump kick from Lash. Lash corner spears Grey then bangs her head off the mat. Lash elbow drops Grey's back.

Grey takes corner moves and JJ knees her in the gut. Grey rolls JJ up then Lash bearhugs Grey. Lash throws Grey into the corner. Grey 2nd rope crossbodies her but is caught with a swinging backbreaker. Lash spears the post when Grey moves.

CB is tagged in and hits back elbows on JJ. CB spinning headscissors her then CB does a handstand double kick in the corner on JJ. CB standing moonsaults JJ then JJ cradles her. CB hits a nice dropkick on JJ. Grey gets on CB's shoulders and is dropped down onto JJ.

CB runs the ropes and gets her neck caught in it. Lash hits a big forearm on her then JJ hits a headbuster on Grey. Lash holds up Grey then JJ neckbreakers her. Lash picks up the win on Grey.

This was a decent match here. Grey had a good debut and she can move pretty well. CB showed some new stuff here and looks like she has some potential. Lash has also finally turned into an acceptable in-ring worker after 2 years. This stuff is what NXT Level Up is all about - people growing and showing potential.

Hank Walker and Tank Ledger are interviewed. They put over Dupont and Igwe, saying they are nice guys. They say they are all about business in the ring though. Dupont and Igwe then walk in. They shake hands. Hank and Tank tell them to bring it. Igwe asks Tank to put his mama's meatloaf recipe on the line. Tank tells them they want their butters, which apparently are their boots.

Je'Von Evans vs Scrypts

All of OTM is out there with Scrypts. Scrpts does a jumping kip down under Evans then Evans sunset flips over Scrypts. Scrypts does a leg takedown and they stand off. Scrypts back elbows him. Evans chops him then does a seated springboard into a hurricanrana. Evans hits a high leg lariat.

Scrypts hits mounted shots on Evans. He does like a spinning body block on him in the corner then does a great top rope moonsault. Scrypts chinlocks him then its a chop. Evans hits forearms then does a corkscrew kick on him off the ropes. Evans springboard crossbodies him and misses a double jump tornillo. Evans then ends up cradling him for the win.

It was a high flying match as expected here. Evans can really fly and really isn't that much different from Scrypts. Evans looked good here. It'd be nice to see this again only with more time and on a bigger stage.

Best of 3 Series - Match 3 - Hank Walker and Tank Ledger vs Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe

Igwe brushes his shoes with a toothbrush during his entrance.

Tank corner lariats Igwe. Igwe side headlocks him and dropkicks Tank. Igwe gutwrench suplexes Hank. Hank takes a boot to the face then a big jumping splash from Dupont. Dupont running euros Tank.

Tank is double yanked into a double chokeslam. Hank takes a double spinebuster. Tank fallaway slams Igwe then Hank top rope lariats Igwe. Hank corner lariats Igwe then drops him on his chest on a slam. Hank running facekicks him for 2.

Hank corner splashes Igwe then Igwe takes a sandwich double bodyblock. Tank chinlocks Igwe. Igwe hits a big back body drop on Tank. Dupont gets in and hits some nice shoulderblocks, a dropkick, a splash and a flying euro on Tank in quick fashion. Dupont discus punches Tank for 2.

Tank double boots him in the corner then splashes him. Igwe is popped up into a Tank german for 2. Dupont spinebusters Hank then Hank takes a double team backdrop. Tank is supposed to break the pin up but is late. Tank and Dupont double lariat each other outside then Hank rolls up Igwe for 2. Hank and Igwe punch each other at the same time and Hank falls on Igwe to win it.

It was a good heavyweight match just like the last two battles between these guys were. These guys are only 1-2 years in and are better at the hoss style of wrestling than people like Brian Cage are. It was fast paced and everyone looked so good here. Really good stuff.

Overall thoughts: A good show here.  All 3 matches were acceptable and the main was some good hoss wrestling. Kendall Grey had a good debut and moves pretty well. Carlee Bright showed off a new move or two here and also looks like she has potential. Lash is also finally getting it together in-ring after a rough rookie year. Evans vs Scrypts was basically a doppleganger battle as the two are real similar and Evans looked good. The main is definitely worth a look if you get a chance.
