WOW Women of Wrestling 9/2/2023 Episode #51

This is the youtube version of the this show. For whatever reason, WOW's youtube version of the show is often missing stuff from the TV version of it. They don't tell you what is missing either.

Tonight it's Princess Aussie vs Penelope Pink for the WOW World Title.

Tormenta vs Chantilly Chella

They lock up and Tor side headlocks her. Chella takes her down with an armlock then Tor does a bow and arrow type of move on her. Chella flips her over then is tripped and bulldog headlocked.

Chella armdrags her then uses the ropes to headscissor her down. Chella low dropkicks her then Chella is tripped into the ropes. Tor abuses Chella on the ropes then meteoras her on the bottom rope. Tor hits lariats on Chella then double knee drops her for 2.

Tor goes up and over in the corner then shotgun dropkicks her. Tor pulls back on Chella's arms then Chella hits leg kicks. Chella high kicks her then flying knees her in the corner. Chella top rope dropkicks her for 2.

Chella legsweeps her and hits a meteora for 2. Chella hits another meteora but Tor back rolls into a boston crab on her. Tor does a reverse samoan drop for 2. Tor comes off the top, Chella is supposed to move out of the way but doesn't fully do it. Chella then spinning high kicks her in the back of the neck and wins it.

The finish was somewhat botched here but the botch was maybe explainable and igonorable. These two matched up really well together otherwise and had a decent match for WOW standards. Chella really looked good as a face here. 

The Brat Pack (Gigi Gianni, BK Rhythm and Robbie Rocket) vs Team Spirit (Randi Rah Rah, Coach Campanelli and Ariel Sky)

Randi only comes out here. She's asked where her partners are and she doesn't know. She said she hasn't seen them. Dave McClane asks if Randi will do a singles match and she agrees. Dave tells The Brat Pack to pick a wrestler. 

Randi Rah Rah vs Gigi Gianni

BK Rhythm does a rap, saying her friend didn't show up because they think Randi's lame. She said Gigi's got it.

Gigi wristlocks Randi. Randi cartwheels through it then Gigi rolls her up. Randi slides out of a move, BK talks trash to her and Gigi face kicks Randi. Gigi hits boots and spears in the corner. Gigi then stands on the 2nd rope alone and facebusters her into the mat.

Gigi's crew poses while Randi is choked on the 2nd rope then Randi is choked over the 2nd rope. Gigi swinging side slams her and gets the win.

It was a short one here with Gigi dominating. It's hard to say much more since there's likely going to be follow up on this but I don't know when or what it will be. 

Las Bandidas (Vivian Rivera and Sylvia Sanchez) vs The Mother Truckers (Big Rig Betty and Holly Swagg)

Sofia Lopez is out with Las Bandidas and policemen also come out with Las Bandidas.

Betty lays down and lets Viv try to pin her (Sofia has a contract  that says they will go to jail if they don't lay down). Holly breaks it up and spinning headscissors Viv out. The 3 of them go out and Sanchez hits the faces from behind. Sofia puts the contract in the face of Betty.

They get back in and Sanchez pulls Betty down by the hair. Viv sliding lariats Betty then corner splashes her. Viv back elbows Betty then pulls her off the ropes. Betty is put in a hammerlock then Viv bridges while putting the hold on.

Holly gets in to break it up and Sanchez sends Holly out. Sanchez hits corner spears on Betty then Sanchez facewash kicks Betty. Viv hits shots on Betty then Betty headbutts her. Holly is tagged in and flurries on Sanchez. Holly superkicks her then trips Viv into the ropes. Holly double knees Viv on the ropes then meteora's her in the back of the neck.

Sofia Lopez gets on the apron and Holly throws Sanchez down. Holly superkicks her then spits Viv into a lariat. Holly gets the win on Viv.

I didn't think they got the most out of the hot tag that they could have here and Sanchez blew something near the finish, causing Holly to get visibly frustrated. The two teams were working well otherwise though.

Sofia Lopez calls the policemen in after. The Truckers tear the contract up the the police arrest The Truckers. The Truckers are then taken away. Holly tells Dave she's been in jail many times before and isn't afraid of it. She said she doesn't lay down for anyone.

WOW Title - Penelope Pink (c) vs Princess Aussie

Pink charges her and they trade shots. Pink boots her then is sunset flipped. Aussie kicks her in the gut then snapmares her. Aussie rolls her up for 2 then single leg dropkicks her. Aussie corner splashes her then hits a back elbow in the corner.

Aussie goes up in the corner, gets caught and dropped down. Pink sliding germans Aussie while she's on the 2nd rope. Pink bangs Aussie's head off the apron outside then puts her on her shoulders and drops her face on the apron. Pink puts Aussie's face in the camera and says to look at her.

Aussie throws Pink into the post then germans her on the floor. Aussie misses a superkick inside and takes a knee to the face for 2. Pink butt drops Aussie's leg then Pink is pushed into the post. Aussie's leg is banged off the post outside then Pink pulls on it there.

Aussie's mouth is busted open and her leg is banged off the post. Pink rolls up Aussie while having her feet on the ropes and gets a 2 count. Pink sliding knees her.

Aussie is laid on top of the top rope. Aussie bulldogs her off the 2nd rope in a spectacular bump. Lana Star grabs the title belt outside and Aussie gets a 2 count. Aussie hits lariats on Pink, then superkicks her for 2. Aussie goes up and over her in the corner, hitting a backcracker for 2. Pink puts her on the 2nd rope and hits a bridging bladerunner.

Aussie rolls up Pink off a running knee then cutters her. Pink then rolls out. Lana Star gets on the apron and distracts the ref. Pink grabs the title belt and hits Aussie with it. Pink then gets the win.

It sucked to see a dirty finish here but it was a good match. WOW doesn't do a ton in their regular matches, so when you get a main event like this with a title on the line and with time, it really stands out. WOW really gets these right. I liked this one. Aussie's 2nd rope bulldog was nice and they busted out bigger stuff for this. I was absolutely sure Aussie was winning here and was bummed to see her lose. Good match.

Pink and Lana pose after then The Beast comes in. The Beast spears both as Dave yells "The Beast is back!". Beast hits a big sitout powerbomb on Pink then holds up the title to close the show. This was a good angle and it was done well.

Overall thoughts: A fun show as usual for WOW. The main was a typical good WOW big match main event and Tormenta and Chella worked well together. Beast's return was also well done here.
