The Southern Six (Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor) vs Knox and Murdoch
Murdoch backs up Kerry to start. Kerry hits boots and punches on Murdoch then leapfrogs him. Murdoch hits a stiff back elbow. Kerry goes for a cheapshot on Konx, gets hit back then takes a sky high from Murdoch. Knox lifts up Murdoch for a legdrop on Kerry.
Knox throws Kerry across the ring then face kicks Alex Taylor. Knox hits a nice punch on Alex. Alex goes up and over in the corner then runs into a big boot. Knox hits a nicep unch on Alex then Alex takes a double chop from his opponents. Murdoch bangs Alex's head off the buckles.
Ricky Morton, who is with The Six, trips Murdoch from the outside. Alex low blows and dropkicks Murdoch. Alex then stomps him in the corner. Murdoch is tripped into a Kerry elbow drop. Kerry chokes Murdoch then Murdoch takes a double suplex. Alex corner splashes Murdoch then gets caught and spinebustered.
Kerry gets slammed by Knox then Knox corner splashes both opponents. Knox drops Alex onto Kerry then Alex is flipped with a high/low. Knox goes for the pin but Ricky Morton pulls the ref out. Murdoch hits Ricky then Alex is lariated over the top. The ref then calls for the bell, throwing the match out.
The fight continues after. Security comes to break it up and gets beat up during the process.
I thought the ref being pulled out on the pin should have been an automatic DQ. The faces not getting the win for that and being punished with the match being thrown out for getting mad about it was bogus. I liked the match otherwise. Knox had some real nice punches and the heels did a good job against their much bigger opponents.
The Immortals are interviewed about The Slimeballz. Kratos asks who? Kratos said not to disrespect them or the viewers. Kratos said it doesn't matter who is across from them in the ring. He said he hopes The Slimeballz brought paramedics and a first aid kit. He said they are entering the belly of the beast. He said there's a big difference between playing wrestler and being a wrestler. Odinson says to witness The Immortals then sprays white stuff in his face.
I will not be covering the intergender match.
NWA United States Tag Titles - The Immortals (Odinson and Kratos) (c) The Slimeballz (Sage Chantz and Tommy Rant)
Sage and Odin start us off. Sage says to tag in the big man and tells Odin to get out of his ring. Odin is amused by this and tags in Kratos. Kratos back elbows Sage then throws him on a suplex. Sage screams for help when he is about to be suplexed. Kratos suplex throws him again.
Sage is laid on the top buckle and chopped. Kratos 2nd rope superplexes him. Odin hits euros on Sage then does a super high exploder. Sage goes for a sunset flip off of one then Odin hits a super impressive crackerjack. Rant hits shots on Odin. Odin pushes Rant into Sage then pounces Rant.
Kratos powerslams Sage. Odin climbs the counter on the rails then Sage takes a euro to the back + a drop and is pinned.
This was a fun squash. The Slimeballz asked for trouble and got it. Odin hit some of the best suplexes ever here and his crackerjack was awesome. This really couldn't have been done much better and I really liked this.
Burchill is interviewed. He is asked what motivates him. He said he walked away from wrestling for 13 years and said he wants to have a purpose. He said his purpose is his 4 kids. He said his kids can't look at his career and think he fulfilled his potential. He said he's not here to make friends, he's here to fight. He said Silas Mason is on an upwards trajectory. He said he doesn't know if he's been in the ring with someone like him though. He tells Silas to grit his teeth.
NWA National Heavyweight Title - Silas Mason (c) vs Burchill
They lock up and Silas piefaces him.Silas spinning slams him and Burch hits some shots. Burch kicks him while he's down then knee drops him. Silas boots him out of the corner then throws him over the top to the floor.
Silas suplexes him in and hits chops. Silas headbutts him then backdrops him. Silas hits a big lariat then bites him. Burch's fingers are put in the turnbuckle connector then Burch sunset flips him. Silas hits a nice lariat then does a rough looking powerslam. Burch hits forearms then gets flapjacked. Silas powerbombs him for 2.'
Burch backdrops him then hits a running knee for 2. Burch runs at him and takes a black hole slam. Silas then wins it.
Burchill had a single run in WWECW many years ago. He wasn't bad at anything, just bland and average. That's what he was here. He didn't do anything wrong but none of it stood out or got you excited for him. On the other hand, everything Silas did looked great and he really impressed me here. His finisher looked good and he had multiple nice lariats. It was an okay main but Burchill didn't contribute much.
Overall thoughts: The opener had a bogus finish with the heels cheating and getting the match tossed out instead of getting DQ'd. The work in it was good though with Knox looking great. The US Title match could not have been done any better and everyone came off looking good. Silas was good in the main here but Burchill was just average. What I saw was good overall, though I did skip the intergender match which I guarantee I would have hated.
