WWE NXT Level Up 2/23/2024

WWE NXT Level Up 2/23/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/02/wwe-nxt-level-up-2162024.html

Karmen Petrovic vs Brinley Reece

Brin gets out of a full nelson then jumps over a legsweep. They stand off and Brin wristlocks her. KP legsweeps her  then Brin kips up and poses. KP trips her then Brin snapmares her. KP holds on and snapmares her, then then repeat this twice.

KP side headlocks her then back kicks her. Brin does a nice backdrop then hits a corner spear. KP rolls on her on a pin attempt then Brin does a forward cartwheel into a lariat on her. Brin pulls KP's arms backwards. Brin puts KP in la swastika then KP kicks her way out. KP forearms her then spinning lariats her.

KP running kicks her in the corner then pulls her over by it. KP screw kicks her in the back then does a jack knife pin attempt. They trade pin attempts and KP pins her.

This was good and the best match of both girls careers so far. These two moved well and really matched up together with fast action. KP's offense also flowed a lot better here than it had in prior matches.

They hug after.

Hank and Tank, Igwe and Dupont play dominoes. Dupont wins and Tank says they are getting rattled. they agree to a cornhole game. Dupon said they beat them a few weeks ago and asks if they make a best out of 3 series out of this. Tank says they are up a match on them if that's the case and Igwe said they are up for the challenge. Tank then asks for another dominoes game. We haven't seen a backstage skit ever on this show, so this was welcomed.

Best of 3 Series - Match 2 - Hank Walker and Tank Ledger vs Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe

As you could see above, this best of 3 series was created after the first match happened in an unusual situation. Hank and Tank won the first match.

Dupont shoulders over Hank. Hank leapfrogs him and hits a nice flying shoulder. Tank shoulders Dupont then Dupont hits a nice corner splash. Igwe gutwrench slams Tank then Hank takes a forearms, a boot and a big splash. Tank goes up and over in the corner then splashes Igwe. Tank spears Igwe then Hank drops Igwe on his chest.

Hank kind of misses an elbow drop on Igwe. Tank armlocks Igwe then flying back elbows him. Hank back body drops Igwe  then headlocks him. Igwe takes a double sandwich bodyblock. Igwe and Tank hold onto each other and hit some punches. They then hit each other at the same time and go down.

Dupont is tagged in and shoulders over his opponents. He hits a nice dropkick then a stiff running euro. Dupont kips up then spinning forearms Hank. Tank 2nd rope twisting shoulders Dupont then Hank top rope lariats Dupont for 2. Igwe and Tank roll out. Hank and Dupont trade punches. Dupont spinebusters him then Hank takes a double team backdrop. Igwe pins Hank.

Just like last time, it was a good tag. Dupont had a breakout performance here looking like he had real potential. He just has a ton of energy in his moves and his stuff looks extra painful due to his size. He had a nice hot tag here. This was fun heavyweight wrestling and Match 3 should be a fun one.

Overall thoughts: Only 2 matches here which is a shame. They have a lot of talent who needs time to wrestle and the matches are generally fun, so it's disappointing when we don't get to see 3 matches. This was a good show though. Brin/Karmen had the best match of their careers and the two really matched up well. Tyson Dupont shined in the main event in what was a good heavyweight tag match. This is about as good as you are going to get from Level Up. Not must see, but it was only 20 minutes and I liked it.
