WWE Monday Night Raw 2/12/2024

We see video of Cody arriving earlier.

The New Day and Jey Uso vs Imperium

Kofi and Kaiser start us off. They trade shots and Kaiser elbows him in the back of the neck. Kaiser hits a running knee then Kofi dropkicks him. Kofi lariats him, PK's him then Woods sliding lariats him. Kofi splashes him and Woods elbow drops him.

The faces stomp Kaiser and Jey hip attacks him. Jey stares down Gunther, and Gunther teases getting in, but Vinci nails Jey from behind. Vinci does Jey's taunt and Gunther chops Jey. Jey uppercuts and euros Kaiser then is lariated over the top. Gunther face kicks Jey on the floor.

We go to break and return. Jey back drops Kaiser. Woods and Vinci gets in. Vinci takes a top rope crossbody, a fameasser, a ddt off the bottom rope and a frogsplash on his back. Woods pulls Kaiser down off the ropes and hits forearms. Kaiser bangs his head off the apron. Kofi does a jumping lariat on Vinci then boom legdrops him. Kaiser grabs Kofi's leg then Vinci throws Kofi outs.

Kofi is thrown into the steps then Vinci running boots Kofi. Gunther beats up on Kofi then elbows him in the face. Gunther euros Kofi then chops him down. Gunther crabs Kofi and Jey slaps Gunther while he does it. They shove each other and we go to break. We return and Kaiser stops a Kofi tag. Kofi back body drops him and Jey is tagged in.

Jey hits shots on Vinci then samoan drops him and Kaiser. Jey hits hip attacks then superkicks Kaiser and superkicks Vinci, who is jumping off the top. Jey hits punches on Gunther then Gunther chops him. Jey spinning enzugiri's Gunther then top rope crossbodies him. Gunther blocks Jey's spear and chops him. Gunther hits a short arm clothesline for 2.

Gunther mocks Jey's taunt and catches knees when he goes for a top rope splash. Jey spears Gunther for 2. Kofi dives on Kaiser and sends him into the post. Vinci and Jey trade kicks then Vinci takes a 3 person 3D. Kofi dives on Kaiser while Jey top rope splashes Vinci for the win.

It was a fun tag as expected that got plenty of time. The faces did a good job of showing their hatred for Imperium here. They also definitely built up a Jey/Gunther match here.

We see clip of the Wrestlemania Press Conference.

We get an Andrade taped video. He says he loves this business and said he had his first match at 13. He talks about being champ in NXT and being the US champ. He said the titles were not enough and he needed to leave. He aid he's back now. It was your usual Andrade promo where you could only understand about half of it.

Elimination Chamber Qualifier - Bobby Lashley vs Bronson Reed

Reed pushes Bobby into the corner then headbutts and splashes him. Bobby goes for the hurt lock and lariats him. Bobby lariats him over then is sent shoulder first into the post. Reed dives off the apron with a shoulder and sends him over the rail.

We go to break and return. Reed hits corner lariats then short arm lariats him. Bobby flatliners him then suplexes him for 2. Bobby hits corner spears then is superkicked. Reed death valley drivers him for 2. Reed splashes him on the ropes then Bobby spinebusters him for 2.

Reed blocks a spear with a knee, then uranage's and senton's him. Reed goes up top and is thrown down then Bobby spears him for the win.

It was short but a fun heavyweight match with two big dudes going at it. Lots of heavy ammunition being exchanged here and you left this one wanting more. 

Sami Zayn is interviewed earlier in the day in the stands. He said he felt embarrassment not making it to the chamber and said he needs to believe in himself as nobody else will. He promises he will become champ. Shinsuke Nakamura gets on the wrong. He asks him what it is wrong with him. He said he had the glory and the moments but acts like he's in misery. He said he wants the fan's sympathy just like Cody. He said he wants to see his true self in the ring tonight. He said if he doesn't let his real emotions out, he won't tolerate it. 

Cody Rhodes comes out to talk. He said the fans made their voices heard. He said he doesn't want to get emotional as then he would be a crybaby. He said the fans wanted Cody but said The Rock didn't want to hear it. We then see clips of Rock ripping Cody's fans. Rock said Cody's fans shove chicken nuggets up their butts and Cody asks Pat McAfee what they are supposed to do with them.

Cody said he didn't say anything to defile Rock's ancestors yet Rock slapped him. He said Rock slapped him and he said he will hit him back. Seth Rollins comes out. Cody thanks him for coming to his aid at the press conference. Seth says he's welcome. Seth said he understands Cody's decision and said he has to finish that story, right? Seth said Cody needs to finish his story for everyone. He said the landscape is very dark if Cody doesn't.

Seth calls Roman the most powerful champion of the modern era. He said the power allows him to show up less and defend the title less. Seth says this is the last real chance to take that title and power and give it to the people. Seth said he loves Cody and said he fought his way back after losing at Mania last year. Seth said the deck is stacked against Cody again but the bar has been raised. He said Cody is dealing with The Bloodline and now The Rock.

Seth tells Cody he doesn't have to fight this battle alone. Seth said Cody told Roman he wanted to take everything from him and Seth said he felt that. He said he's sick of people like Rock and Roman thinking they can do whatever they want. He said Roman is partly his fault but could have never imagined the monster he has become. He said the monster now has two heads with Rock. Seth said there's one person on earth who is suited to be his shield and said it's him.

It was a good promo though Seth did self bury himself by putting Roman over as the bigger star and the more important champ. I think it could be leading to Roman/Rock vs Cody/Seth, but we will have to see.

The New Day and Jey Uso are interviewed. Jey is told Gunther is going to face him in an IC title match and he's excited. The New Day said he slapped the heck out of him and they walk off all excited.

Zoey Stark and Liv Morgan talk about Elimination Chamber. Liv said she was on the run of a lifetime until Rhea took her out. She said this is the first stop on the Liv Morgan Revenge Tour. Stark said she's been busy making history on Raw and will continue to do so. She said she took out Becky and Trish and will take out Liv now. She said this is about her making history as the baddest woman in the division. She said she will make her stance and go to Wrestlemania.

Elimination Chamber Qualifier - Liv Morgan vs Zoey Stark

Liv rolls up Zoey then hits forearms. Liv boots her in the corner then Zoey lariats her. Zoey hits mounted punches then Liv pop-up hurricanrana's her. Zoey's head is banged off the buckles then Liv springboard enzugiri's her on the apron. Liv goes to idve and is hit.

Zoey goes to springboard but is knocked to the floor. Liv takes a death valley driver on the apron and we go to break. We return and Liv step up knees her. Liv 2nd rope codebreakers her then is powerbombed out of the corner. Zoey springboard dropkicks her for 2.

Zoey charges the corner and Liv goes over her with a roll-up. Liv is catapulted into the buckles then presses her down with her feet. Liv is superkicked then Zoey misses a phoenix splash. Liv hits a codebreaker and hits a seated flatliner on the 2nd rope to win it.

It wasn't bad at all for the girls though not great or anything. No botches here and both looked good. Liv won as expected in her return.

The Judgment Day are in the back and Truth walks up to them. Truth argues with JD. Priest says this is enough. He said he has never been part of Judgment Day and said every beating he got was just a beating. Priest says it's an execution tonight and asks if he can get it through his skull. Truth makes a sad face and seems to get that he's not in Judgment Day.

R-Truth talks on the phone in the back and tells Adam Pearce to hold on. He asks how long it takes to fly to LA to here. He calls Miz and says he needs his help. He tells him to hop on the plane and fly to Raw right now because they are going to kill him. Pearce tells him his match is now.

R-Truth vs JD McDonaugh

 

Truth gives the ref his cell phone and tells Pat to let him know if Miz calls. JD takes punches in the corner then has his head banged off the buckles. JD takes a big bump for the buckle shot then is hiptossed. Truth corner splashes him then back body drops him. Truth hits an attitude adjustment and JD rolls out.

We go to break and return. They trade shots and we are told Dom stole Truth's phone. Truth flying shoulders JD  then blue thunders him. Truth leg lariats him and hits the five knuckle shuffle. JD rolls him up with the tights for 2. Truth does a flying corkscrew forearm. JD yanks him into a backdrop (called the devil inside) and wins it.

It was short and I feel like we missed a lot of this during the break. Nothing wrong with it but they could have done more with it.

The Judgment Day hug after. Truth fights off Judgment Day 3v1 and throws Finn out. Truth goes face to face with Priest and is dropped with a punch. Truth takes a 4v1 then DIY come out to save him with chairs.  

Sami Zayn talks to Cody in the back. Cody thanks him for helping last week. Cody said he would help him too. Cody said he believes in Sami and the fans do as well. They hug.

Becky Lynch comes out to talk. Someone has a sign asking her to the prom in 2034 and she says, "I guess I'm going to the prom in 2034". She said she loves how wild The Road to Wrestlemania is. She talks about all wrestling has done for her. She said she has to explain her injuries to her daughter. She said she will also see the brutality her mother is capable of.

She said she is obsessed with getting her title back and says it starts with Elimination Chamber. She said the crowd thinks nobody can beat Rhea, but she says she's just not anyone. She asks for a drink and makes a toast to Rhea Ripley. She tells her to enjoy her last few weeks as champ.

Nia Jax comes out. She said she has something to say to her. She said she has respect for her and said if her mom was half the mother she is, she'd be lucky She said she wants to be a mother and set examples like she does. She said Becky will win the match at Elimination Chamber. She said nothing will stop her from going to Wrestlemania.  She said nothing will stop her though from beating Rhea Ripley and becoming women's champ.

Rhea Ripley then comes out. Rhea and Nia fight. Rhea is splashed into Becky and Becky's drink is spilled everywhere. Nia forearms Rhea down then is top rope dropkicked by Nia. Nia goes out then Becky and Rhea stare down. Rhea face kicks Nia off the apron and says she will have to kill her.

It was a fun little segment.

Drew McIntyre is interviewed wearing the CM Punk shirt with the gravestone again. He said all he has ever done is try to give the fans what they want. Drew calls Seth and Cody selfish and asks who the real bad guy is here. Drew says he is the underdog and had to beat AJ Styles last week just to get in the Chamber then has to win that. He tells Cody to get out of the match with him as he may not make Wrestlemania.

Truth thanks DIY for saving him. Truth said who would have thought he would get saved by DX. He thinks Ciampa is Triple H. He asks Ciampa how Road Dogg is doing and said he has two words for them - thank you. 

Elimination Chamber Qualifier - LA Knight vs Ivar

Valhallah is with Ivar. Val tries to get in and LA gets nailed from behind off of the distraction. LA hits punches on Ivar then ddt's him. LA dropkicks him through the ropes and bangs his head off the commentary table. Ivar is thrown into the rails then LA is thrown gut first onto the rails. Ivar crossbodies him against the rails.

We go to break and return. LA jumps up to the top rope and hits a superplex. They trade shots. LA goes to slam him and his back gives out. Ivar spinning slams him for 2. Ivar tiger drivers him for 2. Ivar misses a bronco buster then is powerslammed. LA elbow drops him for 2. Val distracts LA on the apron then Ivar spinning high heel kicks him. Ivar misses a top rope moonsault then LA hits a BFT for the win.

It was another shorter match. It was fine but just not what it could have been.

Sami and Drew talk in the back. Drew tells him to keep his name out of his mouth and his nose out of his business. Sami tells Drew he's in his way. Drew steps aside and stares Sami down. 

Adam Pearce talks to Indi, Dakota and Chelsea in the back. She wants in the last chance battle royale for the Elimination Chamber spot. Adam said he hasn't made the decision yet. Chelsea says Mania can't be the biggest of all time without her. Indi said she wants to compete in front of her family. Adam says there's a lot to consider and Chelsea says she's a champ. She calls Indi, Zoey and Shayna losers then Shayna and Zoey show up behind Chelsea. Shayna said she'd like to tear Chelsea's dreams apart and fight her next week. Chelsea is mad Adam didn't tell her Shayna was behind her this whole time.

Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura

 

SN backs him up and Sami shoves him. SN kicks him in the chest then hits knees to the gut and a side headlock. Sami leapfrogs and pulls SN over the top. We go to break and return. SN's head is banged off the buckles and Sami elbows him off the 2nd rope.

Sami is laid on the top rope and takes a knee to the body. SN hits kicks then hits a sliding german. Sami michinoku drivers him for 2 then lariats him over the top. Sami tope con hilos him outside.

We go to break and return. SN hits kicks to the body. They trade forearms and SN spinning heel kicks him. Sami blue thunders him for 2. Sami dives through the buckles but is enzugiri'd. SN jumping knees him in the back of the neck for 2.

SN hits a rough boot to the face then 2nd rope knees him in the back of the neck. SN runs at him and Sami lariats him. Sami slaps him around then exploders him into the buckles. Drew comes down and Sami gets distracted. SN dropkicks Sami in the back of the leg and running knees him in the back of the head to win it.

The match was really ripped up by commercials, as we had 2 breaks here. What we saw looked good though with both guys being stiff and SN bullying around Sami.

Drew and SN beat up Sami after. Cody Rhodes comes out to make the save and fights with both. Drew and Cody trade then Cody hits a cody cutter. Cody hits a cross rhodes on Drew to end the show.

Overall thoughts: It was a good show. It was rather wrestling heavy. The opener was good, the main was good, Lashley/Reed was short but good and the Becky/Rhea/Nia segment was good. I don't think I'd recommend it due to it being 3 hours, but they filled the time well tonight.
