Rubber City Wrestling 2/22/2024 RCW Global Episode 196

Episode 194 is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/05/rubber-city-wrestling-2292024-rcw.html

Kevin Phoenix says they are one month away from the next show. He said he is asking for a match there and said he saw they are in the rankings for a title match. He said if Lionheart and Draven are going to be the champs they say they are, maybe they will give him and Brandon Miller a shot. He said they lost their hunger for their titles and challenges them to prove they are defending champs.

Blackhawk vs Haystacks

Blackhawk has the bald head and Haystacks has the hair. Haystacks hits corner forearms then is clubbed on the back. Black side headlock takeovers him then Haystacks headscissors him. Black headstands and rolls out of it in a nice counter.

Haystacks eye rakes Black and stomps on him. Haystacks chokes him on the ropes then Black hits punches to the head and body. Black hits a big boot then doe a grounded cobra clutch to win it.

It was short but I thought it was decent. Blackhawk looked good here and it was nice to see two bigger guys go at it.

RCW Commissioner Shannon Goho said he is concerned about a match from New Year's Resolution. He said Spike is suspended and will return his title belts immediately.

Kevin Phoenix vs Colt Frost

Kevin is in the blue and Colt is in the black. Kevin takes his glasses off before this stats and then the ref puts them on for some reason. Kevin hammerlocks him then Colt trips him and does a tazzmission variation. Kevin flips him over and snapmares him. Kevin hits a euro then lariats him.

Kevin bangs his head off the buckles then corner splashes him. Kevin clean breaks him then chokes him. Kevin misses a charge and is booted. Colt stretches Kevin's arms back then takes a jawbreaker out of a hold. Kevin hits corner spears then slams him. Kevin runs the ropes then eye rakes him with his foot.

Colt gets mad and dropkicks him in the knee. Colt then drives Kevin's knee into the mat. Colt leg locks Kevin then drives Kevin's knee into the mat again. Colt ties up Kevin's leg and elbows it. Kevin claws/eye rakes him to break it.

They trade shots and Kevin knees him on the ropes. Kevin side slams him then elbow drops him for the win.

These guys are both young and there were some green moments here. Not great but for their experience level, there's been worse.

"Wrestling's Finest" Harley T. Morris vs "The Heavy Metal Heartthrob" Brennan Martel

Ric Lieb is out with Morris. Morris is an Ohio/Pennsylvania area wrestler and looks like an old school smaller heel with long blonde hair. Harley armdrags him then gets armdragged. Harley side headlocks him and uses the hair to keep it on. Bren hits a nice shoulderblock then Harley rolls him into a pin attempt.

Harley punches him out of the headlock then rakes his back. Bren short arm lariats him. Bren corner splashes him then hits a springboard twisting crossbody. Bren gets caught on the 2nd rope then Harley backcrackers him.

Harley stomps on him then throws him hard into the corner. Harley does a nice Buddy Landell elbow drop for 2. Harley claps hisears then slams him. Harley bow and arrows him and Bren reverses it with a pin attempt. Harley lariats him and drives him into the corner.

Harley misses a corner charge and goes into the buckles twice. Bren hits some nice punches then hits a nice ddt on him. Bren does a rocker dropper on Harley and gets the win.

This was the best match that I have seen out of this promotion so far. Harley T. Morris is easily the best worker in this company and really is a talented Buddy Landell style wrestler. His stuff looks good. Brennan was along for the ride here but did a decent job. His rocker dropped looked real nasty here.

Overall thoughts: This was a lot better than the last episode I had reviewed. Harley T. Morris is a good old school style heel and Blackhawk looked good in the little we saw of him. I wouldn't recommend it but 2 of the 3 matches were fine.
