NWA Powerrr 2/20/2024
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/03/nwa-powerrr-2132024.html
Thom Latimer says Bryan Idol is wasting his time. He says the only history they have is him beating his @ss. He says Idol will know his name and fear it.
Winner of the fall gets title shot - Taylor Rising, Natalia Markova and Ruthie Jay vs CJ, Miss Starr and Missa Kate
Jay takes a superkick from Kate to start. Jay northern lights suplexes CJ. Starr back elbows Jay and throws her over. Rising gets booted by Star then Star back splashes her. CJ twerks in Rising's face and slides through her legs. Rising armdrags CJ then Markova spin kicks CJ.
Markova throws CJ over by the arm and knees her in the face. Kate knees Markova in the back from the apron then pounds on her. Kate suplexes her for 2. Starr hits a superkick then Kate does as well. Starr hits another then CJ's partners refuse to tag her in.
Starr superkicks Markova then Kate tags in CJ when all 3 faces are in the ring. CJ then takes a triple superkick. Rising hits lariats and back elbows on Starr and Kate. Rising back elbows Kate then hurricanrana drivers her into the mat. Jay slingshots in and hits a double dropkick for 2.
CJ flips Markova over and buzzsaw kicks her. Jay hits a nice dropkick on CJ then Star ddt's Jay. Rising pedigrees Starr then Kate and Rising high kick each other at the same time. CJ comes in to get the pin but she's not legal and the ref ruses it. Markova top rope dropkicks CJ then hits a spinning heel kick in the corner. Markova then pins CJ to win it.
Kate's session near the end was a little messy but it was a decent trios tag with the heels refusing to tag in CJ. Rising seems like she has a lot of potential and I'm always surprised Markova isn't doing bigger things.
NWA Junior Heavyweight Title - Special Ref: Homicide - Colby Corino (c) vs Mecha Wolf
Homicide poses with CC's belt and CC isn't happy. Wolf runs at CC and boots him. Wolf throws him out then topes him into the rail. Wolf comes off the bottom rope with a spear for 2. Wolf takes off a turnbuckle pad then CC hits various shots. Wolf chops him down.
Wolf puts CC up top and chops him. Wolf is dropped off the 2nd rope then CC top ope swantons him while he's seated. CC then tope con hilos him outside. Wolf drops CC's arm down over the top then top rope double stomps it. Wolf pop-up powerbombs him then hits a pumping knee for 2.
CC loads up his elbow pad then hits chops. CC forearms him then hits a cutter. Homicide kind of slow counts him as they argue. Homicide tells him to suck it and tells him he's the ref here. Wolf pumping knees him and drops down off his shoulders into a knee. CC does a wraparound into a styles clash and gets a 2 count off of it. CC takes his elbow pad off and hits short arm lariats.
CC flips over him on the ropes then kicks him in the back. Wolf step-up enzugiri's him then germans him. CC germans him back then Wolf flying knees him. CC poisonrana's him then Wolf step up enzugiri's him. CC brainbusters him on the top buckle and wins it.
I liked it at first but then it just turned into your usual indy match with them doing too much.
Homicide poses with the title after and CC takes it away from him.
Talos and Daisy Kill are interviewed. Daisy plays a fiddle and sings. He signs about what's been happening and talks about The Spectacular's moms. He said they would watch them regain the tag titles on TV and says to have a good time.
Talos and Daisy Kill vs The New Spectaculars 2.0 (Slade and Rush Freeman)
Talos throws one of his opponents then foot chokes Rush Freeman. Daisy throws Rush down by the arm then Rush atomic drops him. Slade gets in and hits punches and a back elbow on Daisy. Slade suplexes Daisy then elbow drops him. Rush double axe handles Daisy and dances over him. Rush elbow drops him for 2.
Daisy grabs Slade's headgear then axe kicks Rush on the back. Talos bangs Rush's head off the buckles then corner splashes him. Talos hits another corner splash. Daisy hits kicks on Rush then side kicks him. Talos stomps Rush then Rush hits double boots out of the corner.
Slade lariats Daisy then release germans him. Slade hits a corner splash and germans him. Slade hits an air raid crash on Daisy then Talos face kicks Slade. Rush comes off the top then is caught and slammed by Talos. Talos hits a big chokeslam on Rush and wins it.
It was short but I didn't have any issues with this one. Daisy seemingly is the full package and a better version of Lexis King, but that name is stupid. Talos is a huge Diesel type of dude.
Thom Lattimer is interviewed. He said the only history he has with Bryan Idol is him kicking his @ss. He says he will bury him tonight in the ground where he belongs. He said he will then move on and keep his eyes on the 10 pounds of gold. He says Bryan will know his name and will fear it.
Falls Count Anywhere Streetfight - Thom Latimer vs Bryan Idol
Thom spits at him and they trade shots. Thom double thrusts him in the throat then Bryan rolls over his back and hits punches. Bryan lariats him from behind, sending him out. Thom is dropped crotch first on the rail.
Bryan grabs the steps outside, jumps off of them and takes a chair to the face. Thom gets a 2 count on the outside then is sent into the steps. Bryan is dropped on the rails going down the stairs and slides down to the floor.
They go up the stairs and Bryan's head is banged off a pillar. Bryan is laid on the bar counter. They say he waterboarded him but the screen was blacked out and we couldn't see it. Thom is thrown over the rails then Bryan jumps off the rails onto him for 2.
They fight in the crowd. Thom is hit with water in his mouth and the water goes flying. Bryan back slides him on the stage for 2 then is lariated on it. Thom then suplexes him on the hard wood stage for 2. Bryan hits some punches and chops then Bryan hits an unprettier on the stage for 2.
Bryan superkicks him. Thom throws the ref into him and hits him with a chair. Thom piledrivers him through a chair and wins it.
It was a good match with them going into the stands and fighting. Thom was a good heel here and they were quite brave to take bumps on the hard wood and floors.
Overall thoughts: The opener, the 3rd match and the main were all fine. The main was good with them going into the stands and the bar area then taking bumps on the floor and hard wood. I wouldn't recommend it, but the show was fine as whole.
