WWE NXT Level Up 9/23/2022
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/wwe-nxt-level-up-9162022.html
Dante Chen vs Bryson Montana
Chen I think had a new and bigger entrance and Montana has an interesting entrance with orange, black and blue lights. He's looking built here.
BM shoulders him over to start and poses then throws him around. Chen side headlocks him and pulls him down by sliding between the legs and holding on. Chen sticks with the side headlock and is pulled down then kips back up. Chen headlock takeovers him by walking up the ropes then hits a nice dropkick. BM then hits a nice lariat and hits mounted punches. BM sideslams him then michinoku drivers him for 2. BM bearhugs him then slams him.
BM puts him in the bearhug again then Chen back body drops him. Chen hits a punch flurry to the body and lariats him. Chen then pump kicks him from the side. Chen throws his wristbands off and dos a silly hulk up before hitting a double chop to win.
The finish was kind of silly but it was an okay match. Not great or anything and Chen got beaten up until he got his big comeback to win.
Chen then does another silly motion after.
Myles Borne is interviewed. This is his first interview. He said he has gotten up after all adversity and said he is still looking for his first win after 7 tries. He says Andre Chase is an experienced veteran, but he has a teachable moment for him. I've been a big supporter of Myles and he talked in an unusual way here. They reveal he is deaf later which explained it. I really feel bad for the guy and I hope this this doesn't come off as insensitive.
Valentina Feroz vs Indi Hartwell
Feroz's partner Leon got injured right when they were showing some improvement and we'll have to see what happens next.
Feroz grabs a leg early then rolls and spins out of a wristlock. Indi picks her up and drops her then rolls her up. Feroz goes for a dropkick but Indi holds onto the ropes. Indi tries to suplex her, Feroz tries to go downwards to block it and Indi deadlift lifts her into a suplex. Feroz hits some arm drags and spears her. Feroz dropkicks her then crossbodies her. Feroz jumps at her and gets spinebustered then Indi wins it.
It was short and not too good as expected, but the crowd likes Indi.
Myles Borne vs Andre Chase
Borne has different gear on today, ditching the singlet for black tights with white boots and some blue designs. They said he's been making noise at the Performance Center and they wonder what the limit is for him. I liked the old look better.
Borne takes him down, alligator rolls him then fireman's carry slams him and kips up. Chase shoulders him over then firemans carry slams him. Chase says this is a teachable moment then does a hammer lock and hooks his arm with his legs. Borne does a cool mid-air twist to change up the hammerlock then headflips up. Chase goes under his legs then cartwheels. Chase throws him then gives him his legs and flips him backwards into a pin.
Chase celebrates and Borne dropkicks him. Borne does a nice Japanese armdrag and they say Borne went ot the same school as Michael Jordan. Chase uses the ropes to flip out of an armhold then thye trade punches. Chase uraken's him then russian legsweeps him. Chase does the C-H-A-S-E-U stomps and top rope crossbodies him for the win.
Really fun match here. They had some top notch technical wrestling here and both guys looked good. This was maybe the best Chase ever looked on this show and the best match Borne has had so far.
Chase helps up Borne after and shakes his hand.
Overall thoughts: The main was pretty good and honestly worth a watch. The opener was acceptable and the girls match wasn't too good.
