Dramatic Dream Team 8/14/2022 Road To Peter Pan 2022 In Korakuen Hall ~ Let's Shout!

This show is filled with comedy wrestling and intergender stuff, so there's a lot I ended up skipping here.

MAO, Yuki Ishida & Yukio Sakaguchi vs. DAMNATION T.A (Daisuke Sasaki, KANON & MJ Paul)

Kanon holds his belt in Yukio's face during intros and Yukio kick combos him and they go down. Everyone brawls to start here and Yukio high kicks Kanon. Kanon throws him as he has him in a sleeper then Yukio is tripped into the 2nd rope and hit with a chair by Sasaki. Paul splashes Yukio on the ropes for 2 then hits punches. Paul bolo punches Yukio and totally misses on the last one then takes kicks. Paul then fisherman busters him.

Sasaki top rope lariats Yukio then Yukio hits forearms on him. Mao gets in and top rope knee drops Sasaki. Mao then dropkicks Sasaki and split legged moonsaults him for 2. Mao tries to armdrag Sasaki into something but Sasaki rolls and crossfaces him. Ishida breaks it up and is thrown out. Mao jumping kicks Sasaki then gets speared. Kanon gets in and volleyball spikes Mao then jumping fist drops him.

Mao corkscrew kicks him then Ishida running splashes him in the corner. Ishida running shoulders him and flying shoulders Kanon. Yukio high kicks Paul as Ishida holds him. Kanon is laid on the top rope and takes flying knees then Ishida battering rams him. Paul and Sasaki hold Ishida. They ddt him into a german then Kanon lariats Ishida for 2. Kanon twisting brainbusters Ishida and wins it.

Nothing wrong with this. It was a fast paced match with everyone getting a little in.

HARASHIMA vs Takeshi Masada

This is Takeshi Masada's debut. He has only been training for 3 months, and is the fastest debut ever for DDT.

HS takes him down then Masada wristlocks him. Masada headscissors him and HS headflips out. Masada takes him down by the wrist and HS rolls out. HS trips him then stomps his back. HS hits a stiff kick to the back and legdrops him. HS puts him in the camel clutch and Masada ropebreaks.

HS chops him in the corner. They trade chops and HS crabs him, but Masada quickly grabs the ropes. Masada hits a high dropkick and flatliners him. Masada pump kicks him for 2. They trade forearms and HS kicks him. They trade chest kicks then Masada hits a triangle enzugiri in the corner. Masada falcon arrows him for 2. HS then falcon arrows him for 2. HS crabs him and Masada ropebreaks. Masada hits a nice spinning back high kick and thrust kicks him. HS legsweeps him then hits a meteora for the win.

Masada looked real good here in his debut. If you didn't tell me he was a rookie, I wouldn't have known. This dude was a very good find and looks like he has ace level potential.

Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlet Battle Royal

This was a weird match with 3 envelopes hanging from a wire. They had to climb the ladder to get them and new people would enter every few minutes. Only one of the envelopes had the prize and if you grabbed the wrong envelope, you were eliminated from the match. You could also get eliminated by going over the top rope and down to the floor.

Shinya Aoki ended up winning this one by grabbing the contract over Shunma. They had a couple of ladder spots, some comedy with Hirata and it was just an unusual match with a lot going on.

DDT Extreme Title Fluorescent Lighttube IPPON Death Match - Akito (c) vs. Joey Janela

They have one light tube for this, so this is comedy. They both try to push each other into it early. Joey hammerlocks him and Akito grabs the tube. Akit hammerlocks him and tries to block his back elbow with it then Joey hammerlocks him and the tube is on the mat. Joey rolls and flips over it then headstands over it. Akito tries to monkey flip him on it but Joey flips over it. Akito cartwheels over it and they go for it at the same time.

Joey lariats him to get him to fall on the the tube and Akito swings the tube at him. Akito is german suplexed as he holds the tube. Joey throws the tube at Akito and he catches it then they go outside and Akito tries to force his foot on it.

Akito bridges a tube over the apron and rail. They fight on the apron and Akito tries to dropkick him off it but Joey jumps over the rails to avoid it. They fight on the top rope, Joey is thrown off it but avoids landing on the tube. Akito is hurricanrana'd off the top but avoids the tube then is powerbombed while holding the tube. Joey tries to do a top rope elbow on him and put him into the tube, but he avoids the tube. They throw the tube at each other and punch each other.

They fall down at the same time but hold the tube still. They fight up top again and Akito is superplexed but prevents the tube from breaking on the landing. Akito runs at Joey, Joey rolls the tube at him and he steps on it to break it.

This is what I call "Game Pro Wrestling". The point of this and similar matches isn't to pin or submit the opponent, but to basically play a game in a ring. I sadly think it's going to play a big role in wrestling, but it's just an extension of comedy wrestling. Yeah, some of the ways they avoided the tube were clever and all, but it had little to do with wrestling.

Harimao (Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura) vs. Burning (Jun Akiyama & Tetsuya Endo)

Endo and Higuchi do some chain wrestling to start. Naomi and Jun go at it and shoulder battle. Naomi shoulders Jun over and then Jun and Higuchi trade chest chops. Jun elbows him in the back of the head. Endo gets in and chops Higuchi then takes chops back. Higuchi slams and splashes him for 2. Endo takes a double shoulder then both opponents elbow drop him for 2. Naomi slams Endo for 2 then Endo neckbreakers him.

Naomi is thrown into the rails by Jun, then ddt'd on the floor. Jun knees Naomi in the back of the head as he hangs off the apron. Jun piledrivers Naomi for 2. Endo gets in and trades forearms with Naomi then Naomi suplexes him. Jun gets in and forearms Naomi while Naomi tries to fight back with chops. Naomi gets dropped then Jun snapmares him and hits a nasty knee to the face. Jun jumping knees him but he throws him off. Naomi STO's him. Endo and Higuchi get in and Endo springboard forearms him. Endo then tornado ddt's him.

Higuchi shoulders Endo. Endo rolls into Higuchi and ends up getting slammed off of it. Endo puts him in a submission and Naomi legdrops him to break it up. Endo takes a double gorilla press slam. Naomi puts Endo on his shoulders in an electric chair position and Higuchi tries to razor's edge him off of it but he escapes. Endo and Higuchi trade chops and Endo superkicks him. They lariat each other at the same time then Higuchi germans him.

Endo handspring back enzugiri's him then gets lariated. Naomi shoulders Jun over in the corner then overhead suplexes him from tbe bearhug position. Jun hits a stiff lariat on Naomi then running knees him for 2. They trade chops then Jun headbutts him and exploders him for 2. Endo and Higuchi go at it then Endo flying space tigers him. Higuchi tries to catch him and basically doesn't, but picks him back up and slams him on the floor off of it. Jun exploders Naomi then Naomi side throws him for the win.

It went a little long, but they definitely were trying to tell a story here about Naomi being an underdog and trying to get a big win. They were successful at that. The match was pretty good with a lot of stiff shots and high impact moves. Naomi got a ton of shine as the face underdog and it was good story telling.

Overall thoughts: I skipped close to half the show. I liked the main and Masada did good in his debut, but I wasn't a fan of the rest.
