IWA Puerto Rico Impacto Total 7/23/2022

IWA Puerto Rico Impacto Total 7/23/2022

NOTE - IWA has two sets of titles. Fernando Tonos got a percentage of the IWA and kind of claimed his own champions, who are the IWE champions. It's very confusing.

Manny Ferno talks about Savio Vega to start. He says it's not over after Savio and Invader jumped him last week.

IWA Intercontinental Title - Manu vs Aiden Grimm

They show us a package of what lead to this before hand and Tonos ordered this match.

Manu takes him down then is taken down. Hes goes behind him and Manu forces the rope break. Manu rolls out of a wristlock and flips him over his shoulder. Aiden hits some armdrags then backdrops him. Manu exploder suplexes him for 2 then Manu works Aiden's lower back.

Manu hits chops in the corner then takes some back. Manu hiptosses him and overhead belly to belly suplexes him. Manu hits somce crossface strikes on him and came clutches him. Aiden neckbreakers him over his knee then hits some punches. Aiden hits a flying euro then slingblades him for 2.

They go up top and Manu goes down and avoids a top rope move. Manu forearms him and splashes him then Manu hits another flying forearm. Manu blue thunder bombs him for 2. Aiden reverses a german suplex with a roll-up and grabs the win. Aiden then poses with the fans after.

Not a classic, but it was a solid match. The finish was a nice little surprise and Manu looked good here.

Manu looks frustrated after and we run down the Summer Attitude show.

We see clips of someone getting jumped by a tag team and we see I think Ariania La Diabla talking about it.

We see Excellent Mantel looking for Pupe Jackson in the locker room. He was unable to find him.

IWA Tag Titles - Excellent Mantel vs Dean Rose and Hellblaze

Pupe Jackson is again not around so Mantel has to do this 1v2. He hits a Thesz Press on Dean then forearms Blaze off the apron and plancha's him. Dean then lariats him to regain control. Mantel takes a double hiptoss. Rose and Blaze's manager chokes Mantel on the ropes.

Mantel is stomped on. He tries to get a comeback going with punches but is stopped by Dean. Mantel then takes a double suplex. Blaze misses a corner splash and is neckbreakered. Mantel makes his comeback and backdrops Dean down. Mantel trips Blaze into Rose's crotch.

We cut away and Pupe Jackson is being beaten in. Mantel gets distracted, takes a sit out spinebuster then Dean top rope elbows him and gets the win. Dean Rose and Hellblaze are the new tag champs!

Pupe is dragged and bleeding then he gets stomped outside. Mantel then gets tripped, elbowed and senton'd. Diabla beats up Pupe then Mantel is stomped next to him. Pupe is stretched out.

This was a solid, logical match. The post match angle was good with Pupe being stretched out and bleeding everywhere.

We see the people who beat up Pupe Jackson talking outside. They said this is the beginning of violence.

We go to break and see Pupe Jackson looking dead on a stretcher.

Mr. Big vs El Fugitivo Niche

The commentators say Big has the strength of 10 men.

We see clips of Niche working out in the gym after being beaten up by Big. He says he considered Big his older brother. He said they made history together. He said he will put him in his place and straighten him up.

Niche rushes in at him with punches and is thrown off. They throw a nice flurry of punches at each other and Niche jumps on him and is thrown off and out. Niche takes a hard bump onto the floor then Big rips off his shirt. Big chops him hard against the apron then Niche jumps off the steps to dropkick him, then lands hard on the floor. Niche hits Kawada kicks from the apron then is slammed on the hard basketball court floor.

Big hits some nice clubs on Niche outside then Niche jumps on him from behind as he looks for weapons. Niche hits him hard with a chair and Jordi the ref tries to take the chair away. Big side slams him for 2. Niche then runs into a lariat and flips for it. Niche spits on Big and gets clubbed on for it. Niche hits corner kicks off a misssed charge, then 2nd rope cutters him and spinning heel kicks him. Niche then hits a top rope clotheslines for 2.

Niche counters a chokeslam with a big knee then takes another side slam for 2. Niche counters Big's chokeslam with a sleeper on his back then is rammed backwards into the buckles. Niche gets his head banged off the buckle then he hits a sick 2nd rope chokeslam. Niche just bounced hard off of that and Big picks up the win.

The first half of this had some awesome brawling and the 2nd half was good with Niche trying to make a babyface comeback on Big before being put down. This was a very good match and one to see.

Big goes to hurt him more after but Niche's friends run down and stop him.

Mantel sees Pupe near dead on the stretcher in the back and is crying and yelling, "whyyyyyyy". He then yells, "Pupeeee, Pupeeee" in a great segment.

Khriz Diaz comes out. They talk about Diaz being a psychopath. He grabs a mic and calls the crowd morons. We cut to clips of the Manny Ferno vs Invader argument over who the real champ is then see Invader heart punch him. Diaz says Ferno is the true champion and is not here thanks to Invader and Savio Vega. He then challenges John Hawking for the title tonight. John Hawking then comes out. Diaz asks him if he accepts. Hawking eventually accepts. Hawking talks in English and Spanish to be honest, it might be easier to understand him in Spanish. Hawking says let's go.

IWA World Title - John Hawking (c) vs Khriz Diaz

Diaz hits punches early then John corner splashes him. John hits lariats and Diaz goes out to regroup. John knocks him down with punches and Diaz begs off. Diaz hits a lariat and then hits some stomps and mounted punches. Diaz chokes him over the middle rope with his knee.

Diaz knees him in the gut and has to avoid getting kicked in the face by him as he flips for it. HDiaz grabs a weapon and it is taken away. John hulks up and hits punches and lariats. John michinoku drivers him for 2. John goes for a full-nelson slam but is rolled up. John then hits him with a full-nelson slam and wins it.

This was quick and nothing too special. It was fine though.

Azazel does a promo on Niche. Az says Niche had the title and didn't know how to defend it .he says he is the champ and will represent the division. He said he broke the record as the youngest champ. He says something like it took him a lot to win it, and he's going to give even more to defend it.

IWE Tag Titles - The Faces of Destiny (Jay Blake and Nick Mercer) vs Los Inhumanos (Savio Vega and Invader I)

Savio hammerlocks Mercer and he rope breaks. Invader holds up Mercer for punches and Savio gets some in before almnost nailing Invader. Invader gets in and keeps control over Nick then side headlock takeovers him. Nick headscissors him and both tag out.

Savio drops Blake with a punch and snapmares him into a chinlock. Savio side headlocks him. Invader gets in and out and Savio is hit while running the ropes. Blake then ddt's Savio and drops elbows on him. Nick stomps Savio in the corner then whips him hard in the corner. Nick backcrackers Savio for 2 and this corner chops.

Savio blocks a chop then runs into a knee in the other corner. Nick then jumping knees him for 2. Nick  works both arms and chinlocks him. Savio then backdrops him. Invader chops and punches Nick then kicks him square in the nuts. The ref ignores it though and the announcers insiste it was a stomach kick and say it was legal. Invader back body drops him then Nick and Jay are whipped into each other.

Invader accidentally hits Savio and they push each other while arguing. Jay and Nick laugh at this and tell them to keep fighting then Savio and Invader  chop and double back body drop them. Invader heart punches Jay then Savio superkicks Jay and picks up the win.

They built up to the Vega/Invader issues here some which affected the finish but it was a slower and somewhat boring match. It made sense and all, though I didn't like Invader getting away with a low blow.

Manny Ferno does a promo on Savio and Invader. He says it's not over and he has a surprise plan for them.

Savio and Invader then get jumped by a couple of people. Mr. Big gets mad outside as his cronies get beaten by Savio and Invader. Invader then does a promo on Mr. Big after and asks if they will be able to get up when he hits them. Savio then makes the challenge I think for Mr. Big and Manny Ferno against Savio's alter ego TNT and Invader.

We then go to a Wizard Analiza segment as he shills for a pharmacy, a printing store and a gym. Barbie Boy interrupts him, who is some exotico character that I won't be covering much here. The subtitles couldn't catch most of this and I don't know what it was about. Barbie Boy feels him up and Wizard beats him up for it.

We cut to Manny Ferno and Mr. Big talking in the car. I believe they find Invader's adult son in the parking lot and beat him up and hit heart punches. He gets left laying.

We get a recap of the issues between Jordi El Nino and Jay Martinez. Jordi isn't happy with Jay ejecting him from the arena. He reveals his last name which he seemed to imply was a secret of some sort.

We run down the next show called summer Attitude It has Savio Vega/Hawking vs Manny Ferno and Mr. Big, Aiden Grimm vs Manu, La Artilleria Ilegal vs The Faces of Destiny, Niche vs Azazel amongst others.

Jordi argues with someone and is thrown into the wall. That person then calls for Wizard but finds Mr. Big and Manny Ferno. He slaps Manny then Big grabs him and Manny hits a heart punch on him.

Manny Ferno meets up with Fernando Tonos. They talk about who Manny just beat up. They talk about the IWE tag titles and seem to imply that they can make Savio and Invader defend the titles in a tough match becausethey have to defend the titles. They bring up EJ Nduka from MLW and Mads Krugger from MLW. Tonos said the trip he took at the airport last week paid off and was a success. He said he has another surprise for him. Ferno says he has someone who can bring him the World Title from John Hawking. He brings up Kwang as this person if I am understanding correctly. I don't think they mean Savio by that though. He then seems to imply he is going to team up with the legendary El Bronco to take the tag titles.

This was a very long segment with a lot of news. I did the best I could with it and hopefully I didn't make too many mistakes during translation.

Overall thoughts:
Mr. Big vs Niche was pretty good and worth a look and the angle with Pupe Jackson was good as well. I thought the show was good overall but the last half of the show got tough with all of the talking.
