Ice Ribbon 6/26/2022 Ice Ribbon #1210 After the Rain, Ribbon 2022

I saw all but one match here.

Semi Final - Tournament Singles Match - Yuki Mashiro vs. Ibuki Hoshi

They try to dropkick each other at the same time early. Ibuki sits on her back and pulls her hair. Ibuki is stuck in the ropes and Yuuki goes to duck tape her but Ibuki stops it. Yuuki bulldog chokes her. Yuuki then does something like a rings of saturn only with a hammerlock.

Ibuki comes out and dropkicks her then hits a lightning spiral. Ibuki goes up top and gets her eyes poked then she is taped to the ropes. Ibuki then gets out and beats her with the tape. They trade chest forearms and chops. Ibuki hits a top rope splash but Yuuki reverses the pin attempt. They both try to pin each other and Ibuki gets a close nearfall. Ibuki then grabs her up by the tights and wins it.

The pin was definitely illegal and there was some comedy here, but it was an entertaining opener. I don't really like them using the comedy in a match of this nature though as it should be more serious.

Semi Final - Tournament Singles Match - Saori Anou vs. Tae Honma

Anou bridges out of a pin attempt then axe kicks her back. Anou misses a kick on the ropes and gets stuck in it then dropkicked. Tae then armbars her on the apron. Tae then triangles her as she is stuck in the ropes. They trade forearms to the chest. Tae hits a bunch of them then Anou hits a flurry of her own.

They fight up top and Anou hurricanrana's her and it's nearly botched. Anou hits a great perfect plex thena headscissors with a bridge. Anou then does a great pin off a backslide then does a great deadlift german. Tae comes back with a rolling armbar then rolls her up. Tae then does a nice arm and leg hold on her.

Tae goes up top and dropkicks her then Anou step up enzugiri's her. Anou then rolls her up and wins out of nowhere.

The finish was random but it was a good back and forth match. Anou looked great here with fantastic bridges and Tae held up her end too.

Cherry, Kiku and Yappy vs. SAKI, Hikari Shimizu and Yuko Sakurai

Kiku's team is attacked at the bell then Kiku is tripped into a dropkick and is sat on by all opponents. Kiku's team is thrown into each other and they dosey-do and attack their opponents then pose. Kiku hits dropkicks on Yuko then Yuka puts her in the cobra twist.

Hikari gets in and PK's Kiku and they trade kicks. Kiku then PK's her. Cherry hits a blade runner on her then Hikaru runs up the buckles and kicks her as she sits on top. Cherry takes a double boot. Saki grabs Cherry's arm and leg and spins her then Cherry walks up her knee and does a nice armbar. Cherry then hits a neat camel clutch + crab combo on two opponents at once. Cherry then takes a vader bomb from Saki.

Cherry then grabs the ref's arms to clothesline Saki. Cherry then exploders her. Yappy gets in and bronco busters Yuko on the ropes then Yuko shoulders her. Yappy then takes a double suplex and Hikari jumps over Yuko's back to double stomp Yappy.  Yappy then lariats Yuko and airplane spin drops her. Yuko then reverses a move attempt from Yappy and rolls her up for the win.

This was a good trios match. The action was fast and there were some innovative moves.

Maika Ozaki vs Arisa Shinose

This is officially Arisa Shinose's debut, though we saw her do exhibition matches.

They lock up and Arisa hits a bunch of forearms. Maika side headlocks her then slams her. Maika gets thrown by the hair. and Arisa fights back with forearms. Maika camel clutches her then crabs her and Arisa rolls her up on a slam attempt. Arisa hits more forearms and takes some back. Maika lariats her against the ropes, then misses a senton and is rolled up.

Arisa tries for another roll-up and a backslide. Maika blocks her sunset flip attempt then just sits on her for 2. Maika then knocks her over and sentons her for 2. Maika racks her and really crunches her to win it.

This was just a total squash and didn't accomplish much of anything.

Hamuko Hoshi and Makoto vs Amin and Misa Kagura

Amin and Misa attack off the handshake then shoulder Ham over. They double armlock her and pose. Makoto poses in front of them and breaks it up. Makoto and Ham do a butt attack on both opponents in the corner and Ham bulldogs Misa for 2.

Makoto ties up Misa in the ropes and pulls her nose. Misa tries to fight back but is stopped and axe kicked. Makoto then drops double knees on her and Misa comes back with shoulder throws. Misa dropkicks her and tags out. Amin gets in and has her falling splash blocked, but she is pushed back then Misa joins in to double splash Makoto.

Makoto flying dropkicks Amin then Amin and Ham chest chop battle. Amin spinning chops her then puts her in reverse tree of woe. Ham is then splashed while in that position. Misa drops sentons on Ham and totally misses the last one. Ham then bowls her over with a shoulder.

Ham and Makoto sandwich Misa then Amin powerslams Ham. Misa gets on Amin's back and they splash Ham. Makoto spears Misa then Ham flying stomachs her for 2. Ham then northern lights her for another 2. Misa clotheslines her then Ham hits a short arm lariat for 2. Ham then top rope splashes Misa for the win.

This wasn't bad at all. It was short and they didn't do any wild moves or anything but they kept it moving and they showed some of their personalities here.

Yuna Manase and Totoro Satsuki vs. Asahi and Kaho Matsushita

Yuna's team is attacked at the bell and Kaho's team can't moe them with dropkicks. Yuna's team stands on their opponents backs then Totoro and Kaho trade chest forearms. Totoro hits a big slam on Kaho for 2. Kaho hits some dropkicks on Yuna then Asahi top rope crossbodies Yuna and lariats her. Yuna shoulders on Asahi then lariats her hard in the corner.

Asahi ducks a clothesline on the apron and rolls through the ropes. She then facebusters Yuna for 2. Yuna spins around Asahi then Totoro shoulders her over. Totoro corner lariats Asahi then sentons her. Totoro and Asahi trade chest forearms then head forearms. Asahi double axe handles her. Kaho top rope crossbodies Totoro for 2 then dropkicks her.

Kaho PK's Totoro for 2 then powerbombs Asahi on Totoro. Totoro double suplexes both opponents then Kaho takes a sandwich lariat from both opponents. Yuna then gets on Totoro's back to splash Kaho. Kaho and Asahi then do double sideslam move on Yuna. Kaho slams Yuna then backslides her with Asahi's help for 2. Totoro then double clotheslines both opponents.

Asahi 619's Yuna then both opponents missile dropkick Yuna. Asahi rolls up Yuna for 2 then Kaho tries it on Yuna. Yuna then hits a big lariat on her. Yuna hits anothr lariat on Kaho and wins it.

I thought this was a decent match. Kaho and Asahi did good in their sections near the end and they did play up the size differences some, though they could have done it more. Kaho and Asahi have really improved over the last few months and wouldn't look at all out of place around the main now.

ICE×∞ Title - Saori Anou vs Yuuki Mashiro

Yuuki ties her up in the ropes and pulls her arms then takes a big facekick. Yuuki pulls her out and bangs her head off the post. Yuuki then bangs her head off the sign in the stands. Back in and Anou slams her then Yuuki goes for an armbar. Yuuki then dropkicks her. Anou hits a perfectplex then a facekick but Yuuki comes back with a spinkick.

Yuuki crossbodies her from the 2nd rope then Anou powerbombs her out of the triangle position. The ref gets knocked over and  Yuuki tries to use the rope to pin her but is caught. Anou slaps her and she goes down then Yuuki goes for another armbar. Yuuki then triangles her.

Yuuki misses a bad top rope splash then takes a bridging headscissors. They try some pin attempts and Yuuki grabs her tights on one. Anou facekicks her then Yuuki does a nice backslide and a flip into a pin attempt for 2. Anou hits a stiff release german for 2 then hits another german for 1. Yuuki eye pokes her and rolls her up while holding the tights for 2. Anou then hits a sling blade and does a blockbuster into a pin to win it.

This was a fun one with Yuuki's usual antics and some good kickouts to make it seem like Yuuki had a chance. Probably could have been done better but this was pretty good for Yuuki Mashiro and I was intrigued to see who would win it. Anou winning is the wrong move here as Ice desperately needs a new ace, but I'm not shocked as this is stuff Japanese companies do.

Overall thoughts: Not a bad night for Ice with some good matches. I enjoyed this one and the tournament matches delivered.
