Pure-J 4/10/2022

Pure-J 4/10/2022

The crowd can't cheer as usual and most of the matches are longer, so that's going to bring down these matches.

Kaori Yoneyama vs Chie Oozora

Yone has some sign with her, but I don't know what it means. Chie uses the ropes to flip out of a wristlock and they stand off after a headlock escape. They both evade each others foot stomps then Kaori gets some in. Chie then walks the ropes with Yone's arm and armdrags her. Chie then double reverse armbars her while Yone is in the ropes and dropkicks her there. Yone hair throws her then camel clutches her. Chie then hits some dropkicks for 2.

They trade mongolian chops then do them at the same time. Chie then armbars her over the top rope and puts her in some holds on the mat. Yone flatliners her then does a senton for 2. Chie tries some roll-ups then Kaori rolls her and wins it.

It was alright. Mostly basic stuff and nothing too crazy. They matched up fine together and it went about 10 minutes.

Openweight Title Eliminator Tournament - Rydeen Hagane vs KAZUKI

This was supposed to be a tag match according to the graphic, but wasn't. This is a title shot eliminator.

Rydeen pearl harbor's her partner with a lariat, then german suplexes her and hits another lariat. Kaz comes back with knees then works her arm. Rydeen does a side throw on her then crabs her. Rydeen works the back more then slams and sentons her. Kaz then hammerlocks her at 5 minutes. Rydeen then hits a spinning side slam for 2 and racks her.

Kaz comes back with a meteora against the ropes then vader bomb style knee drops her. Kaz rolling armbars her. Rydeen comes back at her then corkscrew vader bombs her for 2. Kaz hits a meteora for 2 then Kaz drops double knees on her from the top for 2. Kaz hits a knee flurry to the chest then Rydeen sitout F-U's her for 2. Rydeen hits some lariats for 2 then sliding lariats her for another 2.

Kaz spinning alabama slams her for 2 then triangles her at 14 minutes. Rydeen passes out while in it and Kazuki wins at a little over 15 minutes. Rydeen goes to attack Kazuki after the match.

It went a little long and dragged a little in the middle but the armwork did lead up to a triangle finish. I would have rather this gone shorter and had Rydeen be in control more over Kazuki than the other way around.

Momo Tani and Leon vs AKARI and Crea

Crea shoulders Momo early then Momo takes Akari dropkicks while in Crea's camel clutch. Momo and Leon dropkick both opponents then drop double knees on their corner and do the Momo taunt. Leon hits a nice running corner dropkick on Akari then flipping sentons her. Leon camel clutches Akari and Momo dropkicks Akari while she is in it.

Crea gets in and indian deathlocks Leon then Leon escapes and tags out. Momo trades forearms for chops with Crea and Crea hits some running kicks and face kicks her through the ropes. Momo rolling guillotines her but Crea immediately hits the ropes. Momo then hits running knees in the corner then Leon spears her against the buckles.

Leon runs up the ropes for a bulldog on Crea then double underhook suplexes her for 2. They trade forearms and Crea hits a spinning high kick then a northern lights suplex for 2 at 10 minutes. Akari gets in and hits some kicks then a suplex on Leon for 2. Akari gets thrown off the top rope then takes a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for 2. Leon then texas cloverleafs her. Leon then does a missile dropkick for 2.

Leon higts a spinning high kick then then Momo and Akari exchange shots. Momo hits a high knee. Momo backcrackers her then takes a 619. Crea then lifts her for an Akari bulldog. Akari then northern lights suplexes her for 2. Momo drops double knees off the top on Akari then meteora's her for 2. Momo rolls up Akari then wins it with a sol naciente.

This just ran too long for me and didn't feel like there was any big point to it in front of a crowd that couldn't really cheer.

Openweight Title Eliminator Tournament - Hanako Nakamori vs Yuu

Yuu misses a senton early and takes a back kick. Yuu throws her by both arms then takes a running PK. Yuu side splashes her in the corner then crabs her. Hanako works her arm some then hits some kicks. Hana facekicks her on the ropes then top rope dropkicks her. Yuu no sells it then spinning side slams her. Hana hits more kicks then Yuu crossbodies her for 2.

Yuu shotgun dropkicks Hana then Hana comes right back with a shining wizard. Hana charges at her again and Yuu drops her weight on her. Yuu then cannonballs her in the corner and crossbodies her as she is seated. Hana then runs into a big lariat. Hana headbutts her then hits a stiff upwards kick with her shin as Yuu is slightly bent over.

Yuu comes back with some sentons then second rope splashes her for 2. Hana then high kicks her and shining wizards her.  Hana just runs into her then Yuu dives forward on her to win in a poor finish.

I didn't like this one too much. Yuu should have used her size against Hana and Hana should have been the face here. Instead, Hana basically went 50/50 with her. Neither girl really got a lot of offense in for any kind of momentum and it just wasn't a strong match.

Overall thoughts: They only had 4 matches, so they ran longer than they needed to in front of a crowd that couldn't cheer. That set-up was just not ideal for good wrestling and the work was just not too smart.
