Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 2/18/2022 - TJPW Tokyo Joshi Winter 2022
Half the roster is out with covid tonight and the card has been changed a dozen times.
Arisu Endo vs Mahiro Kiryu
Not much happens early. Endo hits a back elbow and Mahiro hits bad corner shots. Mahiro armlocks her and Endo hits the ropes. Mahiro does a bad springboard into a punch. Mahiro hits a bad dropkick in the gut and they do an ugly trip. Endo then camel clutches her. Mahiro gets out and hits a stiff spinebuster for the win.
This was a terrible diva level match with Mahiro's offense looking like garbage. Easily the worst match I have seen this year.
Moka Miyamoto vs Pom Harajuku
Pom ties her arms up and clubs her with both arms then rolls on her for a pin. Pom runs the ropes and armdrags her twice. Pom has her against the bottom buckle and she sits on the bottom rope while standing on her leg. Moka comes back with a slam. Pom leg drops her leg then keylocks the leg.
Pom hits a dropkick off the 2nd rope then face busters her. Moka comes back with a single leg dropkick. Moka then hits her punch to the gut then karate chops Pom's gut. Pom then walks up her back while she is down and legdrops her over the neck to win.
This also wasn't any good with Pom doing awful offense to the shin and Moka not getting much in while a dead crowd watches on. Well, except for the guy in the blue bandana who is literally asleep in the front row.
Neko Haruna vs Hyper Misao
Misao is dressed up like a cat and is doing poses seemingly to mock Neko, whose name means cat.
Neko nails Misao as she cat poses then eye rakes her. They tease dueling tails then Misao cheap shots Neko. Neko slaps Misao with the tailshe had then eye rakes her. She then walks then top rope then eye rakes her.
Misao comes back with a crossbody then rocking chairs her. Misao throws Neko into the buckle then drops down and rolls her up. She gets caught with her feet on the ropes and then Neko hits some back elbows. Neko does a great submission on Misao.
Misao's back is on the ropes and Neko sleepers her then climbs on her back for a sunset flip for 2. Neko clotheslins her off the 2nd rope. They both sit on the 2nd rope and Misao drops down and hits a 2nd rope coconut crush. She then slices her for the win.
They didn't really mess up anything but the match really wasn't any good and was very basic.
Kaya Toribani vs Nao Kakuta vs Yuki Kamifuku
They all argued to start and Yuki went after Nao. Kaya got between them and was pushed off then she fought both. Nao then threw Kaya by the hair and Yuki slammed her. Yuki threw Kaya into Nao's foot, then they foot choked her in the corner.
Kaya was stunnered over the top rope then Nao and Yuki traded forearms. Yuki was preparing to get chopped then Nao eye poked her instead. Kaya dropkicked both girls then backflip kicked Nao in the back.
Yuki hit a big chop and dropkick on Kaya to send her out then Yuki suplexed Nao. Kaya missed a springboard tornillo elbow on Nao and was thrown into Yuki on the apron. Nao then hit her with a TKO and won it.
It was short and it was alright for what it was but a three way that only goes about 7 minutes with no build gives you very little to work with.
Marika Kobashi vs Shoko Nakajima
Shoko took control early and slingshot senton atomico'd her. Shoko held her MK's head with her knees and banged it off the mat. Shoko hit some clubs on her then stomped her down. She then got hit with a dropkick.
MK did a rolling fireman's carry slam and a bad legdrop for 2. MK put her in a guillotine choke and grounded her but Shoko lifted her out. Shoko was seated and MK leg dropped her. Shoko drove MK's head into the buckle with a bulldog then missed a top rope dropkick. She then took a shining wizard and took a 619. MK jumped on her and rolled her back for a grounded guillotine choke at 10 minutes. Shoko hit a stiff top rope hurricanrana on her and they exchanged forearms to the chest. Shoko hit her with a DDT then senton'd her from the top for the win.
Everyone gets in and Aino's team is irish whipped into each other. Arai, Mizuki and Noa then dropkick them all like dominos in the corner. Suzume gets slammed by Arai and then hits a nice dropkick on Mizuki.
Miu and Aino hit stereo bodyslams on Mizuki and Noa. Mizuki hits a nice 2nd rope dropkick on Aino then Noa hits some fast dropkicks on Aino. Aino fireman carry presses an opponent down then Suzume hits another dropkick on Noa. Suzume top rope crossbodied Noa for 2.
Suzume uses the ropes to bulldog Noa and Miu splashes Noa in the corner. Noa hit a big superkick on Miu. Arai got in and Miu hit a pendulum backbreaker on her then hit a giant swing. Arai hit a stiff pump kick on Miu then sharpshooter'd her. Aino broke it up then Miu hit a big slam on Arai. Arai comes back with a full nelson slam on Miu then Miu hits a wind-up chop. The time limit then expires soon after.
Overall thoughts: The first half of this show was super rough with a dead crowd. It got better as it went on, but this is TJPW and these girls are idols first and wrestlers second. If you are looking for classics, this is not your promotion.
