WWE NXT UK 5/13/2021

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/05/wwe-nxt-uk-562021.html

Heritage Cup Rules - Noam Dar vs Nathan Frazer

R1 - NF flips out of an armlock early. Dar pushes NF then sude steps him as he charges in. NF does a nice headpsring out of a headscissors then drills NF with a euro uppercut after the bell rings to end the round.

R2 - NF rolls him up and they trade forearms. NF backslides him into a nice roll-up and takes the fall.

R3 - NF hits a nice leapfrog then dropkicks him. He then hits a running SSP. Sha Samuels makes a fuss outside after Dar calls for him and Sha throws out the bellkeeper(?). NF goes up to the 2nd rope and Dar kicks him in the legs to knock him down. Dar hits some kicks to the chest and NF does a nice asai moonsault into an elbow slice. Sha distracts NF up top. NF goes for a move on Dar but the bell rings and Dar mocks him.

R4 - NF hits a hard shotgun dropkick to start the round. He takes a hard spinning back elbow for 2. Dar charges in and gets rolled up. NF tries for another asai into a slice but is caught with an ankle lock and tapped out to tie the score at 1-1.

R5 - They hit some hard forearms to start and Dar pops him in the mouth. Dar goes low and is almost pinned. NF does a twisting suplex for 2. Sha grabs NF's leg but he knocks him off and misses a spingboard to land on his back. Dar then enzugiri's him and wins it 2-1.

This was a good back and forth match. The action was so fast here without them doing too much. Obviously, Sha getting involved wasn't optimal but it was done well.

NF gets flipped off and mocked by Sha and Dar after.

We see Rampage Brown taking Gallus' ball again and him challenging Wolfgang.

Pretty Deadly did a promo. They say they are the best looking tag team there is. They said they knew from day one that they would get to the top and said they have descended to the top. PD said their reign of dominance is just beginning and they would be on top for a long time.

Trent Seven and Jack Starz were caught up with in the PC. Piper isn't here tonight and Jack is sad about it. Sam Gradwell then comes in. He said Trent gets involved in everything and says he is a founding father too just like Trent. He said Trent is over the hill and overrated and says he can see through him. He pokes him and Trent slaps him. People break it up and Sam yells about the truth always coming out and calls him a stupid man.

Levi Muir vs Mark Andrews

Subculture comes out with Andrews. Their name scrolls around the screen and Mark's whole entrance is in black and white.

They blow a snapmare escape early and Mark standing moonsaults him. Levi hits a nice powerslam and they trade strikes. Mark hits a running forearm then gets hit in the gut with a headbutt. Levi then slingshot suplexes him for 2.

Mark hits a forearm and chop combo and slides out of a lariat. Mark gets caught on a crossbody and Levi tries to slingshot suplex him, but he turns it into a cutter. Mark then tope's him into the rails. Mark hits an SSP onto Levi's back and wins it. Levi looked okay here and this wasn't so much of a squash but a short match.

Sid Scala is interviewed about a replacement tonight for Xia's spot in the gauntlet. Amale comes up and wants in and he says no. He says she will get another match when Xia is healed. Amale then goes off in French.

They show Amir Jordan losing to Kenny Williams last week. We see Amir being sent to the back.

A-Kid vs Tyler Bate for the Heritage Cup is next week. Sid Scala then holds a discussion with both guys.

A-Kid said his life is better since winning the Heritage Cup. Bate says the cup was made for him. Kid says the cup is his and Bate says it is for now. Bate says Kid is too sure of himself and doesn't have the experience. Bate says Kid may be the master of Heritage Cup rules matches, but has nothing on him.

Kid says he has always been chasing Bate and says now Bate is chasing him but Bate denies it. Bate says he is in his own lane and they shake hands. Bate was wearing near Jedi attire here.

Ilja Dragunov is on Supernova Sessions next week.

#1 Contender's Women's Gauntlet

Leg 1 - Isla Dawn vs Emilia McKenzie

Mckenzie(EM) takes her down early. EM does a nice little roll up then a nice twisting neckbreaker. Dawn comes back with a PK to the chest then drops double knees on her. She then suplexes her for 2. EM hits some forearms and an enzugiri then shotgun dropkicks her. EM then does her buckshot spear from the top and gets a close 2. Dawn comes back with a high kick and a half-dragon suplex to win. This was too short and McKenzie didn't need to take this loss, though neither did Isla.

Leg 2 - Isla Dawn vs Dani Luna

Dani facekicks her to start then does some nice gutwrenches. She then somewhat deadlift vertical suplexes her for 2. Dawn tries another high kick but takes a bad clothesline. Dani fallaway slams her and then hits a nice exploder for 2.

Dani spears the post when Isla moves and isla gets the win. Short but alright little leg here.

Leg 3 - Isla Dawn vs Meiko Satomura

Meiko takes Xia's place here and is a surprise. Isla dropkicks her as she tries to enter and throws her into the rails. Meiko hits a nice high kick on the inside and hits multiple chest kicks. Isla comes back with hard forearms then Meiko hits a pele kick for 2.

Meiko misses her cartwheel kick and takes some kick from Isla. Isla saito suplexes her then running meteora's her for 2. Isla hits a running knee to the chest and Meiko half moves on a double knee drop. She then does a cartwheel double knee to the back of Isla's head. Meiko ended up winning with a roll-up out of nowhere in a good leg here.

Leg 4 - Meiko Satomura vs Jinny with Joseph Conners

Jinny puts her in some holds to start and Meiko kicks her way out of it and they really work some basic holds here. They trade some big forearms and Meiko kicks her hard in the chest a few times. Meiko then spinning heel kicks her and STF's her. Conners gets on the apron and Meiko knocks him down then hits a death valley bomb. Meiko hits a shining axe kick for the win. This was an odd leg here. It was slow and very little happened leading up to the finish. It was oddly the weakest leg of the gauntlet.

I liked the gauntlet. Isla really shined as she looked good in 3 different matches.

Kay Lee Ray comes out after. She bows to Meiko and Meiko bows back but gets superkicked. Ray then says she is the champ here and no one will change it.

Overall thoughts: The main and the opener were pretty good and the Mark Andrews match was fine. As usual, it was a somewhat good show.
