NWA Power Episode #24 4/6/2021

NWA Power Episode #24 4/6/2021

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/03/nwa-power-episode-23-3302021.html

Kratos and Aron Stevens are on commentary here. They said since the episode is dedicated to tag teams, they are out here to seemingly scout.

Sal Rinauro goes up to Kyle Davis. He said he hasn't heard anything about the tag title shot Aron promised them last week. Aron didn't seem to know or care much about it and said he needs a partner.

The End (Parrow and Odison) vs Strictly Business (Thom Lattimer and Chris Adonis)

They hint that now Adonis is a member of Strictly Business. Thom and Parrow shoulder block each other and Odinson has weird white paint around his lips. Odinson suplexes Adonis then hits a nice dropkick on Thom. Thom is splashed and belly to belly suplexed. Odin then F-U's Parrow onto Odinson.

Adonis hits Parrow with a lariat on the outside. Back in and Parrow takes a missile dropkick from Thom. Parrow gets beat up on and Adonis goes for the masterlock but Parrow stunners out of it. Odinson gets the hot tag and takes control and back body drops Adonis. Everyone gets in and hits corner moves.

The End hits a super collider on their opponents. Masters gets put on Parrow's shoulders and Kamille comes out. During the distraction, Odinson gets pushed off the top hard onto the apron and Parrow gets a low blow from Adonis.  We go to split screen and Odinson gets put in the masterlock for the Adonis and Lattimer win. This was a fun big man match.

Thunder Rosa comes out to yell at Kamille

We go to a break with a Nick Aldis toy commercial.

Thunder Rosa then is interviewed by Kyle Davis. She yells in Spanish then Taryn Terrell comes out. She says she is debuting tonight and isn't challenging Rosa because she would beat her. She says if Rosa needs cheers from the sidelines, she is there for her.

Melina then comes out. She says Rosa doesn't need her and said if anyone is going to help Rosa, it will be her. Rosa said she doesn't want help from either and leaves.

Trevor Murdoch is interviewed in the back. He said being the national champ was the highlight of his career. He said Nick Aldis has taken something from him and he's coming for Aldis. I didn't like this one as it was just all over the place.

The War Kings (Jax Dane and Crimson) vs Slice Boogie and Matthew Mims

We got another heavyweight tag match here. Jax cheapshots Mims on the apron and Boogie talks Mims into getting in. Jax shoulders down Mims hard and Mims gets thrown on a suplex. Jax corner splashes Mims and Crimson exploders him.

Slice takes some corner charges and Jax throws shots at Mims. Mims takes a suplex then a Crimson 2nd rope elbow for 2. Jax is pulled off the apron by Slice and bangs his head off the apron. Jax is completely out and Crimson double clotheslines both opponents.

Crimson looks for Jax and is chop blocked by Slice, then Slice drops an elbow on him for 1. Crimson tries to fight off both opponents in the corner and is double suplexed. Crimson comes back with a spinebuster but nobody is there for the tag. Crimson hits a death valley driver on Mims as Jax is checked on. Crimson pulls Slice over the ropes and Mims gets a roll-up win.

I liked the story of Jax going down but they didn't need to do a roll-up and somewhat fluke win like they did here. It was 1v2 and totally believable for Crimson to lose without looking bad.

Nick Aldis is interviewed by Kyle Davis. He said the word has been going around that he might introduce Adonis as the new member of Strictly Business. He said that's not why he is here though. He said he knows the difference between good and great and good isn't good enough for him. He said when you come into the NWA, you live by the standard he sets.

He said Strictly Business is actively recruiting and says there could be multiple spots available in the group. He said nobodies position is guaranteed and invites anyone to get in touch with them.

The announcers debate over what Nick Aldis meant.

NWA Television Championship - The Pope vs Fred Rosser

6:05 time limit here. Pope has 2 defenses towards the 7 he needs to get an NWA title shot.

Fred evades Pope's uppercut early and Pope hiptosses him. Poke his an atomic drop and fist drops him. Pope misses a top rope crossbody and is speared. Fred running knees him in the gut and legdrops him. Pope neckbreakers Fred and we are at the 2 minute warning soon after.

Pope hits double punches to Fred and takes a fireman's carry into a gutbuster. Pope uppercuts Fred and hits a double running knee into the back and wins it with 20 seconds to spare. 6:05 was too short for this and I didn't think it was particularly special.

Austin Idol and Tyrus come out and mock clap for Pope. Pope then points to the crowd to the end the show.

Overall thoughts:
This was a short episode but it was decent and the NWA has a nice little roster despite being gutted.  The two tag matches were decent and the main was a little short.
