ICW Pitfighter X: Battle of the Tough Guys 4/8/2021
They
are fighting in a cage here with only a mat, no turnbuckles or ropes.
Dominic Garrini vs Kevin Ku
They traded submissions early and started slapping each other then
chopping each other. They flurry chops for forearms and Garrini won this
out of nowhere with a choke in a short but fun match
Daniel Garcia vs Brett Ison (ICW Pitfighter)
We
have a board, a chair and a kendo stick in the cage here. Ison won this
with a fisherman's buster through a chair. This was pretty good
actually. They worked the big man vs little man gimmick here with Garcia
doing moves he should have been doing and eventually resorting to using
weapons when the weight difference was too much. It went longer than it
needed to but Ison went through a table and Garcia used a kendo stick
to get out of a submission hold.
Shane Mercer and KTB vs Eric Ryan and Bobby Beverly (R SpringBreak)
I only saw some clips of this and this had someone going through a door and then a top rope fallaway slam for the finish.
Gary Jay vs Justin Kyle (ICW Pitfighter)
This
got off to a great start with them throwing some nice looking punches
and shots. Jay did a tornado ddt off the cage and death valley drivered
Kyle through a table. They had a door duel where they each nailed each
other with pieces of it. Jay then stiffed Kyle with a forearm and was
powerbombed through a door. Jay then went through another door and fell
through the cage door. Jay then took two powerbombs through a table and
the ref stopped it. Kyle didn't care and hit him with a door piece
after. This was great.
Calvin Tankman vs Jon Davis (ICW Pitfighter)
They
went to the mat early and were rolling around in table and door pieces.
They traded shots and Tankman was knocked down and they called the
match. Kind of a lame ending if you know what the deal is, but it makes
sense as an ending in kayfabe.
Dan Maff vs Bruce Santee (ICW Pitfighter)
Maff
is huge these days with some some of the biggest traps I've ever seen.
Bruce flurries Dan hard and out of he cage. Bruce hits a hard slap on
Maff and they trade chest chops and forearms. Maff hits a big punch and
takes down Bruce, then rushes at him into the cage. He then gets on top
with elbows and they stop it in a fun match.
Nolan Edward vs JD Drake (ICW Pitfighter)
JD
hits an awesome forearm flurry to start and kicks him hard while he is
on his knees. We got a bunch of chairs in the ring here and JD nails
Nolan with one in the injured arm. He then throws it right at his head.
JD chops him and chairs a chair on his arm. JD hangs him over his back
and strangles him with a towel. Then he powerbombs him through chairs
and slaps and chops him hard multiple times. JD takes a hard backdrop on
the mat floor and Nola hits a spinning forearm.
JD has his head
pushed into a chair then is headbutted for the win. The ending was a
little sudden and they got a little too cute at the end, but it was a
good match. JD then high kicks him after.
SHLAK vs Ruben Steel (ICW Pitfighter)
We
have a door, chairs, a barbed wire board and it looks like a board with
gusset plates in there. They start off charing each other and Shlak
goes into a barbed wire board. The board is on Shlak and Steel
cannonballs him. Steel is on Shlak's back and they go through the door.
The barbed wire is stuck to Shlak's clothes and he hits Steel with a
gusset plate 2v4. Steel hits him with a shoe with thumbtacks and the
tacks get stuck in Shlak's head. Shlak then gets a gusset plate stuck on
his arm and a chair thrown at his head. Shlak then suplexes him onto
chairs.
Shlak pounds a gusset plate into Steel but Steel kicks
out. Shlak rips gusset plates on Steel's head. They duel water jug
sticks and one of the jugs goes flying. Shlak then powerbombs him
through the gusset plate board. He then grabs a plastic bag and tries to
choke out Steel with it. Steel then ddt's him onto a barbed wire board
and wins it surprisingly. This was bloody and hardcore but I liked it.
Shlak then throws a chair at Steel before leaving.
John Wayne Murdoch vs Reed Bentley (ICW Pitfighter)
They've
got glass boards, a door, a trashcan, a wiffle ball bat with cut up
cans, a board with gusset plates, chairs and a table propped up by kegs.
They punch flurry to start and Reed gets a chair thrown at his
head. JWM gets saito suplexed on the mat and Reed is back dropped
through a piece of glass. Reed gets a gusset plate to the arm then they
stab each other with a knife. JWM gts slapped with a razor board and
Reed puts a razor on his head and arm. They go outside the cage and Reed
takes the bat with ripped up cans on it.
They literally go
outside the building and fight in the street. They trade forearms
outside and Reed goes into the cement wall. Reed gets his head banged
off the cement and they trade forearms on a bench. Reed says its too hot
out there and they go back inside. Reed takes some shots with the
barbed wire bat then JWM takes shots with the gusset plate bat.
JWM
takes a trashcan stick to the head then they duel kicking each other in
the head while laying down. Reed takes some trash can shots to the head
and is put on the keg table. JWM then suplexes him off it through
another table. Reed then comes back and piledrivers him on the keg table
which barely budges.
JWM gets a running elbow for 2 then Reed
forearms him through glass to win it. Obviously isn't wasn't a technical
classic and even as a deathmatch it wasn't that great or smart but it
was a nice change of pace.
Overall thoughts: The show got a little more and more hardcore as it went on but I really liked the shoot style matches they had and this ended up being a very fun show. They had a lot of legit looking guys here having somewhat realistic matches with a little hardcore madness thrown in.
