WWE 205 Live 3/5/2021

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/02/wwe-205-live-2262021.html

August Grey and Jake Atlas vs Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari

Ariya walks over Grey's back to start. Grey gets distracted by Ariya and almost gets rolled up for a pin. Grey escapes a double suplex and makes the tag to Atlas, who double clotheslines both. Atlas backdrops Ariya over the top from the apron and Nese fakes an injury so Ariya can knock Atlas off the top.

Ariya flurries on Atlas with punches and takes a big spinning lariat. Atlas puts both boots into Nese's face from the mat then Grey gets in and hurricanrana's Nese. Grey hits a hard lariat off the ropes on him and backflips him on a backdrop.

Nese hit a peach sunrise on Grey after an Ariya distraction then Atlas tope'd Ariya on the outside. Nese ran with Grey then hit a plancha on Atlas. Grey went up top and took a rolling palm stirke then Grey hit his "so much prettier" for the win. This wasn't too long and it was fine for what it was but the lack of time just limits what they can do.

Ariya was not happy with this loss.

Mansoor and Curt Stallion were interviewed. They said they need a tag team name. Curtsoor and Manstallion were suggested. Mansoor said he's up to 40-0 and Curt said none of those were against him. Curt made the challenge and Mansoor accepted.

They showed clips from NXT with LdF attacking Breezango and Escobar taking out Ever-Rise.

The Bollywood Boyz did a taped promo. They said Ever-Rise forgot they are a team. They said them getting jumped was not worthy of a Bollywood Award and said they should have called them.

Mansoor vs Curt Stallion

They went to the mat early and Mansoor worked a hammerlock. Curt ran the ropes and got tripped. Mansoor dropped down when Curt was running the ropes again and got lifted into a nice german suplex. Mansoor came off the ropes and caught Curt by suprise with a hard lariat.

Mansoor stretched out Curt and rolled through to keep the head and arm hold on. Mansoor went for sunset flip but took a double stomp to the chest. Curt then hit a neckbreaker over his knee and Curt did a delayed dropkick to Mansoor. He then hit a ddt into the bottom turnbuckle which was cool. Mansoor came back with a double underhook bomb and Curt was out. Curt recovered and headbutted Mansoor out. Curt then hit a plancha on him and splatted him on the floor. Curt then came back in and Mansoor got his knees up on Curt's top rope frogsplash.

Mansoor's head was trapped against the top rope and Curt headbutted him then they did a reverse spanish fly... which of course wasn't the finish. Curt charged at him and took a turnbuckle to the face then Mansoor did a slingshot neckbreaker for the win to go to 41-0. They did too much here but they really did go all out here for this and I appreciated that. These two dudes really took some abuse here.

The two stared down but shook hands after.

Overall thoughts: They squeezed in as much as they could here but as usual, it's 205 Live and just not a must see show due to only having 30 minutes. I think some people would really get into that Mansoor/Curt match though.
