Impact Wrestling 3/16/2021

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/03/impact-wrestling-392021.html

Sacrifice 2021 is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/03/impact-wrestling-sacrifice-2021-3132021.html

We started off with some clips from Sacrifice.

FinnJuice (David Finlay and Juice Robinson) vs Team XXXL (Larry Dallas and Acey Romero)

Finn hits some punches on Larry to start and Larry takes a double dropkick and double bulldog. They double club Acey and Acey comes back with a crossbody taking both down. Acey rolls into Juice's legs to knock him down then rolls on his back to steamroller him.

Finlay gets the hot tag in and John Woo's Larry. He evade's Acey, and Acey sentons Larry. Acey takes a double dropkick then Larry takes a double flapjack. Finlay then hits an acid drop on Larry and wins it in a quick and fast paced match.

The Good Brothers come out. Karl said he and Doc weren't prepared for their title match at the PPV, hence why they lost. They said they wanted a rematch and FinnJuice said they would give them it. They said they would have to wait until April though after their Japan tour and called them young boys. Doc and Karl then attacked and FinnJuice escapes.

Sami Callihan did a video with his head on a computer screen. He said Trey Miguel lacks passion. He said he would make an example of him tonight.

The Good Brothers went up to D'Amore in the back. They weren't happy FinnJuice is going back to Japan. Scott said there wasn't anything he could do about it, saying they shouldn't have lost. He said they would be back though at Rebellion and they would have a rematch then.

Tommy Dreamer walked in. He said we have a mess here as now we don't have tag titles here. Scott said they are working with New Japan and that's the break of co-promotion. Scott said we could just run a company into the ground though like Tommy did with ECW. Scott said we have Hardcore Justice coming up and Tommy should book the card. Tommy said he had a card set-up already and showed him it. D'Amore said he will be commissioner for the evening. Hardcore Justice will be on the same night as the first night of Wrestlemania which is a very risky idea.

Rhyno with Violent by Design vs Jake Something with James Storm and Chris Sabin

Rhyno joined VbD at the PPV. Rhyno has control early. Jake starts to make a comeback and Deaner gets on the apron and get sinto it with Storm. Storm then gets choked by Doering and Rhyno gores Jake for the win in a short one. The two groups then fight in the ring with Rhyno hitting spears on everyone. Vbd stands tall to end the segment.

Kaleb and Tenille Dashwood are in the back. Tenille wants to name her team tonight "Tenille Dashwood and the Followers". Deonna P. doesn't like it and says they need to make a team plan instead of a team name. Deonna wants to call the shots and then Tasha Steelz interrupts and they argue.

Rohit Raju vs Shera

Raju sneak attacks Shera to start. Shera hits a vicious blue thunder/powerbomb type of move. Raju comes back, rubbing Shera's eyes on the ropes. Raju works the arm a little but Shera fires up and hits a couple of clotheslines. Raju comes back with a pump kick and a nice flying knee. Raju cannonballs him in the corner. He then comes off the top and gets caught with a chokeslam over the knee. Raju kicks out. Shera misses a corner spear and Raju puts his feet on the ropes to pin him in another short match. This was fine.

Wille Mack congratulated Rich Swann on his title win at the PPV. He said they need to celebrate. Swann said it's not the time to party and said he has to take care of business in the ring.

Rich Swann came out to talk. He was very happy about his double title win. He said he partied on Saturday and Sunday but now he's got Kenny Omega on his back. He said we would see who the real world champion is and who the best wrestler in the world is at the next PPV against Omega in the title for title match

Don Callis then came out. He said he was proud of him and wanted him to be here. He said he is his guy and he fought for him. He said he moved onto Kenny Omega like when someone moves onto a nicer car. He said Rich is a superstar but Omega is a god. He said Swann made history at Sacrifice, but will be a part of history at Rebellion when he loses. This was a really good promo but the problem is, everything Callis said is right and Swann probably will lose.

Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone then shilled Dynamite.

Eddie Edwards and Cardona were talking then Brian Myers walked in. Myers waned to know why Cardona paid off Hernandez. He said Impact was going to be his chance to do this alone without Cardona for the first time in years and said Cardona stole this. Then he told him to leave him alone. He actually made a pretty good case there.

Deonna Purrazzo, Kimber Lee, Susan, Tenille Dashwood & Fire ‘N Flava (Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz) w/ Kaleb with a K vs. Jordynne Grace, Jazz, ODB, Havok, Nevaeh & Alisha

Alisha goes after Tenille to start and Tenille hits her with the noogie. Alisha then gives her a stink face and ODB bronco buster's her.  Kimber got took a split then was neckbreakered by Neveah. Kimber got put on Havok's knee and then Neveah lariated her over. Everyone came in and hit something then someone replaced them.

Tasha and Grace traded punches then they dived on everyone outside. We went to break and returned. We were told the action was crazy during the break, so of course we didn't see it. Alisha and Susah both crossbody each other at the same time. Jordan comes in and beats up on Kimber and hits a driver on her. Kaleb takes a picture of Susan choking Neveah and Deonna exploders Neveah. We went back into another stretch of everyone hitting something and leaving. Kimber then misses a high kick and Jazz tapes her with the STF.

There were too many people involved here for this to be any good.

Ace Austin was interviewed in the back. He said all is right in Impact once again as he is champ. Ace bragged aboud his win at the PPV then Josh Alexander and Chris Bey came in. The two argued over who was at the front of the line then TJP came in. Ace told TJP he was at the back of the line. TJP told Ace he talked to D'Amore and will get a rematch next week.

Sami Callihan vs. Trey Miguel

Trey goes right after Sami and they trade jumping strikes. They brawl out onto the ramp Trey tries some kind of reverse 619 through the ropes to Sami who is outside, but he gets caught and is put in the boston crab on the floor. We og to a long break and return. Trey gets thrown out to the floor. Sami puts his foot through the ring post and kicks it.

Sami wrist throws Trey into the buckles and works his ankle. Sami puts Trey in a boston crab on the buckles which was cool and Trey walked up the buckles to enzugiri him. Trey springboards but lands on his ankle and takes a rip chord clothesline. We return from another long break and the two are trading shots. Trey hits a jumping cutter and Sami comes back with a slingshot twisting neckbreaker. Trey hits a twisting neckbreaker for 2.

Trey puts him in a grounded submission but Sami bites his way out. Sami folding powerbombs Trey and rolls him into a boston crab then an STF. On the floor, Trey runs up the stairs and sitting springboards off the bottom rope onto a cutter on Sami on the floor.  Trey then gets pushed into the steps. Sami hits some slaps and Trey came back with a lightning spiral.

Trey goes up top and yells at the ref to move, as the announcers say he is unraveling. Sami then package piledrivers him for the win.

This was not any good at all. Trey showed very little here and just didn't have any fire.

Overall thoughts: This wasn't anything special with a lot of the matches being short and nothing really standing out. Don Callis' promo was the highlight of the night.
