Colega Pro Wrestling Saturday Night Rising Stars 3/6/2021

Colega is The Bodyguard's promotion. They stream constantly on youtube for free and have a pretty nice set-up. They usually have some good names and I have no idea how they make any money off of  this.

Billy Ken Kid & Ultimate Spider Jr. vs. Strong Hearts (CIMA & Issei Onizuka)

Not too much happens early. Cima mocks Spider and gets the early edge on him. Spider gets worked over by the Hearts and Cima puts him in a Fujiwara armbar as Issei patrols. After getting beat down for a while, Spider comes back with a dropkick and tags out. Billy has his opponents in both corners and sweeps Cima, so he dropkicks his partner. Billy then does a bronco buster drop onto boh opponents.

Billy hops onto the middle rope outside and flips on the Hearts. Cima rolls out of a sunset flip and double stomps Billy. Spider gets in there and missile dropkicks Issei from the top for a 2 counter. He goes for something but gets caught in a side spinebuster then takes a spear at 10 minutes.

Spider gets a surprise superkick and a cutter but Issei kicks out. Spider then hits a falcon arrow and wins it. Despite a lot of the guys being flyers there wasn't too much flying to be had here and the first half was pretty slow.

SAKI vs Momoka Hanazono

Momoka runs on Saki's stomach and then gets slammed. Saki then picks her up and giant swings her. Saki then puts her in the rocking chair. Saki runs at Momoka and gets a flying armbar but hits the ropes.

Momoka hits dual top rope crossbodies then gets suplexed. Saki hits a running boot to the face for 2 then Vader bombs her for another close nearfall. Momoka reverses a pumphandle slam then gets put in a high boston crab and single leg crab but makes it to the ropes.

Saki argues with the ref and gets dropkicked into him then Momoka  ends up dropkicking the ref through the ropes. Momoka goes for the pin but the ref is down then Saki reverses a pin attempt for the win. The match was fine up until the ref bump which was unnecessary.

The Bodyguard vs. Daimonji So (w/Yuki Tanaka)

So comes with some weapons and fails on a shot with a yellow  sign. Body then nails him with the sign. Body hits some bad chest clubs and hits him with the sign again. Then he drops a leg on So with the sign on him.

So then grabs a resistance cable and beats Body with it then chokes him with a stick. So's buddy Tanaka just walks right into the ring and So slams him on Body. Body starts to fight back after getting with a ladder but gets choked with a rope.

So then hits him with a fallaway slam at 5 minutes. They bring a guard rail in and So slams a chair down on it while it's on Body. Body throws So into the ladder that is between the ropes then nails both So and Tanaka with the sign. Body hits a single rope elbow drop on him for 2. Tanaka puts a cover over the ref's head while So beats Body with the sign. Spider comes in to save Body and helps out the ref. So then takes another sign shot to the head and Body wins it with a camel clutch.

This was a long and pretty lame match with weak weapons shots that nobody got DQ'd for.

Andy Wu vs. El Lindaman

Wu dropkicks Linda to start and they trade forearms. Wu hurricanrana's Linda but he cartwheels out of it and heaadscissors him out. Then he does a flip dive on him.

Back in and Linda goes for Wu's mask. Linda goes up top and Wu handstands off the 2nd rope and hurricanrana's him down. Wu then cartwheels off the top rope and superkicks Linda.

Linda puts Wu on the 2nd rope and neckbreakers him. Linda goes for a frogsplash from the top and misses and they trade pinfall attempts. Wu hits a high kick but Issei gets on the apron to distract the ref. Linda then rips off Wu's mask and pins him. Then he poses with the maskless Wu before Billy Ken Kid stops it.

The action wasn't bad before the dirty finish. This was a pretty short match and combined with the dirty finish it had no chance of being anything special.

Dylan James vs Ryouji Sai

They wrestle on the mat early. James looks a lot smaller than he used to. They collide on a dual lariat attempt and the spit flies before Sai goes down. Sai gets beaten up for a bit and Yuki Tanaka from earlier is at ringside distracting the ref. Daimonji So also comes down.

Sai hits a nice brainbuster on James but James comes back wit ha corner lariat and an abdominal stretch. Sai gets out of it then takes a lariat. Sai throws salt in a Quaker Oats box that Tanaka gave him and wins it soon after.

This was far from either guys best work and the dirty finish sucked.

Overall thoughts: While I did skip one match this wasn't good. It was a bunch of short matches with often dirty finishes and shenanigans with nobody putting out their best effort.
