WWE Monday Night Raw 2/15/2021
We start off with MizTV. Nothing gets me hyped for a show like a talking segment.
MizTV with Drew McIntyre
Miz talked about Drew getting backstabbed by Sheamus. Drew got mad and tired of all of this and told Miz to shut up. Drew said he would speak and if Miz interrupted him, he would regret it. Miz did, then he took a headbutt and Drew threw his MITB case to end the segment. Miz called Drew "Andy" throughout all of this and blamed his reaction on Elimination Chamber pressure.
Miz again teased that he might or might not cash in his MITB briefcase. Miz said he wants every champ in WWE to know he might cash in and he wants to pressure all of them. Miz then said "Edge wants to talk high stakes poker?" then said he is removing himself from the Elimination Chamber match. This was a dumb idea and made less sense since he called himself a strategic master during this segment. A good strategist would want 2 chances to get the title, not one. And if the chamber match he isn't involved in is first, he could try to cash in on that one then compete in his if the cash-in failed.
Riddle said Happy President's Day and asked who their favorite Presidents are. He said Harrison Ford was his favorite president...Lince said Dorada can't just pick one, then they did a handshake. I have no idea what this was about.
Riddle and Lucha House Party vs The Hurt Business
Lashley was watching in the back. Lince did a high snapmare then a moonsault to nothing. Metallik climbed on Lince's shoulders for a splash then did a springboard back elbow. LHP got stopped on dives by THB. Metallik did a great sell on a shoulderblock then got triple teamed in the corner. Metallik did a back roll into a cool spinning DDT, then Riddle came in with a hot tag. He cleared out THB but MVP came back and then hit the ballin' elbow.
C-A hit a great lumbar check on Metallik and Lince did a springboard dive. Riddle then hit a floating bro on MVP to win. This was an action packed match like usual and these guys always work well together. Lashley then came out and cleared out the faces, throwing one of LHP onto the other then putting the full nelson on Riddle.
Miz thanked Pearce for the EC spot. He said he wants to give back and wanted to give an up and comer his spot. He said John Morrison should be the one to take his spot. Pearce said he would promise to take it into consideration and had a "I'm shocked"face the whole time.
Mandy Rose was flirting with Bad Bunny, then Damian Priest and Bad Bunny were interviewed. Before they said anything Tozawa pinned R-Truth for the 24/7 title. Priest threw Tozawa into boxes then BB pinned him to win the 24/7 title. Truth then yelled nonsense. The New Day didn't like Miz maybe being able to replace himself for the Chamber. Kofi said he was a former champ and should be in consideration. Miz came in and said he and Pearce have this settled. Pearce disagreed and said Miz should face Kofi to see if Morrison can get in or not. This was stupid. You can't pick your replacements and everyone should be out there with Pearce arguing to get into the Chamber if that's all it takes.Charlotte Flair and Asuka vs Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans with Ric Flair
Lacey did a promo on her way to the ring. She said Ric thinks she is ready to win the title. She then said she had a candy for Charlotte that had "bite me" written on it. Lacey said Asuka would be giving her the title on Sunday.
We went to break then the match started.
Royce was thrown into the buckles and Evans gave Royce advice. Charlotte called for Lacey. Flair and Asuka did double team chops to Royce. Royce hi a nice jumping high kick on Asuka and pounded on her. Both girls knocked each other down with clotheslines. Charlotte did a bad fallaway slam/exploder on Royce and banged her head off the table.
Evans was tagged in and started walking away. She grabbed the mic and said she was pregnant. Ric was thrilled about this yelling "call me daddy" as Charlotte was not happy. Ric danced and the match just ended. This was a waste of time and this whole story is going to suck.
Sheamus was interviewed. He said he shouldn't have to fight in the gauntlet tonight or the Chamber since Drew accepted his challenge already. He said he will win the gauntlet and the Chamber though. He said he will wait for them to beat each other up and then win easy.
Winner gets to choose a wrestler for the Elimination Chamber - Kofi Kingston with Xavier Woods vs The Miz
Not too much happened early then Kofi hit a top rope chop. Kofi then did a double axe handle onto Miz from the second rope. Kofi was thrown into the buckles but did a springboard off them into a dropkick. Kofi went after Miz through the ropes on the apron but was caught, the neckbreakered on the ropes then onto the floor.
We went to break and we came back, Miz hit a hard ddt onto Kofi. Miz banged Kofi off the table and the barricades then double axe handled him off the top. Kofi missed a corner splash and was kicked in the face. Miz ran off the ropes and Kofi caught him in a single leg M. Bison stomp. Kofi hit his boom drop then hit an SOS for 2. Kofi did a springboard twisting dive off the top for 2. Miz caught his leg in the ropes injuring it then did a figure four to him. Not long after, Kofi hit a trouble in paradise kick out of nowhere for the win. This wasn't that good.
Lana and Naomi were interviewed. Lana said she gave her all last week and maybe won due to luck. She said Naomi was her lucky charm. Naomi said Nia deserved to go through that table and they made "hole" jokes.
Randy Orton did a promo. He said he has unfinished business with Drew. He said he would win the gauntlet tonight and will do whatever it takes. He said winning will be hard then said The fiend is no more after he lit him on fire. He said his sights are set on the WWE title. Then he said he will be in the ring not with 5 opponents, but with 5 victims.Alex Bliss then cut in through a video. Her eyes were looking weird. She dropped dust around and said The Fiend will be reborn. Then she was sitting in a circle with a star in it with candles and was laughing.
Lana with Naomi vs Shayna Baszler with Nia Jax
Shayna cranked back Lana's arm then pulled on her leg while she kneeled her on her head. Shayna put her leg in a figure four and cranked the neck. Lana tried some high kicks but was swatted down. Lana dove off the top onto Baszler for 2 then the two traded high kicks. Nia and Naomi fought on the outside with Naomi getting thrown into the rails. Naomi slipped out of a move and kicked her into the post. Shayna tried to get involved and was rolled up for 2. Shayna then hit her with a knee and put her in the grounded choke for the win. Not good.
Gauntlet Match - Winner gets the last entry in the Elimination Chamber
Kofi Kingston vs AJ Styles is first. AJ should win since Kofi already fought. AJ dove on Kofi in the corner but Kofi moved. AJ backdropped him. AJ got a kick on Kofi's leg which was injured earlier and then ended up going over the top after Kofi pulled the rope down. Kofi then did a springboard back splash onto AJ on the outside as Woods played the trumpet. Omos grabbed him by the throat and chokeslammed him over the barricade. The ref then kicked out Omos and while that happened, AJ chopblocked Kofi as we went to break.
Kofi hit an SOS but his leg was hurting. Kofi went up top and dropped his body onto AJ's back. Kofi went for a dropkick or something and AJ attacked his leg. AJ hit a phenomenal forearm to eliminate Kofi.
Drew McIntyre vs AJ Styles is up next. Drew runs over AJ to start then does a giant release belly to belly. AJ took a few boots to the face then we went to break. AJ was thrown into the steps and then rolled over them. Drew then michinoku drivered him for 2. Drew did a reverse alabama slam to AJ and went for a claymore but was hit with a nice dropkick. AJ got him outside and dove on him with a forearm. AJ then dove off the apron with a forearm onto him.
Back in after break and Drew did another great release belly to belly suplex. Drew came off the top but was hit with an enzugiri. AJ hit a surprise calf crusher but Drew headbutted out of it. AJ was whiplashed into the middle rope then hit with a nice claymore kick for the Drew win. This was pretty good with the two working well together.
Drew hit a future shock DDT for 2 and Hardy rolled out only to get suplexed on the floor. They fought up top and Hardy took a superplex for 2. Hardy evaded a claymore kick and hit a twist of fate. Hardy went for a swanton bomb but Drew got his knees up. Jeff then took a claymore kick and Drew won it.Orton vs Drew is next up. Orton bangs Drew's head off the steps but is thrown into the barricades. Alexa Bliss takes over the video monitors with an evil laugh and Orton gets counted out. Drew then claymore kicks him as he tries to get back in.
Sheamus vs Drew is the final match of this. Sheamus attacks Drew from behind and throws Drew over the barricade. Drew then gets thrown into the post. Drew is asked if he wants to keep going or quit and Drew of course wants to continue. Sheamus pounds on him and kneels on him. Sheamus clubs Drew's chest and stretches his arm. Drew tries to go up and over but is slammed down. Drew comes back with a future shock ddt. Drew forearms Sheamus off the apron and bangs his head off the post.
They go back in and Sheamus takes an overhead belly to belly suplex and a spinebuster. Sheamus is whipped into the ropes and wins it with a brogue kick. Sheamus had to win here but I thought Drew got too much in for wrestling in three matches prior.
Overall thoughts: Like most weeks, The Bliss and Ric Flair angles sucked. The whole idea of Miz giving up his Chamber spot made no sense, but there was some good wrestling to be had.
