WWE 205 Live 1/15/2021

I reviewed last week's show with pics and gifs here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/01/wwe-205-live-182021.html

We went had a package on some of the teams in the Dusty Classic.

Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic First Round: Legado del Fantasma - Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza vs. The Bollywood Boyz

The crowd is into the BB's entrance and Nigel does the BB dance as usual. Sunil and Raul start out. Sunil takes a shoulderblock and then lariats Raul over the top. Back in and the BB's do double team elbows to Raul. Samir hits a bunch of armdrags to Raul. Samir and Wilde go at it and Wilde takes a double hiptoss. Samir double axe handles Wilde's arm and evades a lariat on the apron from Raul.

Raul lariats Samir in the corner and his team double suplexes Samir. Samir gets thrown to the outside and then gets his head bashed off the table. Wilde throws Samir into the corner chest first. Samir messes up a spot and Raul takes a wild spear into the post.

Sunil gets in and backdrops Raul then spinning heel kicks him. He then knocks Wilde off the apron and bashes his head off the table, along with Raul's. Sunil double axe handle's Raul and then holds up Raul so Samir can back elbow him off the 2nd rope. Samir and Raul fight up top. Samir hits a superplex and Sunil hits a top rope elbow, but Raul saves his partner from the pin. Raul hits a driver then electric chair's Wilde into a la silla onto Sunil. They hit a russian leg sweep flying kick combo then they grab the win to advance. This wasn't anything too special and they really didn't do as much as you would expect.

Dain takes down a drawing of the two on the wall. Dain and Drake get ready in the back and Drake copies Dain. Drake got new music and wants Dain to do the dance if they win and he disagrees.

They did a promo for the Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic First Round: Killian Dain & Drake Maverick vs. Curt Stallion & August Grey

Dain is certainly not 205. I'm not sure if he could even make 305 Live(and man do we ever need that), but that's OK. I'm pretty sure whoever wins this loses against MSK since they are new and shouldn't be losing unless it's a screwjob.

Drake jams out to their music and Dain moves them along. Drake then hops on Dain's back. Dain's starpower has really diminished as he looked like an easy WWE main eventer at one point in time. We only have about 7 minutes for this. Curt runs the ropes and Drake throws him out. Curt rushes back in and gets thrown out the other end as Drake struts. Drake hits a hiptoss, a leg lariat and an armdrag. Grey gets in and Drake tags out.

Grey gets thrown back by Dain then shouldered down. Grey tries to crossbody Dain but hits the wall and drops down. Drake trips Grey and then Dain sentons him and slams Drake on him. Dain picks up Drake and swings his feet into his opponents. Curt and Grey punch combo Dain but get suplexed at the same time by him. Dain tells Drake to dive on them as they go outside but Drake tells Dain to do it. They argue over who will do it and Dain hiptosses Drake on his opponents.

Grey leads over Drake and he gets nailed by Curt. Grey slaps on a chinlock. Drake fights out of the corner and takes in Dain. Dain hits some clotheslines on Grey, hiptosses Curt in and double clotheslines both opponents. Dain belly to belly's Grey, then splashes both opponents in the corners. Then he John Woo's Grey into Curt. Curt charges at Dain on the ropes and gets a rock bottom then Dain crossbodies Grey. Curt falls into a backcracker and Grey does a cool slam on Drake. Dain then sentons Grey. Grey superkicks Drake into a german from Curt. Drake 2v1's his opponents with punches then gets clubbed.

Dain pops up curt into the corner then Drake jumps over Dain into a crossbody on Grey. Dain then powerbombs Drake onto Curt for the win.

Fun match with Dain basically 2v1'ing the other team and using Spud as a weapon. It did bury Curt and Grey though as they couldn't do anything on Dain.

Overall thoughts: They only have a half hour to work with and did the best they could. The opener could have been a little better but the second match was good.
