NJPW Road To The New Beginning 2021 Day 1 1/17/2021

I am just doing selected matches here. There's three days of this and I don't think there's one match out of the three days that actually looks important. 

CHAOS (Hirooki Goto, Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii) vs. BULLET CLUB (Dick Togo, EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi)

Yujiro bites Goto's hand early and gets shoulderblocked for it. Ishii and Togo evade each other's moves early. Yujiro gets thrown in the hard way by Goto and Okada then gets triple team clubbed in the back. Evil hits Okada in the gut with a chair on the outside.

Ishii gets stepped on in the corner by the 3 BC members. BC removes the buckle and Evil tries to throw Ishii in, but he saves himself and Evil tastes the steel instead. Okada comes in and wipes out Togo and Evil, then Yujiro with a boot. Okada gets his boot caught by Evil, who flings it into the ref then superkicks Okada into the gut. Okada gets tripped by Togo and ends up flapjacking him after a failed 2v1 attack. Goto hits Yujiro with a forearm to knock him off the apron and takes a hard surprise lariat by Evil. Everyone charges in on Goto in the corner and Goto gets suplexed for 2. Everyone gets in and Yujiro takes an Ishii release german suplex, then Goto does a death valley driver onto his knee on Togo. Goto then does a slice on Togo over his knee to win it. 

This was short and didn't have too much to it due to so many people being involved.

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi & Tomoaki Honma vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (SANADA, Shingo Takagi & Tetsuya Naito)

Tana back elbows and does a crossbody off the 2nd rope onto Shingo early. Tana and Honma both try to drop headbutts onto Shingo, but Shingo moves. Everyone goes outside and Shingo attacks Tana on the rail and runs his back into the apron.

Back in and Sanada puts Tana in the paradise lock as Shingo holds down Tana by the hair, then he dropkicks Tana in the butt. Naito then puts Tana in a grounded cravate. Shingo and Tana trade forearms and Tana evades a dragon screw, only to nail Shingo with one of his own.

Kota and Sanada get in and Kota hits his kick combo then a standing moonsault for 2. Sanada dropkicks Kota's knee, sending him out, then plancha's him. Back in and Ibushi hits a sliding chest kick to Sanada and Sanada does a cool flip reversal into a dragon sleeper. Ibushi headkicks him though right after.

Honma hits some forearms on Sanada then bulldogs him. He goes for a falling headbutt but Sanada moves and tags out. Naito almost submits Honma with an armbar over the neck and Honma hits Naito with some forearms. Naito botches a destino and they fall into the corner and Tana hits a slingblade on Naito. Honma hits a headbutt onto Naito then misses a top rope headbutt. Honma and Naito botch another move and LIJ hits a double dropkick on Honma. Shingo does a big lariat onto Tana on the apron and Naito wins with a destino. Honma was hurt or something was they really botched the end sequence. This wasn't anything special and the end really brought it down.

Master Wato and SHO vs Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI and Hiromu Takahashi)

Wato gets irish whipped and face kicks Hiromu off the apron. He then hits a back elbow and spinkick combo on Bushi before being tripped. Hiromu then quickly does a sunset bomb to Sho on the apron. Hiromu and Wato trade some strikes and then do it again. Hiromu then baseball slide dropkicks Sho in the face.

Wato does some kind of flying kick or knee to Bushi. Bushi and Hiromu hiptoss Wato but catch him and flip him back over onto his stomach. Wato hits a big dropkick onto Hiromu and gets Sho in. Sho kick combo's Hiromu and then hits a spear on him for 2. Sho deadlift suplexes Hiromu. Hiromu tries to hurricanrana him but he catches it then Hiromu catches his spear. Hiromu then hits him with a superkick.

Sho ducks a Hiromu shot and comes back with a forearm, then they trade forearms for a while. They both tag out and Wato hits a kick combo on Bushi. Wato springboards onto Bushi with a euro uppercut and then eats a DDT. Bushi hits a missile dropkick and spins up to his feet, then Wato downs him with a neckbreaker. Wato goes up top and Hiromu knocks him off. Wato gets hung over the top rope and Bushi runs the middle rope to dropkick him, then he DDT's him as he hangs over the middle rope. Wato hits a trouble in paradise kick on Bushi. Bushi does a canadian destroyer to Wato and Sho breaks it up for 2.

Bushi sunset flips Hiromu into a german on Wato, then they suplex him into a powerbomb. Wato then took the win with a surprise pining combination. Not a bad match at all here with them actually doing a decent bit of stuff for a house show and lots of time for everyone to work with each other.
