All Japan Pro Wrestling 4/13/1997 - Akira Taue vs Gary Albright
|
The finish |
They do some amateur wrestling to start. Albright rolls him. He then takes him down and grabs an arm. Taue chops him out though. Taue hits a clothesline that looks like it would be done by an old man. Taue gets pounded on by Gary. Taue then boots him in the face and hits an enzugiri. Albright slams him on the outside and rams him back into the post. Albright squashes him then pulls Taue leg up before hitting an STF like move. Gary then hits a grounded cobra clutch on him. They get to the ropes and Gary vertical suplexes him down, then catches him in a slow belly to belly. Taue hits a bad looking chokeslam. Gary goes for a dragon suplex, but Taue arm throws him out of it. Taue then hits another bad chokeslam and a better one for 2. Taue then hits a nice running and jumping yakuza kick for the win. It was indeed the styles clash I was looking for. I think this would have been better if they had more than the 8:18 they got and if Gary would have bumped for Taue's chokeslams.
