Last week's show is here: http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2013/05/wwe-saturday-morning-slam-542013.html
This was taped when WWE was in The United Kingdom.
We cut to the back with Mick Foley and Santino Marella fooling around.
Santino said The Cobra and Socko should form a band to take on 3MB.
Jinder took offense to all of this. Mick Foley said since it appears there will be a lot of time until 3MB's album comes out, Jinder can fight Santino today on SMS. Foley said Jinder will be making his debut as a solo act as 3MB is banned from ringside.
Alicia Fox is your random Saturday Morning Slam commentator of the week.
Santino Marella vs Jinder Mahal
"Oh My God, that's a Boris Bike!." - Alicia Fox |
"Well, I have never heard the music of 3MB but if I were to say what it would sound like, it would sound like the bootleg version of Hanson." - Alicia Fox |
Santino Marella got the win with The Cobra. The match was mostly comedy as you would expectand was your basic Santino match with him getting beaten early then making his big comeback.
Mick Foley met Sheamus backstage.
They sang Danny Boy until Randy Orton appeared.
Then Sheamus left.
Randy Orton and Sheamus vs The Prime Time Players
They edited out the "I taste blood that's dryin'" part of Orton's theme amongst other parts. Even Orton looked surprised when this happened. They also edited out Sheamus' theme where it said "straight to hell".
"Who has time to rhinestone a pick?" - Alicia Fox on Darren Young |
They showed a replay of a cutaway spot during the break. They told us to listen, since we obviously couldn't see it. Only on SMS ladies and gentlemen.
Randy Orton got the win with a RKO. This was fine. It was mostly all squash though and nothing special. Alicia Fox was funny though in the way she ripped apart the PTP's.
Saturday Morning Slam will not be on at 10:30 AM next week as they will be showing a double-shot of DBZ. Will it be on at all? I don't know, but I hope it is. What I do know is that there is some footage that hasn't been used yet. They originally showed some scene with Josh Mathews being tied up when they changed the format around and that scene hasn't been shown.
Overall thoughts: This could possibly be the last edition of Saturday Morning Slam since next week it will not be on. It could just be for one week but it would seem odd to not have it on; The show was fine. The skits were at least okay and the matches were fine for what they were. This wasn't a great edition but like usual, it was a perfectly harmless edition of Saturday Morning Slam.
