New Japan Pro Wrestling 10/6/2025 Road To King Of Pro-Wrestling 2025 Day 2

Hiroshi Tanahashi & Katsuya Murashima vs. El Phantasmo & Jado

Tana and ELP chant for each other. Tana wristlocks him and ELP reverses it. ELP headflips out and side headlocks him. Tana punches him in the gut. ELP 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him. They pretend to play with air guitars and air drums. Everyone then gets in on it.

Jado backs KM up on the ropes. KM chops him and is shouldered over. Jado forearms him in the spine. ELP slams and 2nd rope elbow drops KM. KM suplexes him. Tana flying forearms ELP then slams him. Tana 2nd rope swantons him for 2. 

Tana dropkicks him in the knee then ELP does the same. Tana dragon screws ELP then slingblades him. Tana takes a handspring kick then ELP top rope moonsaults him outside. Tana takes kicks from both opponents then a Jado lariat for 2. KM running shoulders ELP over. Jado is slapped by Tana then powerslammed by KM. Tana top rope frogsplashes Jado and pins him.

Thoughts: It wasn't that serious. Tana and ELP fooled around a bit before fighting and there wasn't a lot to it. KM didn't get much time in this one.

House Of Torture (SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney)

DM has an RIP Sanada shirt on. DM dropkicks Sanada through the ropes and they brawl outside.  YK is choked with a chair and San's head is banged off the sign in the stands. DM rams San's back into the apron then Clark pounces YK into the apron. CC tries to hit YK with his tire. CC is sent into the post then his knee is banged off the floor. 

YK dropkicks CC in the knee then yanks the leg. CC's legs are split in the ring. YK elbows CC in the face. DM tries to come in and has the rope kicked into his crotch. CC no sells YK's boots then hits punches. YK dropkicks him in the knee then kneebreakers him. CC powerslams him. 

DM is tagged in and kicks the rope into San's crotch. DM clubs San's chest. DM spinebusters San. San grabs the ref to avoid a move. San is chopped and he drops down on it and kicks DM in the nuts. San brings a guitar in. DM hits him in the crotch and swings the guitar at him. San then goes into the stands and gets himself counted out.

Thoughts: It was all cheating and weapons shot attempts here without much else. San getting something counted out was dumb.

DM then wonders what Sanada was doing on the mic after. He says he ran away today but can't do it at Sumo Hall. He says you can't run from him. DM says it will be no DQ so Sanada can't run or break rules.

Kuukai, Oleg Boltin, Tiger Mask & Toru Yano vs. House Of Torture  (Dick Togo, Don Fale, EVIL & SHO)

Oleg comes in and goes after the heels. Everyone fights. Oleg hits chops on Evil. Evil chokes him with his shirt. Oleg corner splashes Evil then belly to belly suplexes him. Oleg double suplexes the heels. 

Yano comes in and takes off a turnbuckle pad. He then runs into Fale. Yano hits forearms and takes one. Yano hits Fale in the back of the head then Fale shoulders him over. Evil hits oleg with a chair outside and chokes him with it. Fale stands on Yano's back.

Sho wristlocks Yano and sends him into the exposed buckle. Togo fist drops Yano. Yano tries to pull Togo's hair but he has no hair. Yano atomic drops Togo. Kuu comes in and dropkicks the heels. Kuu armdrags Togo then 2nd rope armdrags him. Kuu bulldogs Togo.

Togo punches Kuu in the face. Kuu does a headscissors + armdrag takeover. Kuu superkicks Sho. Tiger gets in and spin kicks Sho. Tiger flips forward and double kicks Sho. Sho tries a battering ram on Oleg but just falls down. Oleg then karelin's lifts him. Tiger double underhook suplexes Sho and does a kimura off of it.

Togo breaks it up and eye rakes Tiger. Tiger tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him. Kuu topes Togo outside. Fale chokeslam + samoan spikes Tiger. Sho then hits a shock arrow on Tiger and wins.

Thoughts: It was fine. It didn't get a ton of time and the faces and heels did what they were supposed to without the heels breaking too many rules with it.

Tiger is beaten up after. Oleg tries to help out and is low blowed. Evil then sharpshooters Tiger. Evil talks trash after and the heels make Oleg "polish" the title but rubbing a towel on it.

Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, Titan & Yota Tsuji vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (David Finlay, Gabe Kidd, Gedo & Taiji Ishimori)

Gabe side headlocks Yota and chops him. Gabe cartwheels over him and they shoulder each other. They chop each other. They trade shots. Yota superkicks him then flatliners him. Gabe then takes a german. 

Yota pumping knees Gabe in the corner and kind of hits a marlow crash. Yota runs into a knee on a spear attempt. Gabe suplexes him.

Shingo and DF go at it. DF running back elbows him and they lariat each other at the same time. They trade forearms. DF rolls him up for 2 and low euros him. Shingo pop-up death valley drivers TI. Shingo back body drops DF. Titan hits a springboard double dropkick. Titan then tope con hilos outside.

Titan springboard splashes TI for 2. TI pump kicks Titan. Titan limbos out of a lariat and jumping back kicks TI. HT comes in. He corner lariats TI. TI handspring corkscrew kicks HT. 

Gedo hair throws HT. He jawbreakers him. Ht grabs him by the beard and spins him. HT corner lariats him then basement dropkicks him. Shingo lariats DF over the top. Titan dropkicks HT off the apron. 

Gedo takes kicks from Titan then a Shingo sliding lariat. HT hits a Z360 on Gedo and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a shorter one. We got a little of some of the matchup's but not much more. Gedo then lost like he usually does. Gabe was moving well here.

Gabe and Yota fight outside after. They then fight in the crowd in the stands.

Shota Umino vs. OSKAR

They lock up and Oskar clean breaks him. Shota back him up in the corner and chops him. Shota side headlocks him. They shoulder each other at the same time. Oskar slams him. Oskar throws him out and stomps him. 

Oskar forearms him and chops him in the corner. Oskar boots him there then clubs him. Oskar slams him then camel clutches him. Shota hits euros then Oskar back elbows him. Oskar misses a legdrop then Shota slams him. 

Shota hits chops on Oskar then running corner euros him. Shota hits chops and forearms on Oskar in the corner. Shota tornado ddt's him for 1. Oskar back body drops him. Shota kneeshim in the back of the neck in the corner. Oskar waistlock throws him then legdrops him for 2.

Oskar foot chokes him and hits boots to the face. Shota hits forearms and Oskar forearms him down. They trade forearms. Shota hits chops and is slapped down. Shota ddt's him then germans him. Shota flying knees him for 2.

Shota hits lariats and enzugiri's him. Oskar puts him in a sleeper. Oskar slams him down for 2. Shota rolls him up for 2. Oskar does a sleeper. Shota headbutts him in the chest then running lariats him hard. Shota hits a northern lights bomb and wins.

Thoughts: The first half was boring and slow but it picked up in the second half and got a little better. It ended up being okay but I had much higher expectations for this. Shota hit some great lariats here. 

Yuya Uemura vs. Yuto-Ice

Yuto facekicks him and hits forearms and elbows. Yuya is thrown out. Yuya takes him down and they grapple on the mat. Yuto hits a big forearm. Yuya facekicks him then Yuto lariats him over the top rope. Yuya's head is banged off the apron then he is thrown into the seats.

Yuto throws a table at Yuya. Yuto hits kicks on Yuya against a table. Yuya running knees him aaginst a table and his knee ends up going through it. Yuto stands on Yuya's head in the ring. They forearm each other. Yuya flying forearms him. Yuya hits double chops on Yuto in the corner. Yuya backdrops him for 2 then goes for the kimura. Yuto roepbreaks.

Yuya yanks on the arm. Yuto knees him in the gut and running boots him in the head. Yuto stomps on Yuya in the corner and kicks him right in the forehead. Yuto hits forearms and slaps. they butt heads and Yuya asks for more. Yuya headbutts him in the corner. 

Yuya forearm flurries Yuto in the corner and headbutts him while he's seated. Yuya corner dropkicks him then backdrops him. Yuya armbars him. Yuto eye pokes him to get out of the hold.

Yuya hits a big chop and Yuto lariats him. Yuto suplexes him for 1. Yuya then germans him. Yuya forearms him and Yuto hits a straight punch. Yuto PK's him for 2. Yuya lariats him then armbars him. Yuya fujiwara armbars him but he lets go.

Yuto spits at him. Yuya deadbolt suplexes him then submits him with a kimura.

Thoughts: It worked out though Yuto's selling isn't that good. Yuya worked the arm most of the match and Yuto stuck to striking. It got heated at times. I like this and it was good.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title Match - El Desperado (c) vs. DOUKI

Douki comes to the ring with Despy's belt. Sho says Douki is the real champ on the mic before the match.

Despy blocks a boot and the young lions send Sho to the back. Despy knees and headlocks Douki. He shoulders him over then walks on his back. Douki side headlock takeovers him. Despy does the same. Douki spinning neckbreakers him.

Despy is thrown out. Douki is sent into the post outside. Douki tries to hit Despy with a hammer but the ref grabs it. Douki then hits Despy with the Jr. Title. Despy is sent into the post crotch first. Douki ddt's Despy for 2. Douki hits Despy with a pipe outside then neckbreakers him with it on the floor. 

Douki neckbreakers him. Douki does the douki chokey on Despy. Despy goes for the stretch muffler but Douki stops it. Despy backdrops him. Douki knees Despy in the gut. Despy dropkicks him in the knee. 

Despy dragon screws him. Despy's throat is pulled down over the top rope. Douki slingshot ddt's him for 2. Douki does the douki chokey. Despy rolls him into a pin attempt and is hit with an enzugiri. Despy spinebusters him then backdrops him. Despy suplexes him.

Despy hits a high dragon screw on Douki then stretch mufflers him. The ref is pulled out. Sho comes in and hits Despy with a wrench. Kuukai comes in to help and is hit with the wrench. Despy bites Douki and hits him with his pipe. Douki hits a spinning angel's wings on him. Sho hits Despy with a black mirror. Douki puts the douki chokey on Despy and Shot hits Despy with the mirror more. 

Sho throws the ref in. Despy is out and Douki wins via ref stop.

Thoughts: Douki did work the neck a little here to lead up to the finish but it had a lame finish with Sho pulling the ref out and hitting Despy with weapons to get his buddy the win. I wasn't a fan of this one.

Sho and Douki talk on the mic after. Sho says everyone should just go home. They then get confetti.

Overall thoughts: The 2nd and 3rd match from the top were the best matches on here as expected though Yuya/Yuto was much better than Shota/Oskar. I also liked the HoT 6-man. The main was brought down with interference, ref bumps and cheating. I'd give this a 5 out of 10 and thought it was average overall.
