New Japan Pro Wrestling 9/7/2025 Yuji Nagata Produce Blue Justice XVI

Masatora Yasuda & Zane Jay vs. Tatsuya Matsumoto & Tiger Mask

Nagata gives flowers to Tiger before the match. Zane and Tat go at it. Tat takes him down and they trade waistlocks. They stand off. Zane side headlock takeovers him and Tat headscissors him. 

Tiger and Masa go at it. Masa chops him on the ropes and back elbows him. Masa running forearms him for 2. Masa hits forearms. Tiger spin kicks him in the gut then hits kicks. Tiger hits forearms then Tat hits forearms and a hiptoss on Masa.

Masa's head is banged off the buckles. Masa hits forearms on Tiger and is slapped. Tiger chest kicks him and is dropkicked. Zane gets in and shoulders Tiger over. Zane dropkicks him for 2. Tiger upkicks Zane on the crab attempt. Tiger sweeps him with his leg. Tat stomps Zane and hits forearms. Zane forearms him down. Zane dropkicks Tat for 2. 

Tat rolling leg locks Masa and Masa ropebreaks. Tat stomps and forearms Masa. Masa back body drops him. Masa crabs him. Tiger breaks it up with kicks. Masa suplexes Tat then crabs him. Masa stops a rope break and taps out Tat.

Thoughts: It was your usual young lions stuff and nothing too special here. It was really not the most exciting opener. Zane was ready to go here though.

Tiger talks on the mic after and says he will give it his all in the time he has left before retirement.

Katsuya Murashima, Oleg Boltin & Shoma Kato vs. House Of Torture (Dick Togo, Don Fale & EVIL)

The heels attack before the bell. Fale and Oleg trade outside. Togo bangs KM's head off the buckles and chops him in the corner. KM hits chest shots then is eye raked. KM hits forearms and chops in the corner. KM slams Togo then flipping sentons him. Togo punches KM in the head and drops him.

Togo flipping sentons KM. Evil chops KM and foot chokes him. Fale hits KM in the gut then stands on his back. Togo hits KM in the gut outside then Togo and Evil stand on KM's gut. Fale misses a corner splash on KM. Oleg gets in. He corner splashes Fale twice.  

Togo hits shots on Oleg's gut. Fale splashes Oleg then Oleg dropkicks Fale. Kato and Evil fight. Evil kicks him in the gut and is dropkicked. Kato flying forearms him in the corner then slams him for 2. 

Kato crabs Evil. Togo chokes Kato with a weapon and KM breaks it up. Evil corner lariats Kato. Kato cradles him off a suplex then rolls him up for 2. Kato rolls him up again for a close 2. Kato hits forearms on Evil then chops him. Evil lariats Kato over then sharpshooters him. Evil submits Kato.

Thoughts: It was fine. Kato had a good showing here as he was fiery and the heels didn't overdo it with the shenanigans. 

Taichi, TAKA Michinoku & Tomoaki Honma vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Clark Connors, OSKAR & Yuto-Ice)

The six stare down and the heels hit shots on the faces. Oskar beats up Tai outside. Yuto hits Taka in the gut. Oskar is sent into the rails by Tai. Honma shoulders over Clark. Clark is triple teamed and takes a bulldog. Honma misses a headbutt drop.

Clark stomps on Honma and headbutts him. The heels stomp Honma and Clark grabs his tire. Honma gets hit with the tire. Yuto stomps on Honma then hits chest kicks. Yuto spin kicks him and corner meteora's him for 2. 

Yuto bangs Honma's head off Oskar's foot. Honma hits chops on Oskar then is chopped down. Oskar misses an elbow drop. Tai htis Kawada kicks on Oskar. Tai side kicks him and running facekicks him. Tai facekicks Yuto.

Oskar slams Tai. Oskar facekicks Tai over. Yuto grabs Tai by the hair and they butt heads. Yuto hits forearms. Tai running lariats Yuto. 

Taka pump kicks Yuto and pumping knees him in the corner. Taka eye pokes and superkicks Yuto. Taka facelocks Yuto and Yuto ropebreaks. Yuto does a nice high kick on Taka then PK's him for 2. Honma flying shoulders Clark then Oskar slams Honma. Taka takes a head kick + tombstone combo and is pinned.

Thoughts: This was our first look at Oskar and Yuto as non-young lions. They roughed up the faces and hit some hard strikes. Yuto's got some swag to him. They thankfully got the win here. It was acceptable for what it was.

Tai is held for a big punch from Yuto after. 

Daiki Nagai, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi & Yota Tsuji vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (David Finlay, Gabe Kidd, Gedo & Taiji Ishimori)

Yota and DF stare down. Gabe gets up in Shingo's face then they chest bump as the match starts. Gabe uppercuts him then facekicks him. They trade facekicks and butt heads. Gabe hits headbutts and chops him. Gabe shoulders him over. Shingo dragon screws him. Gabe takes a double shoulderblock. 

Nagai hits forearms on Gabe and is dropped with a forearm. Everyone goes out to fight. Shingo's head is banged off a table. Shingo and Gabe duel chairs. Shingo is chopped down. DF stomps a young lion and Yota.

Gabe stomps on Nagai and chops him down. Nagai's head is banged off of boots then TI chops Nagai. Gedo eye rakes Nagai. Nagai hits forearms on DF then DF boot flurries him. DF lariat flurries him then Nagai tries a pin. Nagai dropkicks him. 

Yota corner splashes DF then 2nd rope diving armdrags him. Yota grabs Gedo by the beard and yanks on it. Gedo superkicks Gabe then curbstomps DF. DF and Yota trade forearms. DF uranage backbreakers Yota. Yota tilt-a-whirl backbreakers TI. 

Hiromu flying headscissors TI then corner lariats him. Hiromu basement dropkicks him. Hiromu boots TI out of the corner. TI kicksthe ropes in TI's face then dropkicks him. 

TI handspring corkscrew kicks Hiromu. Gedo jawbreakers Hiromu. Hiromu dragon screws him. Gabe and Shingo trade shots and Gabe spinning lariats him. Shingo shoulders him over. Gedo eye rakes Hiromu. Gedo takes dropkicks to the knees then Hiromu submits Gedo with a figure four variation.

DF and Yota fight in the aisle after.

Thoughts: It was fine. Nothing too much see here. Everyone got their little segment in and Gabe and Nagai did okay with the segments they got. 

El Desperado, Ryusuke Taguchi, Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura vs. Master Wato, Togi Makabe, Toru Yano & YOH

Yoh and Despy go at it. Yoh rolls out of a wristy lock and trips Desy. Yoh fireman's carry takeovers him and keeps an armlock on. Despy side headlocks him. They keep moving at a quick pace and Yoh dropkicks him. Yano hits Taguchi with a turnbuckle pad in the butt twice. Taguchi asks for more then hip attacks him. 

Yano avoids a double dropkick. Shota euros Yano then is tripepd into the ropes for a punch from Togi. Togi hits mounted corner punches on Shota for 2. Shota takes a double hiptoss. 

Shota chops Wato then neckbreakers him. Yuya gets in hits armdrags on Yano and Wato. Yuya bulldogs Wato for 2. Yuya backdrops Wato. Taguchi blue thunders Wato. Yoh superkicks Despy. Yano takes a double dropkick. Togi hits a double lariat. 

Taguchi sliding hip attacks Wato then baseball slides him. Taguchi ankle locks Wato. Wato rolls up Taguchi for 2 then Taguchi tries a pin. Wato reverses it and wins.

Thoughts: It was pretty average. We got a lot of screwing around from Taguchi here and there wasn't enough time for the amount of people that were involved.

House Of Torture (DOUKI, Ren Narita, SANADA, SHO & Yujiro Takahashi) vs. TMDK (Hartley Jackson, Kosei Fujita, Robbie Eagles, Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.)

Sho talks on the mic before hand and Rob tells him to shut up. Douki chokes Rob on the ropes. Rob walks up the ropes and armdrags Douki. Rob flying headscissors Douki then spinning heel kicks him. Rob basement dropkicks Sho. Douki has his legs split and is double kicked. 

Douki takes a 5 person foot choke in the corner. Oiwa stomps Douki's arm. Douki has his limbs worked on by TMDK. Hart then elbow drops Douki. Yujiro hits shots on Oiwa. Oiwa dropkicks Yujiro. Hart sentons Yujiro. Oiwa is pulled into the post crotch first. Everyone then fights outside.

Ren hits Zack with chair to the gut. Yujiro headbutt drops Oiwa inside. Ren then stomps on Oiwa. Ren foot chokes Oiwa. Oiwa is sent into the buckles body first. Oiwa is held for a facekick from Yujiro for 2. Yujiro eye rakes Oiwa. Oiwa then sends Yujiro into the exposed buckle. Oiwa hits a double lariat on the heels. Zack gets in. He facekicks Ren and hits euros. Ren throws him out and into the rails. Zack hits euros on Ren then facekicks him over the rails. Zack then throws Ren into the seats.

Zack rakes Ren's face. Zack snapmares and twists the neck of Sanada and Ren. Ren legbars Zack. Ren stomps on Zack. Zack euros him then Ren does a guillotine.  Zack pele kicks Ren's arm, slaps him then hits a nice PK. 

Hart comes in and low crossbodies Sanada for 2. Hart catches Sanada's asai moonsault and powerslams him down. Hart sitout spinebusters Sanada for 2. Sanada low blows Hart. HoT hit Hart with weapons. Sanada top rope moonsaults Hart and wins.

Thoughts: Ren and Zack's section was decent. I thought Oiwa got beaten up on a little too long here and the finish was lame, so I didn't like this one that much. 

The fight continues after and Ren sends Zack into the wall.  

Yuji Nagata vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi

Tana wristlocks him and Yuji side headlock takeovers him. Tana headscissors him. Yuji headlocks him. Tana slaps Yuji on the break. Yuji hits forearms and leg kicks. Yuji armbars him. Tana dropkicks him in the knee. Tana figure fours Yuji.

Tana wraps Yuji's leg around the middle rope then dropkicks it. They trade forearms. Yuji knees him in the gut. Yuji htis chest kicks and drops Tana. Yuji running facekicks him then hits a big forearm. Yuji double underhook suplexes him for 2. 

Tana blocks a corner facekick. Tana dragon screws him. Tana flying forearms him. Tana slams him then hits a 2 flipping senton off the 2nd rope. They trade forearms. Tana hits twists and shouts. Yuji hits a magic screw. Yuji step up knees him in the corner. They fight on the buckles. Yuji 2nd rope exploders him and Tana lands hard. Yuji goes for a backdrop, Tana rolls on him and Tana goes head first into the mat.

They trade forearms. They slap each other. Yuji tries another saito suplex and Tana rolls onto him, avoiding death again. Tana slingblades him for 2. They fight on the buckles. Tana headbutts him down and top rope crossbodies him. Tana hits a high fly flow and wins.

Thoughts: The first half was good but then it fell apart in the second half. I don't know what they were trying to do with the two backdrop spots but both looked bad and Tana nearly got killed on them. The announcers made no efforts to hide it either which made it worse. I can't really put this one over because of it. Tana also looked pretty gassed by the end.

Tana talks on the mic after and is given flowers since its his last match in this city. 

Overall thoughts: On paper it was a one match show. Tana and Nagata had good first half but then things fell apart in the second half. The rest of the show was average to okay with a bunch of throwaway tags that didn't mean a lot. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 as there was nothing must see here.
